The concrete mix was likely a SCC mix (Self Consolidating Concrete). It uses plasticizers which is a water reducing chemical admixture. The admixture makes the water in the mix more efficient and allows for a more flow able mix without adding a bunch of water that’ll typically weaken your compressive strength. Lots of videos out there for comparisons of a conventional slump concrete vs SCC.
I’m curious what your mix is. I poured my lower level about 2 months ago. Pouring my upper level hopefully next week. I’m in Eagle Mountain. Thanks for your videos fun to watch.
A good video but the microphone quality is somewhat difficult to hear you. Will you do an additional; video to discuss the finance aspects of the project? What type of blocks did you use? Thanks!
Sorry about the audio quality. I see if I can figure out something else. And yes once I get the roof on and the shell complete I plan on doing a cost video to that point. I am using build blocks for my ICF.
For the rebar you’re putting in, has you engineer given you guidance of where it needs to be placed in relation to the interior or exterior side of the ICF? (Clearance) Looks like you have the sizes, spacing & lap lengths covered.
Great videos. Looking forward to seeing the progress updates. More the merrier!

Do you have the name of the consultant you used , I’ll be building an icf to the roof house soon and would love the tips

Below grade he wants it on the inside of the house. Above grade in the middle.
@@LegacyViewsICFhomeBuild That makes sense. Less chance for the concrete to crack from the pressure of the fill.
do you know what the mix was?
I will have my Concrete consultant reach out to you
I would be interested in the details on the mix as well. @@LegacyViewsICFhomeBuild
Where is it 48’ tall?
On the north side it will be 48’ from the bottom of the house to the top of the roof.
