    I want to live where there are Natural Health Stores, Farmer's Market, Peace and Quiet, Hiking Trails, Beautiful Scenery and Parks, Malls. I want a mixture, like a Suburban feel.

    • @LivingInCharlotte
      @LivingInCharlotte  Před 4 měsíci +1

      You'll find plenty of Farmers' Markets around the area - www.axios.com/local/charlotte/2023/04/20/charlotte-area-farmers-market-guide-90626
      Only a few true malls around - SouthPark, Carolina Place, and Concord Mills are the three that come to mind, then we also have an outlet mall on the west side of Charlotte not far from the airport.
      As for hiking trails, you'll find several around the area, mostly connected greenways, but if you want serious hiking, you may have to drive a little bit. Crowders Mountain might be a good spot to check out.
      Are you thinking of relocating to Charlotte?

      Yes, I am. Ready to leave Pennsylvania. I appreciate the mountains here, But I'm ready for a transition. I've spoken to a few native North Carolinians, and they've been so breathtakingly friendly and pleasant. 😊. If that's the general vibe there in NC, that's definitely where I wanna be. However, I do have some concerns about how the public properly prepares for tornadoes. I've neer experienced and would want to do all that I can to look out for myself and my neighbors if possible. @@LivingInCharlotte

    1) what’s ur opinion on charlotte as a forever location for empty nesters ? 2) What would be a good location for empty nesters buying a home with @10-12 years pre retirement. So commute to city and/or airport important for the next few years 3) what could be the average home cost (3/4bed with a fenced yard) 4) would you recommend charlotte (or just over the border in SC) as a location to retire considering taxes of all kind (retirement income, estate, property etc.) and quality of life 5) how would you rate NC/ Charlotte compared to PA for retirement.

      I'm going to do my best to answer all of your questions, but would love the opportunity to connect via zoom to dig deeper - feel free to schedule here: calendly.com/christen-ripoli

    • @LivingInCharlotte
      @LivingInCharlotte  Před 4 měsíci

      1) Charlotte is an amazing place for empty nesters!! That's one reason why so many developers are building 55+ communities here. We have all of the amenities that you may enjoy, plus phenomenal weather, and proximity to beaches & mountains. Not to mention, an international airport, meaning easy transportation for all of your travel needs.

    • @LivingInCharlotte
      @LivingInCharlotte  Před 4 měsíci

      2) All of the suburbs surrounding Charlotte would be perfect for what you're looking for. The best scenario is to decide what you'd like to be close to and work backwards from there. For instance, is proximity to Uptown important? Or do you need to be near the airport? How about being near an interstate that will easily get you to where you need to travel (ie, if you will be visiting friends or family along I-77 or I-85)? Being close to the airport or city, Mount Holly, Belmont, Lake Wylie, Ballantyne, Steele Creek, and even Stanley would be great spots to look at.

    • @LivingInCharlotte
      @LivingInCharlotte  Před 4 měsíci

      3) The average home cost will vary greatly based on the location, but you can certainly find something between $400,000-$500,000 in most of the areas around Charlotte. We can get far more granular with that average once we pinpoint where you'd like to end up.

    • @LivingInCharlotte
      @LivingInCharlotte  Před 4 měsíci

      4) Both NC & SC would be amazing. I have heard a lot of people tell me that SC would be a bit better regarding taxes, but it's tough to completely pit one state against the other without other factors being involved.

    Hello. Thanks for making this video. Really informative. Are there any areas that are good for a family looking for a bigger house with a bit of space/land, but within a very very short commute of the main husle and bustle auch as entertainment, sports to watch, and sport for the kids to participate in. I'm British and my wife and I (and young kids) are looking to relocate to America and were looking for this kind of a balance but dont know if its possible.

    • @LivingInCharlotte
      @LivingInCharlotte  Před 4 měsíci +1

      It all depends on 1) How much land you're referring to and 2) What you consider a "short commute". If you're looking for a home that's around 3000 - 4000 square feet, with about 1/2-1 acre of property, and within a 30-60 minute drive of Uptown, you could consider Weddington, Waxhaw, Lake Wylie, Denver, or Mint Hill.

    We are looking to move to NC/SC and open the restaurant (elevated casual made from scratch kitchen, breakfast, lunch and dinner +alcohol). We also have 2 lower-school age children. What would be the best area to consider if we want to open the place in a wealthier laid back area (right now we are in coastal delaware in a predominantly retiree area) and live within a reasonable commute time at the place with good conservative public or private schools. Access to golf courses would be a plus.

    • @LivingInCharlotte
      @LivingInCharlotte  Před 4 měsíci +1

      That's so exciting! I would definitely suggest visiting the area to find out what the best fit is, but here are some ideas to try: Weddington, Waxhaw, Marvin, Wesley Chapel, or Indian Trail in Union County; Mount Holly or Belmont in Gaston County; Concord or Harrisburg in Cabarrus County; Davidson or Huntersville in Northern Mecklenburg County, or the South Charlotte area (Ballantyne or South Park). Truth be told, we have some incredible places here that might fit the bill and you'll want to visit to see where the best opportunity lies for you.

    I hope this message finds you well. I am currently residing in Buffalo, NY. I am reaching out as I will be relocating to North Carolina in late August (2024), and I am in need of your expertise in finding a suitable single-family house with 2-3 bedrooms.
    I have already taken care of my relocation expenses, and I am eager to secure a new home for myself and my four-legged friend, a Great Dane. As my canine companionship is invaluable to me, finding a pet-friendly residence is crucial.
    I would greatly appreciate your assistance in navigating the real estate market in the area and identifying single home for rent that meet our needs. Your guidance in this process would be invaluable.

    Where are the best Hospitals and healthcare for preexisting conditions like COPD?

    • @LivingInCharlotte
      @LivingInCharlotte  Před 3 měsíci

      Both Novant and Atrium have phenomenal healthcare options throughout the region. In most of the neighboring suburbs, you'll find a hospital or emergency room within a short drive. In Midtown Medical Plaza, you would find the Novant Health Pulmonary and Critical Care Facility, which may be a possible option for you.
