Quilting a Society Silk Doily on a longarm

There isn't much written about this art form. I look for it online, in antique shops (which is where I found this one) and sometimes they are gifted to me by friends. I have collected them for over 10 years and have amassed a nice bunch. I chose to quilt this one a few months ago. It is 27" in diameter. I used 2 layers of Hobbs batting, wool over 80/20 Heirloom. Glide 40 weight thread was used in the color, Cream. I quilted this on a Handi Quilter Forte and at times, on a Handi Quilter Simply Sixteen. I only use Schmetz longarm needles in my machines. (link below) It was completely free motion quilted and I also used my notched rulers (link below) for much of the embroidery outlining.
At the end, I used regular Elmer's glue to keep the raw edges from fraying. The tiny bottle with the perfect tip are linked below as well. The very last step is the beading! I use pearls from vintage, crocheted necklaces I find at antique shops and my favorite, 15/0 Miyuki glass seed beads (link below).
You can watch the entire process in the video. The final journey for this piece will be to the frame shop to be mounted, matted and framed.
