The Rivera Stage IV combo amplifier includes all the hallmarks of Paulâs famous American amp mods: a Master Volume for increased gain control; Fat, Bright, and Boost toggles for better tonal command; a Presence knob for accessing uncharted top-end American sweetness; and an upgraded tube and speaker complement to tap into the full magic of the late-â70s circuitry. On top of that, additional features include foot-controlled, fully independent channel switching and a buffered active FX loop with level controls for greater pedalboard integration. Bought my Rivera's in the 90s. R55 combo and a Knucklehead 100. Sadly sold my Knucklehead as the gigging thinned out, but kept the R55. Fabulous amplifiers ! absolutely amazing and incredibly well built and thought out (no surprises there) I would be lost without that tone and versatility. Mr Rivera really is an overlooked genius, so long may he keep creating these sonic gems.

As a kid I was in the room with the studio cats of the 70s and early 80s and grew up with their work ethic and philosophy of the job as my model. Tommy Tedesco had a direct influence on my education at a critical moment. So I knew about Paul Rivera before I understood much of anything technical. Today I could scoop the mids and turn up the presence and make a Deluxe Reverb happen. Back then.. I would not have known what to do with all those pull switches unless my teachers told me. What you offered with that Stage 2 and what is now available in this Stage 4 is music history, sure... but it's THE TOOL for THE BEST STUDIO PLAYERS in history. That means it will serve new music just as well or maybe even better. The release of this amp is, and I get this, hopefully a good addition to the lineup of a music company that wants to do well in the present, but I cannot stress this enough, this release is actually HISTORIC and a RARE opportunity to bypass FADS and get TOOLS that can help a budding musician GET MORE WORK and MAKE MUSIC BETTER for artists and producers going forward. If Sweetwater encouraged this product, you have done working recording guitar players a MASSIVE service. Congratulations to Paul Rivera on hitting another one out of the park!

Rivera amps are killer! I met Paul some years ago, and asked him if he could make the 60-watt combo any lighter. He said, âWell, I could use a neodymium-magnet speaker, and make the chassis out of titanium, it would save maybe four or five pounds and cost $15,000.â So, what does this 20-watt Stage IV weigh? At my age and reduced mobility, I canât carry much. I had a Twin Reverb in my early 20s, and could barely lift it then-no way I could do that anymore! If the Riveraâs too heavy, I might get a Fender Tone Master Twin or Deluxe.

Looks great! For years my main amp was a wonderful Rivera R55-112, and this one looks a lot like it (cosmetically, at least). It would be interesting to know how this "Stage IV" compares with that older model (aside from the tremolo, of course, which sounds killer!).
These amps donât get a lot of press, but wow... what a great sound and value!

Hey, James! Thanks for your interest. The case in the background was just hanging around and the case the amp is sitting on is just to prop it up, neither are actually for the amp! That being said, we do have a Gator G-Tour road case for 1x12 amps that the Stage IV should fit in:

@@JackNance22 Maybe you judge a little too quickly, don't forget that many musicians are stressed about performing in front of people and that some are not at the level in terms of their talent and are aware of it.
If you don't play excellently and make compositions that are just okay, no one wants to listen to you, and I think many people know this, so they don't even try
