Lolita is not beginner friendly, and should come with a huge trigger warning. If you feel awkward reading it, like yeah, no shit. Humbert Humbert is a terrible human being and he masks it with awful clever words. The French and how he talk about himself as so perfect and… ungh… then compare that with the descriptions he gives every (non child) woman he meets. The way he talks every horrible deed he does right. And I think thats the point. If you try to read it like you would any other book, you might come away thinking Lolita asked for any of it. If you dont accept that humbert is an unreliable narrator, who tries really hard to sway you on his side, to make you think he actually did nothing wrong. Its a really hard book to get through, but oh so cleverly written. Its just… you need to be in the right headspace. You are absolutely correct.
Hey Anchal lots of hug to you too. Just a suggestion regarding your background frame. When I'm watching the video definitely as a reader my eyes are going back. But your position and the alignment of the books seems contrasting. Do try a diff angel 😇 just wanted to share my opinion and help you to make your videos more authentic. Hope you'll not mind. 🥰
