- This was the intro to my first full length film "Prag 2004".
It's probably THE greatest sporting moment I've witnessed, and I've seen the national team getting the Olympics Gold medal, the bronze in the 1994 football world cup.
But this match made go f-ing bananas.
Edit: See lots of comments about this. This is the QUARTER FINALS, 2003. We won against Slovakia (4-1) in the semi, and lost against Canada in the final (3-2). - Sport
Forsberg was just a fantastic player he had everything and Mats Sundin was a natural born leader and a great player too they could both win a game on their own
I remember this like it was yesterday, THIS is my greatest hockey memory of all times..
Peter Forsbergs 5 - 5 goal makes me shiver. Seriously, goosebumps.

I just love the rivalery between our countries! Tough we have won most of the times except the latest three matches, but you finns just wait, we will see you in the olympics, and this time we will have our best players on the ice! :)

I have great respect for the Finnish team. In Turin, they crushed that entire tournament except for the finale.
It seems there is some mental barrier when it comes to facing Sweden. Very well. We still have Vancouver.

När det stod 5-1 till Finland så tänkte jag först stänga av TV:en. När sen Sverige kommer igen och till sist gör 6-5 då kommer tårarna. Jag grät =)
Det var en helt otrolig match! Unik match! Helt fantastiskt! Man blir glad när man ser detta igen. Tack för att du la upp det!

They didn't even show that game on tv cause the wimens curling team simultaneously had a semi-final game (which they won). I didn't even know they were still in the tournament until I read a note of em losing in the papers...
I do love the fact that the finns have their wimen fight their battle though. It's kinda cute. ;)

I wonder how many that turned of their TV's around 4-1 or 5-1.. Most people I know did.. Somehow I struggled through, and when we got our third goal to make it 5-3 I could almost smell what was happening. Without a doubt the most exciting game ever.

Den bästa idrottshändelsen i Svensk historia, slåss eventuellt med Bronset 94 i fotboll. Sverige vs Finland är alltid en prestige match. Att slå Finländarna är alltid kul, men att göra det på detta sätt är obeskrivligt. Foppa/Sudden etc. generationen, undra om om vi någonsin får en sådan generation igen.

men denna matchen är den sjukaste av alla rivalitetsmatcher. Otroligt, helt jävla otrloligt.

I wouldnt say that Finland sucks, im swedish myself but theres always something special in the air when the 2 teams go to "war" .. i just love it.. and the last time they played, Finland won, but it just seems that Sweden wins all the "important" matches.

The thing I've always admired and respected in Swedish team is that they never give up, no matter how bad the situation looks. Finland usually has a good start and terrible ending, that's just the way it usually goes.
But we lost this one, well done Sweden! See you again in the future. ; )

We won the olympics in 2006 and the World cup, and all of those players still play..

I remember this match all too well, that's what you get for underestimating us finland. Really like the one where Foppa goes solo and scores, anyways... SUPER SUDDEN!
I'm not taking your teasing seriously or the loss for that matter either. It's just one loss and we have plenty of sports and athletes to be happy about. If you can get a mild chuckle from us failing instead of you winning in your one sport - then I'm all for it my little brother. Just this last week I've seen a future superstar in Nicklas Bäckström, Zlatan scoring for Barca, Sweden winning a couple of Olympic golds etc, so this Sweden vs Finland deal for us is really all about teasing finns.
I remember this game. i was so proud over that finland was leading over sweden.
But when sweden won i cried, i thought finland had been better than before. but no. i was wrong.
Sometimes i hate to be finnish. But at least Finland beat sweden with 4-0 last year

En favorit som många missar är när Sudden snackar ner Jokkinen.
Kolla 04:00... man ser att Sudden snackar som fan innan tekningen, och precis innan domarn släpper pucken kollar Jokkinen upp på Sudden istället för pucken. Kolla sen vad som händer.
Den här matchen spelades 2003 under hockey VM i Finland. Det var också kvartsfinalen mellan dessa lag.
Excellent movie. Excellent music. BUT it would have been better without the music.
Love how it's cut, with focus on some real key moments. Like the end, with Sundin's face in focus. The Terminator could not look as mean as he does at that moment =)

Since 1987 when Russia stopped winning everything Sweden have won 7 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze. That is more then Canadas 6-7-1, Russias 6-3-4, Czechs 6-1-9 and Finlands 1-8-5.

May the best team win. Both countries are great at this sport. I´m a swede. I know the history of the sport so I respect all the bigger icehockey nations. I would have enjoyed for example Russia against Canada and so on.....

Slovakia had a great game today also, i really admire them and they are my favorite right after Finland.

I wonder why it is that we almost always lose against Sweden, even when the Finnish team succeeds better in the tournament, like in Vancouver.
Haha well nice to see some friendship between the nordic countries! Except for Sweden ofcourse Finland is my favorite country. Just because of all the good things that has come through Koskenkorva and Lapin Kulta!

Actually, this was the Semi-Final. The match after was Canada vs. Sweden, witch sweden lost on overtime.
