I always thought that dosdude is a 50 something year old ex Apple engineer who worked on original macs and this why he knows his way around the hardware and software. I am 🤯

I thought the same. Very few IT people are proficient with hardware and software at the same time. I know dosdude1 from the patch he released to install Mojave on unsupported Macs. Truly unique talent.
I’ve had similar ideas about utilising unused TB chip lanes on newer models, and adding extra juice to magsafe 4pins(+)/mid for ID/body as gnd, tho dunno why would we need so much power input😂

Dosdude is a genuine genius. A huge asset to the Mac community.
He's kept my 2008 mac pro going and let me work from home during the covid lockdowns.
Its a damn shame he stopped doing his patchers because Opencore, whilst functional is a lot trickier and clunkier than his work.

I really hope that this kid (DosDude) is doing more than messing around on youtube videos. I know a couple of PC engineers that are astounded by the work that this guy is doing and they all agree that that he could easily be working for MS or Apple, etc.
And yet by messing around on CZcams videos he's already helped an incredible amount of people extend the life of their machines, inspired countless others, etc etc. Considering the amount of corporate greed that has been spreading like the plague, why would working for them even be a good thing at this point?
It is difficult to surprise us nowadays, but this definitely does. It is really amazing!

This one was 2 MUCH, hardest tier Mac modd. I guess this kind of modd was only aviable in same 2011 model. but this project shows how great this computers used 2 be back when we were on X86 Arch, thanks again for invite dosdude1 aka "Collin", hope he can show us a few more projects 2 fight the programmed obsolesense, his idea is great, maybe with a manual of some kind of friendly explaining + a propper friendly case for GPU this example could go from experiment to bussiness model.

I've been subscribed to Dosdude for years. I've probably heard him say "arlrighty" hundreds of times. He's a soldering master.
Love dosdude and Collin, used his Mojave and Catalina Patchers. This mod is awesome and a lot of fun but it only will help a few people. If Colin did another OS upgrade patcher for the latest OS like the Catalina patcher, it would help thousands of more mac users. Let's all hope!
Wow! For people with the soldering skills this is definitely a way to breathe life into what may well be a dead or dying system. Hell, you could even offer this up as a service to others...

Yep thunderbolt 4 should have have been pcie gen 4 instead of gen3 speeds. hopefully we will get thunderbolt 5 at pcie 5 speeds and go from 40gbps to 160gbps. Egpu enclosures would be great at those speeds.
