  • davidsbeenhere.com/ In this episode of DBH Unplugged, David tours more of the lakeside destinations along Atitlan. Boating between towns and volcanoes amidst the beautiful blue waters, David displays some of the amazing colors of Guatemala. From the street murals along the houses of San Juan to Santiago Atitlan's market handicrafts, you can experience this colorful culture with David's Been Here. While touring Santiago Atitlan, David meets some local women who proudly represent their Mayan heritage, wearing the traditional Mayan 'head belts'. Check it out as this local woman shows David how the 20-meter long head wraps are tied and worn. Learn more about these local customs and traditions, and visit all the lakeside destinations with the DBH Guide to Guatemala, now available for your Kindle as well.

I lived in Santiago Atitlan for 6 months and around Lake Atitlan for about 10.5 months. A beautiful area with wonderful people who need a great deal of help.
