I appreciate the close up views, especially modeling how the garage door gasket will sit on the floor seal. Thanks.
You're welcome and thanks for watching.

I've been subscribed to your scuba channel for years, and now I come across this video. I feel like "I know this guy, and I trust what he says". Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work!
Wow, thanks. Hope you find these informative and funny.

Killer presentation in lay terms. Love the hat. You are a man of hard work and vast knowledge.
Much appreciate your feedback. Just wish I could have learned it earlier and saved a lot of skin.

Great stuff Alec - thanks for always sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it Terry. Lots more to come during our lockdown!
instablaster...
Great information, and you did a great job on showing how it works. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
I have this same problem, I'm going to the hardware store today. Going to put this in, in the spring. Thank you for the help brother. Please keep the video's coming I watch them all. hope all is well on your end during these "twilight zone" time's.
Appreciate the concern Alberta! I'm locked up in my ranch till spring with LOTS of projects for Kevin to shoot. So far it is totally dry inside my garage for the first time in years. Stay safe and warm out there my friend.
Hey Thank You! Brilliant idea and clear instructions. As a Floridian, i could probably start a whole business off this concept.
Go for it! Good in hurricanes too.
Awesome possum! Great video easy to understand no fluff!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you sir! I have a leaky garage and this is an excellent explanation on how to fix mine.
Glad it helped. Fixed my wet garage floor and cold drafts. I heat my garage in winter to 55F to keep all my valuable 'stuff' from freezing. It did cut last winters heating by delaying the propane fill by a month.

First video I’ve seen from you and couldn’t be more satisfied. Thank you. Got a subscriber out of me!!
Much appreciated and lots more to laugh and learn about.

Have watched Alec for years for diving tips. Was surprised to see him cover this obscure topic too! Great stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@AlecPeirceAtTheRanch subscribed. Not just diving tech tips but garage tech tips. Keep up the great work. Have listened to many of your videos!
Great video and just what I needed to see to replace my garage door seals. You have done all the research and made it easier for us. Thank you for that...
Glad it helped. Good luck Sonja.

Can you give us the link for the product?
@@iamkingrichard2032 We have to go look.He doesn't accept paid links.
Great Find!! Thanks for the research & Video!!
Thanks for watching!

excellent video brother the best i have seen
Thank you very much. Hope it helps you out.

A very cheap solution is to prop 1 or 2 floorboards against the bottom of the garage door (depending on width), cut to size, at 45 degrees. Simply knock it flat to open. You can add triangular end pieces if you wish, and cover it with vinyl sheet to protect it. Cheap but effective.
Nice, thanks for sharing with everyone.

THANK YOU 🙏🏻
No problem 😊
Thanks!!
Welcome!
That just might work on the side entry man doors too. Mine leaks underneath every time it rains. Thanks Alec!
You bet
I was checking your videos and they are so good by now you should have a million subscribers….you are giving away wisdom where can you get that ? I guess some people don’t know what is good…anyways I am your new subscriber…I have to replace the bottom seal of my garage door….and the info you have on your video is just what I needed….I try to go the Home Depot route and it didn’t work….best thing is to order it through Amazon and that is it…thanks
Thank you very much. Glad my rants are enjoyed by many. Lots more home and ranch tips to enjoy.

Strewth, you have a garage door that is sixteen feet wide? That is amazing.
Yes, needed to get my ranch gear in for repair. Did I mention its heated too for winter?
A
Very nice. You’ll have to do an update on how the bottom rubber holds up with vehicle’s ect driving in and out to see if that wave like bottom seals up
Good idea Will. We shot this in late Sept. and so far with it's great. Even a strong east wind directly on the garage door cannot push water from rain or snow under it. It really is nice having a dry garage floor again. Thanks.
Update: I have to be careful around the bottom plate when bringing in stuff like the snowmobile, snow blower to but boards down first to protect the rubber. So far I love it.
You found one of trade tricks, go ahead and install a garden hose also, you’ll be happy in the end. That storm shield is great WHEN you have concrete that is level. Most only buy it for sloped floor, at best you create a “DAM” for the elements outside, UNTIL you open the door, then the elements (typically rain water) pour right in. Those that NEED these products, NEED concrete repair. For those in ideal condition environments the info you shared work best and make consistent improvements.
Thanks for the tips!
Great camera work Kevin lol
He tries but since we don't rehearse, he never knows where my hands are.
A
Excellent video! Thank you! So how's it holding up after one year? I need to do this exact same thing because I've got water coming underneath my garage door when we get heavy rain.
It's good, I did a follow up on this after the first winter. Watch #128 to see how it looks. Love mine.

