Your wiring guide helped me a lot, thanks! So you know you're supposed to crimp the rubber grommet to the pin that goes into the connector, not push it in afterwards.

Thanks so much, this is very helpful. I've been hesitating on buying a controller due to wanting to custom wire some stuff and I wasn't sure if the included instructions would make it easy enough, but you came through and solved my problem! Looking closely at the diagram in the manual on their site, it looks like there is a 12v lead you could tie in to for your accessories, so you wouldn't need the 12v down converter. It is the red wire marked "11".
I’ve heard about that but never pursued it. I wonder if it would still power accessories with the power off. I run LEDs at night when the bike is parked and powered down since the converter is in line, it’s always getting power from the battery and powering stuff even with the key off.
@@VoltronWatts the 12v line on the controller would only be on when the controller is on. Your key would also turn the lights off and on, no need for a separate switch.

@@JUNXRCZ I haven't yet but am pretty sure that it would. I have some some LED strips on my forks that are wired to be daytime running lights whenever the bike is on, but also work as turn signals, so wiring to constant power is not ideal for me, but then only getting power with the bike on would be perfect, and I would prefer to not have another switch just for the DTRLs. Anyways, haven't tried it, yet, but let me know if you try it and it works.
@@JUNXRCZ I tried it, and it kind of works. The voltage hovers around 10 and a half, and you can only run the weakest of LED lights, not a headlight or a horn or anything else.

This is what its all about! Spreading the knowledge! Any plans to show how to tune and mess with the kelly? Also how hard was it to get that grip off the throttle tube? Looks like a pain in the butt
Thanks man! The grip is easy. Just snip the tin part of the grip in a couple places, peel it off and cut down the rubber part with a razor to get that off. Wiring the Kelly isn’t bad at all. Takes a little time but it’s totally worth it. I’d love to make a vid going over the Kelly settings. For sure future video content there! 👍
This is really cool. I've asked for wiring diagrams on alot of the razor fb groups and not alot of people will give that knowledge up. Another thing is tuning the controller that would be sweet.

To be honest, I have never wired the factory brakes to the Kelly. I’ve always ran aftermarket hydraulic brakes. Do you have a wiring diagram for the Kelly?

A 72v Kelly will work with a 48v battery but a 72v battery should not be hooked to a 48v Kelly 👌

How well does the KVD drive that motor? I'm trying to get a KLS-N to work with mine and it's cogging no matter what I do. Hilariously, I have the exact same throttle, motor, anti-spark connectors, and batteries.
I had a KLS on my first build. It was good. I have since gone to KVD. No reason really only that E&C and lone star electrik uses them. But I’ve had great luck with the KVD. Just get the one that suits your batteries numbers. 👍
this video is great, how do i hook up a 3 speed throttle on the controller. ive searched the world wide web for hours. looks like electro and co wants you to buy their plug and play and not provide a diagram. so frustrating. thank you in advance

What kind of crimpers do you use for the connectors that come with the Kelly.
I don’t have special pliers for that unfortunately. I just a small pair of electrical pliers and a small pair of regular type pliers to complete the crimp. Not the fastest way of doing it, but it’s worked for me. 🍻
Does the EC4P motor wire up the same way to the Kelly, the hall sensor orientation? Same color to color that you shown here?

@@VoltronWatts getting a hall sensor fault code following these colors. Got two wires extra prob temp sensor. I guess I need a wire diagram or a picture of the original hall sensor cable so I can play color matching. I guess there is always a chance the hall sensor is bad but I’m trying to rule that out

Yea man, totally! Which Kelly you got? The KBS-X and the KVDs have different settings. Ill collect some data for you and post it here. 💪🏼
Have you ever recorded your 0-30 run time with the Kelly controller ? I'm curious to see how fast.
I havnt. This bike is set up for a top speed over a greater distance. So the 0-30 isn’t gunna blow you’re back. But the top speed should be pretty good.
I heard the cheap vevor Amazon throttle is too touchy with the vevor controller. Once you pair it with a Kelly controller instead, does it do much better? Or do you think the throttle that comes with the Kelly is a lot better?
The vevor controller with the vevor throttle is crap. When you add the Kelly, you can adjust how sensitive you want the throttle to be. You can also adjust the power delivery over time to allow for smooth roll on acceleration. 👍
Where did you get the 9 pin connector from?
Mine came with the Kelly controller.
My kelly controller does'nt recognize my vevor 72v motor, when i turn it on the mototr will tug twice and just keeps beeping. Any suggestions?

At 1:45 my enc motor 6k motor matches the color to harness on the lonestar piggyback kit which is the same way I had my previous 2000w vevor motor.. but here you have the three wires in different order. I'm wondering if this why my new motor is 10 mph slower then my previous motor even though it's 3x the watts and over 2000 more rpm
To be honest with you, I can’t speak to the lonestar set up or the E&C since I havnt used either. Sorry man. I wouldn’t want to give you any bad info and If don’t know or am not sure I’ll be the first to admit it. Wish I could help dood.

Very useful. Do you have links for some great motorcicle or go-Kart electric motors other than from Amazon? The largest that I found in Amazon are 2000 Watt for 48V and 3000 Watt for 72V. I need more than that. I need preferebly for 48V.

Hey I have a Kelly controller from electro and co and also there volt meter and throttle I bought everything separately and put it together but ever since me first ride the bike cut off on me and I haven’t be able to get it started again. I can’t tell if the controller broke on me or the volt meter or something cus all the wire connections are still intact so I’m stuck
When you put power to the bike does the. Voltmeter show the voltage? Does the Kelly controller show a green light when it’s on? If it not, does it show a light at all?
No the volt meter doesn’t show any voltage anymore. I’ve tried replacing the volt meter still nothing. I don’t see a light on the controller to Indicate if it’s working or not but I’m thinking it might be the controller cus my battery from amorge still is showing voltage. I just have no way to hook the controller up to see what’s going on.

Hey! Yea, sometimes it takes a while. They ship from China via fed ex. Sometimes it gets held up in customs.
I ordered my KVD controller on Jan 27, and just got it yesterday. Shipped from China to Los Angeles. paid priority and was shipped via air.

I keep getting an auto identify error (1-1 error code) I tried switching the hall sensor wires like you suggested and I'm still getting auto identify error. Wrong wiring of motor phase or hall sensors wires. Any ideas that I can work through?

Basically i ran all 84v back into pink wire #7 and people said thats how it goes yet mine blew a 100v capacitor with only 84v

Just a little FYI. Yes it does work. But the kbs and kvd don't share the exact same wiring. It's not getting the full potential because 2 wires aren't where they should be when using the kbs diagram for kvd. Compare both manuals and wiring and see what you're doing wrong. Good job on spreading the knowledge though. Just need to do a little more searching before posting.
