Jeff Healey and Gary Moore, two of my all time favorite musicians. Both these guys had an attack that would peel the enamel off your teeth! God I miss them!

Life dealt Jeff a heavy blow. Cancer blinded him at the age of about one. Then struck again & killed him with lung cancer in his early forties.
Yet it somewhat compensated him as, first a rock/ blues great as both guitarist & vocalist, then later as a jazz afficinado on trumpet.
Jeff, because of your great talent, you will never be forgotten.

Ray Charles agrees. There is an extra special aspect to what they can do with their other senses, or so it seems. Not that you need to lose your vision, but I think it can bring a focus to those so afflicted that comes out in special ways.

Imagine how much he felt, up there on stage. All the vibrations from the speakers... It had to be absolutely insane with him being tuned into those sorts of things because he was blind. Being a guitar player myself, I imagine he could even tell the difference in how each note vibrates. That'd be something!

Part of Jeff's secret of his amazingly rich sound came from custom pickups that came from Vancouver Island. I don't remember the name but they used braided very thin gauge wire coiled and set in resin. He experimented with jazz later on but Jeff was a blues man at heart. This world's better for the talent and passion he shared. RIP Jeff.

steven batty - same here bro - saw him at the Regent Theatre in Dunedin, New Zealand in 1991. I had my near-death motorcycle in April 1990 and lost my entire left leg plus I suffered numerous other internal injuries as well. A girlfriend and I attended his gig and it blew my mind. I asked my girlfriend if she could go backstage after it ended and inquire if it would be possible to meet Jeff. He agreed and off we went. It was only a brief meeting and he opened the door of his room backstage and shook my hand and we introduced ourselves. Told him I was a complete left leg amputee from my accident around 12 months ago and we took our conversation from there. I thought he was a way cool super laid back kinda dude with a superb sense of humor/wit and we laughed together at some blind and amputee jokes. It was easily one of the highlights of my life. I felt his inner strength. Unfathomable. I wasn't the strongest of guys back then (27) but man did Jeff Healey provide me with an opportunity to meet a rock star with a disability who somehow seemed to possess an almost 'god-like' nature whatever that is. I could also feel his compassion and empathy for not only me probably for the whole of mankind to be honest. It was definitely a spine-tingling moment for sure. Have NEVER forgotten meeting the one and only Sir Jeff Healey.

Just got blown away. Goosebumps - and much Respect.
I have been a big ZZ-Fan ever since, but this is a fantastic performance. Very powerful, breathtaking guitar playing and vocals. I must admit, I missed him completely. Great.

DickHertz247 I to. Jeff’s guitar playing is out of this world I agree BUT I prefer. ZZ Tops Vocals better on blue jean blues. Just my personal opinion

I have some bad news for the guy in back waving at him. But what a sound! I love how Jeff plays. It's fast and athletic, without losing the soul and heart and feel, which is a difficult middle ground to find!

nicsandknacksandseans The guy waving at Jeff is like the guy at the Montreux concert who yelled something at Jeff and wasn't loud enough. Jeff said, "You have to speak up. I'm blind."

Gerald Bagari but I still prefer ZZ Top’s vocals better. Just my opinion
