Jordan is so cool so knowledgeable
I agree , best guy to have around for that job
Idk why but he seemed sketchy when I first started seeing him on CZcams and IG, but the more I see the more he seems like a good dude who’s super knowledgeable on the mechanics and tuning of BMWs.
Jordan is the PERFECT collab. Brings the right amount of Chaos to Taylor’s very methodical and thought out videos. I love it. Need more.
Jordan is always down to help people out his friends are lucky
hes so cool
The fear in your eyes when you looked at Jordan when the adapter broke! 😂😂😂 I hate that sound too lol
Dude didn't look too sure when he said it was the adapter
@@LJenkinsEsqIIIhe was definitely confident it wasn’t the crank. Probably does it once a week and was just enjoying someone else deal with the stress for once
Jordon really is a good bloke. Seeing him on other channels popping in from time to time, always helping and having a laugh.
Right! So cool
As a F82 owner, I love this. I spun my crank hub so made me very happy that you changed it right away! Very excited for this build!!!!
Did you spin it stock?
@@drewthomas6224 no, I was playing with fire. I was stage 2+ I knew the risk though
@@robertnealey4578 Dang! Glad you are all good. I have a 2018 F80 and plan to remove all of the damn plastic in the engine once my warranty runs out in December. I should probably do the crank hub too! I've been driving hard and even almost totaled her in September, but no issues at all for the car for me. Did you fix the M4, or is she gone?
@@drewthomas6224 it was fixed! Still have it. I beat the crap out of it with no issues! These cars are definitely a handful once you go full bolt on! Be careful with it and most definitely either do the crank hub or atleast a capture plate man! And definitely be careful with it. These cars are gonna become gold once the CZcams guys get ahold of them 😂
@@robertnealey4578 I got mine for a steal in February of 2022. Mineral Grey, 6-Speed Manual, Competition Pack. I think anything with an S-55 will become a gold brick on wheels in the future. Especially with the CZcams scene picking them up for great prices and conditions.
I plan to bullet proof mine and keep it around 450-500 WHP. She’s already so fast, and I’m not looking to get a ticket again!
So glad you’re finally doing drift week! You deserve it most out of all youtuber’s.
Agreed!
Agree.. he always bitched out for some reason
Makes me appreciate the LS even more.
Doesn’t the LS have crank pulley issues?
For ‘stripped’ Allen key plugs I use the size up Torx drive. Hammer it in and usually that works
matco makes some phenomenal tools for this purpose, both torx and allen. humble mechanic has a short explaining them and the part #'s
There is also “Allen head removal” bits that are basically a warped torx bit.
Every m3 should come with a Jordan so its a good ownership experience
I'm a hobbyist mechanic and just did a valvetronic motor on a 2011 BMW 335xi intimidating at first but very easy to work on. Other than a bunch of plastic parts I actually enjoyed working on it.
Sitting home with a broken ankle, this content is such a great way to spend time right now. Really wanna see this project finished and in action.
That's definitely something I've never seen before. Drilling the holes on the crank, while making sure everything will be TDC when installed seems difficult. Hard part is done though it would seem
Love watching Jordan work on those cars and tune them. And that e36 is frikken nasty! Glad to see him on your channel.
My last job was at a Miata shop, and the NC’s use the Ford Duratec motor and they have the same concept friction system for the timing system. Diamond washers and a lot of torque. Oddly enough they almost never fail but I guess it’s a power thing. When you were tightening the crank bolt it brought back some memories, the Miatas iirc were 75 +180 degrees or something similar and that was always a fun time getting those tight with 2 people. 270 degrees is nuts
If someone asked me what to get for a drift week build, the last answer i would have is a BMW. But after watching this video and listening to Jordan, i think i have a little more faith in the build. Also Jordan is one classy dude, i aspire to be someone that genuine.
I thought the K24 build would be the absolute best for drift week, and i’m sure Taylor did too. Very excited to be proven wrong, and excited to see this thing shred. 🤘🏼
It’s always helpful to have a homies like Jordan teach you through the process.
For those plugs on the cover, heat it a little bit with a small torch briefly and it’ll come out nice and easy.
I really love f80s and the idea of another f80 drift car has me stoked. Around me f80 guys are usually takeover kids
The fact that your drifting an f80 and own a daily f80 is just so sick.
That’s cool they make aftermarket cam hubs.
I had a turbo NA Miata that had a similar issue with the crank pulley coming apart.
Love your videos, I look forward to yours over a lot of other car CZcamsrs anymore. Keep it up!!
I remember I did a VW diesel vibration damper. 220Nm base torque and then 270 degrees. It was an M16 12.9, but man! I calculated that with the thread pitch, I stretched the bolt a full millimeter.
We used a air chisel for stripped-out allen plugs or bolts or really anything like that. The vibration also helps with loosening. I've used one for the last 40+yrs. Thats really cool that your friend drivers down from NY,keep up the great work.
Thank you, I think the whole F80 community have been waiting a good 7 years for these types of videos. Good detailed chat 💬 can’t wait for the rest of the episodes 👏🏼
Need that trailer and lots of tires! Good luck can’t wait to see the drifting!
Oh boy, I wanna see this build!! Make it look Fresh and Dope!
The sheer terror in your eyes tightening that crank bolt , thing took some wild stretch!
Man, I think I need an e36 sedan aswell. 500whp with a gasket, studs and under 15lbs is wild
For heatshielding better be carefull , cause you might end up melting stuff , o2 , the pipe itself and such , its best if you leave some spots that air can pass through and breathe. Many years ago we did a wrap with water (we placed the wrap on water and wrapped the manifold really tightly) and on idle we managed to make it glow red, that was on a 1.2L n/a engine (without doing pulls or anything crazy first , just by sitting at the idle)
Man I would i've been sketch out to , with that bolt damn that was a lot of torque ahahaha.
