“When I had done the genealogy and I found out about my heritage, the first thing I did obviously was call my mom because I wanted to know if she had any awareness of it and I think, being African American and part of it is really not knowing so much about your lineage, your background, where you come from specifically and it was exciting for both of us to discover more and understand what that really means. Never in a million years will I understand as much as I do now, being here and what’s been echoed so much really in the past day by men and women alike is 'Oh! We weren’t surprised when you found out you were Nigerian, oh no, no, no' and I say that mostly as a compliment to all of you because what they define as a Nigerian woman is brave, resilient, courageous, powerful, beautiful.”

    10. SOUNDBITE (English) Meghan, Duchess of Sussex:
“I often find that, whatever travels I’ve done regardless if it's Nigeria, or another country around the world, often times, when women reach the peak of success, they leave. But you need to come back home, you need to at least be a familiar face for the next generation to say 'Oh she looks like me, and I can be that.' And I think that is a really key piece in all of it where success isn’t defined by oh, you’ve gone out, you’ve gone somewhere else, it's defined by and you still always want to come back home because that’s how you are going to help shift any sort of generational pattern that might be stifling especially for young girls who need to see someone who looks like them in that same position of power and...”
Summit moderator (English): “you have come back home.”

    STORYLINE:
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, said it’s been “humbling” to find out through a genealogy test that she is partly Nigerian as she met with women in the West African nation on Saturday.
“It’s been really eye-opening to be able to know more about my heritage and to be able to know this is just the beginning of my discovery," she told guests at an event on women in leadership co-hosted by Nigerian economist and head of the World Trade Organization Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
Meghan is visiting Nigeria for the first time with her husband Prince Harry to promote mental health for soldiers and young girls.
"What’s been echoed so much really in the past day by men and women alike is 'Oh! We weren’t surprised when you found out you were Nigerian," she said.
"I say that mostly as a compliment to all of you because what they define as a Nigerian woman is brave, resilient, courageous, powerful, beautiful," she added.
The Duchess of Sussex had announced in her podcast in Oct. 2022 that she was "43% Nigerian," having discovered that earlier through a genealogy test, a DNA-based genetic test that people use to trace their ancestral origin.

Wow did you just hear what she boasted about herself! She said that it is a compliment to all Nigerian women that she too like them is regarded as brave, resilient, courageous, powerful, beautiful. I wonder who said they were not surprised that Meghan was Nigerian...if anyone did at all. What a strange and twisted boast that she attempted to turn into a compliment to those listening. It is so obvious!!!!!

I will explain it to you. African American called it the “wake-up 📞 “. She is now awaken
THE Difference between BLACK and WHITE is exactly that. ✍🏼
Hate to be the bearer of bad news 📰 but most biracial tends to run to the black community when they are in TROUBLE. Because people including them Keeps forgetting who and what white people are.
And I don’t understand why people get mad at whites. They have NEVER wavered in who they are on this planet. 🌏 I mean never!
      Ask the Romans. 900AD. 1492 1990 2024 = same same same.
Her own white family. Harry and those in the UK will choose “white group” over Meghan -the individual “
      And she just woke up.
But most biracial already know this !!!
Because their own white parent tells them THEY ARE BLACK.
Harry tells her she is black because 1+1= 2
Black counts people like raindrops and the universe
1+1= 1. You are always added to them …not just counted as others
      ………
That is the major difference in Nigeria vs the Uk.
Meghan lived her whole life as white woman 👩 not a biracial until she realized she was never “added” to white.
Nigeria gives her the HRH Princess title just because she is a human being and an invited guest. Because marriage of any relationship is 1+1= 1

I feel sorry that she doesnt understand the need of covering herself.
The aim is not to be beautifyl here but to respect other peope customs, respect your husband publicly by wearing appropriate clothes and send a overall message of humility.