Hi Alec, I just watched this video and was very impressed. Do you mind sharing what the names of the two products you used and where you purchased them. Thanks
Sure Mike. Both were from Amazon.ca, search for this text. I don't include links as folks may think i'm endorsing a specific product, which i'm not. That's why I don't mention the brand in the video but your welcome to this info or find something similar.
Bottom: Garage Door Bottom Threshold Seal Strip Universal Weatherproof Floor Buffer Rubber
Door bottom: BOWSEN Garage Door Bottom Seals Weatherproof Weatherstrip Threshold Buffering Sealing High Performance EPDM Rubber Gasket
Good luck.

Great video. I just bought the floor threshold rubber seal. what adhesive did you use when you glued it to your garage floor?
A caulk that was for rubber and concrete. Can't remember the name but from Home Depot.
Can you put a link to the products, please? I have a terrible flooding problem because of water coming through the garage. This could help. Great video! Keep it up. Thank you.
This was from Home Depot or Canadian Tire. Most similar stores should have it. Sorry I did't keep the part number before shooting this.
A.
Great video Alec! You really should sign up to be an Amazon Affiliate so you earn a commission each time you list an Amazon product. Super simple to do. You won't get rich but you may earn a few hundred per month as I do.
I did think about it but I'm retired, like Kevin, and rather enjoy making videos that making commissions. Also I like the freedom to review something and say how I feel without any commission concerns. Glad you like these.
A
Great video I can't find any of these products at my Canadian Tire or Home Depot
Sorry to hear that. At Homedepot.ca, search for "Gray Garage Door Threshold" for the floor seal and "Garage Door Bottom" for the door or top part. Key is to align the floor 'lip' to the door's upper curved part. First I installed the upper door seal (one fits one way). Then I cut a 2" wide floor strip and tested exactly where to position the floor for the tightest seal. Once done, mark the in/out and layout the full strip. Worked great for me.
A
@@AlecPeirceAtTheRanch Thank you
Problem with rubber seal is it can be eaten by critters thus access in garage.
That is not a problem I have experienced with these door sealers. Only damage comes from me forgetting to carefully cross the threshold with heavy equipment, tractors, ATVs, bikes, mowers and other needed ranch gear.
A
With the glue down seal, how do you get water out when you wash the floor?
Good question. A push broom gets most out and over the lip then its my wet shop vacuum to get the floor totally dry.
A
That will work to keep water out of the garage. What can we use to keep the wives and kids out?
An air compressor work great for me!
Is the floor threshold rubber seal will hold when you pass with a car on it?
Yes, its a very hard rubber so cars, tractors and such will not permanently depress it.
A
Do you have any links to where you can buy those strips from?
I don't but it was from Home Depot in Canada. Should be an easy Google search if not.
A
Do have the manufacture and name for both seals?
Sorry I don't John but it was a Home Depot so any major supplier will have them. Just look for the top and bottom seal shapes I show. Take care.
A.
What's a grage?
A Canadian garage with an accent.
A
Need product links or, at least, manufacturer's nomenclature. It's not too late. Help us find these products.
I do supply product info in the video description but I generally don't endorse any one product, just the idea of how it can help. Note some viewers are in different continents so specific products are not always available to every viewer (some don't realize that). The door seals were from Amazon, a Google search will bring up equivalent items near your home. Hope this helps Mark.
Can you give a link to these products please!
Search HomeDepot and you will find it. I don't accept paid links.
@@AlecPeirceAtTheRanch your a great guy!
The bottom part is called a “Threshold”
That's the word I was looking for. Thanks.
A.
What about snow melt off your vehicle it will be trapped in your garage
I have a floor drain inside the garage to prevent that. A few times I pulled in a vehicle/tractor/ATV from outside to work in it so a floor drain is very handy.
A.
Source of the seals?
Home Depot but probably any home repair store will have them. Just watch for the matching upper and lower seals.
A
Where do you buy these?
Home Depot, Canadian Tire (in Canada). Most any place that sells garage parts.