Love the content!
I can tell you from the Honda crank bolt that 60 degrees alone is 250 foot pounds or so. 270 degrees is insane. At that point the bolt is like a really stiff spring. That’s absolutely 3/4” drive territory.
You're in good hands man, he tuned my big single turbo E90 M3 three years ago and have yet to have a single issue with it.
looking like an awesome build man!
The slip of the adaptor had me freaking out too! I broke a subframe bolt last week and I just relived it just watching that.
Dude I am so stoked for this!
Jordan is awesome. Glad to see him jump in this project.
12:23 one reason I love air hammers
Just started watching and I’m excited just to see them find the engine
Drilling holes in the crank without removing the sump and ensuring no metal swarf in oil pan is brave!
Be very careful with that milly digital torque wrench, the torque test channel did a review on it and it performed very poorly and not accurate at all compared to other digital torque wrenches. (I know you love milly tools tho)
This is why I watch Taylor over cleetus. Always learn something and I love the quality of his builds. No constant ads and he actually works on the cars (not rc garbage)
Not at all a bmw guy but I’ll take your word for it I think you have done your research so I’m excited for this build, as I am for all of your work I love that everything has a reason, in the end it all makes sense.
Trust me I have done my research. These cars are so good. And great value.
I appreciate that you know me enough to know that if I'm doing this, I have good reason. So many people don't give me that benefit of the doubt. So thank you!
So you say there is an engine in there…😊
That extra deg after torque… nuto
Love your content.
happy to meet you. I'm also going to do drift week 7. come from the Netherlands
Jordan is lowkey the funniest person i've ever experienced on camera 😂
And so it begins…love it!
Shouts out to Jordan, always putting in work.
Nicely done
Jordan's such a good dude
Jordan is a real VIP
Lol when you did the first pull and josue's head peeks out with a big grin
Cool to see your fleet evolving keeping in the Spirit of home garage builds while expanding. Can't wait to see what u do w the SS, big slicks? Supercharged big block with nitrous?
Gonna be another sick build
Awesome content
Awesome video man!
U know it's a good video when there's a wild Josue sighting!!
This car is so clean!!!!
Wild that a shop near my house does the crank hub upgrade in only 3 hours this is a big job guess they have it down to a science.
I haven't watched the video yet but i'm very excited about this build. You saying "WhAt" when he said 3rd cam had me dying laughing.
Can’t wait to see the drift week episodes
Jordan is a legend
Can’t wait for the next vid!
Such a great colab
Jordan is the fuckin man seriously hes such a good dude so humble and chill he always has a good vibe always willing to get down and dirty and help his friends out iv always liked him since day one
Thanks for sharing ...
Love it!
Man I’m really excited to watch this build!
Just sat down to eat no idea how good of timing that was taylor, so stoked to see the build.
I'm glad I could keep you company during your meal!
Love this
28:20, genesis coupe is the same way, this is such a common point of failure, such a shame too the back end feels so much more solid when you do poly on both sides
F80 for life
Not happy about seeing the cifero go but honestly I can't wait to see how you like it and how quick you adapt because because it being a entirely different chassis
The Legend, Jordan from RK Tunes. 🎉
12:20 what I usually do is use an air hammer cause I don’t have a second person to hold the pry bar
That is a clean e36. That’s a lot for me to say as I think e36 cars make greet donors for E30s haha
Just my 2 cents, i believe the reason the crank pin bolt is torqued to 300ftlbs is because of its 3 piece design. The aftermarket 1 piece design should be strong enough to hold at 150ftlbs of torque.
Holy F. That's insane tq.
one thing that you should invest in, is a hardpipe kit for the intercooler pipes. they are well known to blow up the couplers with a decent tune.
Yesss let’s goooo!
12:38 well done!
Really good to see "Really Krackley Tunes" getting some work !
I had a feeling Jordan was behind all of this. His giveaway car sounds so good!
Taylor. Another cheap and easy mod that will benefit drifting/tracking the f8x. Oil Level Spacer Kit. It will let you hold 3/4 qt more oil.
Don’t know why Jordan says he doesn’t work on cars. He’s really smart. Making Long Island look good for once.(live on LI)
The modern engine is so well balanced and build to such exacting tolerances, they tend not to wear out as fast as old engines did, especially if serviced properly. I think BMW built a point of failure or two into their engines.
I need to do the same on the e82 I'm building.. not sure which crank hub option to go with yet though.
Man I love seeing other people help Taylor cause it helps me learn different things that Taylor might not know. But as always keep up the amazing work Mr.TRay one of my favorites to watch
Envious, awesome, keep it up
F80 is a top 5 BMW chassis. The sedan is the best IMO
LMAOO I feel you taylor, when I first started at audi the high ass tourque had me shook too but you get used to it with the German cars lol the bolts just stretch out
Thank you sir, with all the shorts and low attention span shite around it makes me so happy to have a good 30 min video with some quality content 👍
@14:15🫣
BMW, are your Techs for real!!
WTF😳
That e36 I would take as a keep long term. The newer M is nice because it's new. alot more labor involved than an e36/46.
Dude he legit couldn’t be a better teacher for this scenario!
Right on
Any o-ring plug /Orb fittings hit it with a hammer a few times . It will always come out easy after.
Rk tunes CZcams channel is awesome
I want that Red E36!
Didn’t know Jordan really got dirty and turned wrenches thought he just did tunes , nice
Been waiting for this collab for ☝️🔥 minute!!
Seen Rudi in yr drive.?..
Jordan is such a grinding generous genuine goofy geek ✌️these euro-sliders.
He’s reactions where $less!
Welcome to the darkslide big T!! 🍻
