    Ft Sam is the best duty station in the US period bro. I loved my time there. I'm from South Texas but I'm not being bias. The night life in SA is amazing. And I was only 2 hours from my hometown. I never took vacation days lol.
    My Top 3 wishlist picks were
    1.Ft Sam
    2. Germany
    3. Hawaii

      Thanks for the comment and two in one day? You going for the record? Thank you Sir!!
      I was stationed at Carson from 2007-2009 and it was amazing. I literally did not want to leave and tried hard as heck to stay. I’ll have to check out Daegu, I’ve been to Carrol before for TDY but couldn’t leave post because it was for a class. Again, thanks for the support of my channel big brother.

    Here is my top 5 (based off my experience and opinions from others I know)
    1. Bragg (I’m from NC but I believe that you can’t beat the location at all. Right off 95 and have places like DC, ATL, Charlotte, beaches and mountains close by.)
    2. Hawaii (Aloha vibes are real unless you’re in 25th ID. Shafter is what you want. Everything is slow paced and chill.)
    3. Carson (Never been but hear a ton of good things)
    4. Germany (I hear it’s travelers paradise. Cheap to visit other places)
    5. Jackson (Same reasons as you bro lol)

    • @BigBroDre
      @BigBroDre  Před 3 lety

      Thanks for watching brother!
      1. People love Bragg for some reason, it’s cool and I like it for all the reasons you said, but All American week kinda turned me off, the excess Army is too much for my brain lol 😂.
      2. Never been to Hawaii but I really want to go. My brother is there and hates it but I’m sure he’s just being dramatic.
      3. Man Carson is awesome, the views, the food, even the unit was ok, I was in the CAB aviation.
      4. Germany is beautiful and so close to Italy, France, Czech and a plethora of other cool European spots. Belgium is pretty dope too.
      5. I can’t say enough about Jackson, it’s just a really chill place to be stationed. Myrtle Beach and Charleston are a plus, if you get a chance to go, don’t say no bro.
      Again thanks for the support!

      Thanks for watching! You will love out there, that was my 2nd duty station, had a blast. A couple quick tips before you get there. Start running more, up hills if you can. The elevation is hell and it doesn’t matter where you’re from, you will feel it the first time you run. Stay away from the WEED!! That sh** is legal for everybody but you, so leave it alone brother. Last but not least, prostitution is not legal in the United States, no matter if it looks like it in Colorado Springs, they will lock you up and put it on the internet. Have fun, travel the state and good luck to you.

    Sir, How much choice do you get after WOCS on your follow on duty assignment.?

    • @BigBroDre
      @BigBroDre  Před 3 lety +1

      Not a whole lot. You can talk to branch or switch duty stations with your classmates but you pretty much have to take what they have. You have to think of it from a practical Army standpoint. You will be starting from the lowest Officer rank in the Army, branch will pretty much guide your career until your first CW2 PCS. Calling branch can’t hurt though, once you get orders(RFO).

    I have been stationed all over and without a doubt Germany is the best. Granted Heidelberg was the best but now is closed. A close second is Honolulu Ft. Shafter, however if you are prone to Rock Fever maybe you shouldn’t go there. Japan (Yokohama, Zama, and Tokyo) was a good assignment (my first assignment) and it got even better when I got Tokyo as my duty assignment. My worst assignment was Ft. Irwin, CA. I am sure it didn’t help that I was assigned there in Jan 1981 (Post was not activated until July 1981).

      Tom,
      Thanks for the comment and supporting the channel, i appreciate it.
      Germany is definitely a top pick, from the people to the beer to the food, it’s all great over there! Japan is another wonderful place from a cultural aspect, and of course the food(I love to eat!) I am most definitely not a fan of Fort Irwin. It’s just too sandy and isolated. The closest city is 30 minutes away and it still sucks and has sucked since 81, no updates to name.
      Again thanks for watching, take care Sir!

      @@BigBroDre , I want to thank you and all veterans for your and their service. I enjoy watching your video and others to see what we as service members really enjoy about the different places we can be assigned to. Unfortunately a few of the places I was assigned to have now been closed, Ft McPherson, GA, Ft. Benjamin Harrison, IN, and Heidelberg, Germany. I enjoyed Germany so much that 22 years after leaving I was fortunate enough to return as a civilian for the Army and worked for 10 years till my retirement from Civil Service and I am still here. Keep up the good videos.

    Do you think going AGR as a warrant is any more better than active duty ??

    • @BigBroDre
      @BigBroDre  Před 3 lety +2

      For some reason, I did it see this in my notifications, my bad for the delay.
      So, AGR is like one of the best kept secrets in the Army, because you’re in the Reserves, serving on Active Duty. To be honest, they’re essentially the same as far as benefits, pay, housing and the trivial stuff. Your experience will be a little different as far as duty stations, flight hours and missions.
      With that said, I don’t think one is better than the other aesthetically. The Reserves is a little more relaxed and little less invasive. They also offer some monetary bonus options sometimes and you don’t have to move around as much as Active Duty. Seems like you have quite the choice to make, good luck Marc.
