I have problems understanding when and where to ward so I think this video will be very helpful indeed. Thank you, Lathy!
Thank you for doing such an awesome job with these guides prof. doc. Lathyrus
Ever since I started watching your bard vids I've started smashing my plat games. The game is so much easier if you play correctly and bard is OP af so that helps a ton.
Awesome guide!! I definitely need to get better at warding
very cool video, ty lathy c:
I literally looked for a video of yours about warding yesterday and was like damn he doesnât have any. Perfect timing lol
Great Video!
can you do a video for s14 support wards please? i like so much all your video and i like how you play, very good player!
Thanks Lathyrus
with the new map definitly an updated version would be even better
Am saving this later to enjoy with my dinner
Hey Lathyrus, I have never seen you build it, but what is your opinion on Wardstone against team comps with Evelynn, Twitch, Kha Zix to finish off the build?
Edit: talking about Bard
Super insightful. But you didn't talk about midgame from redside. Where do I put my wards then.
when you started listing off how low elo supports ward... are you spectating my games or something lmao. srsly i just warded those by default because i always assumed they were decent placements. will definitely try this advice
Also at 10:50 in the video you mention that its okay that they clear the vision. But depending on the situation in the game if the game is pretty equal the 4 man mid should get push and force out your 3 team mates because they cant fight without you. And you being back at the dragon at 20-30 sec left is kinda dunno. At 60 seconds these wards should already be up and you should be back with set of new wards at that 60-50 sec Mark.
im fairly confident in warding iv conceptualized it as a ward net and layers roughly lining up with the towers.
what im having issues with is warding on defense (iv been doing the 3 wards suggested in the video) is there a benefit to recalling and edging that ward net out closer to red buff?
some things that were not covered in the video and i hope there is a follow up video covering them.
are there circumstances where you go back to blue or yellow trinket.
some champions have additional strategies to help with warding safely lessening the requirement of having a team escort you to ward.
-shaco bard can ward fairly deep and get out safely if caught
-lux zyra can create vision and control zones from a long range to safely navigate you to where you want to ward
obviously, there are many more unique champion interactions to warding i hope to see that discussed.
From personal experience, it's better to ward in strategic spots only. A friend from Dota who got top 30 twice told me a good idea: "If you want to secure your carry farm, where do you want to ward? You want to ward where enemies MUST BE. You already know that enemies are not where your carry is, so you want to know if they are where they should be or they left the spot and disappeared."
Essentially, a ward spotting where enemy MUST BE right now is a best ward most cases. It shows you with confidence whether enemy is doing what they are supposed to do or broke pattern (e.g. jungler didnt cross from one quadrant to another? Gank/Objective ward is decent)
Ward net won't necessarily spot you enemy and won't necessarily let you have vision of a brush if fight is to break out (or deny vision if it's Drake/Herald/Nash - I like to put pink inside pit when I can, it disables all vision inside)
You can think of this way: you don't want to come back to base for wards too often and changing "ward net" is taking resources and endangering you. When people refer to ward net, from what I know they generally mean "where vision lets you ward/roam safely", they don't mean you have to move it. For example, when a lane gets pushed in you may want to place a ward against a gank from your side. But if you push lane in one minute after a kill, you'd rather have 1-2 wards to rush in deep and place them, then recall. But if you want to be proactive, not reactive, and methodically place ward nets, you may miss these opportunities
60 seconds before drake is Too late. You push, word and its 40-45 seconds before drake. You back and you come back to a teamfight or late. What will happen most of the time the enemy team will start pushing in and clearing vision because its 20 seconds before drake and u are still running from base. The correct time is 1:30 before drake and better time is 2:15 for deeper vision so that you can catch jungler or supp trying to clear and ward for 1:30. The better way of using vision is predicting ahead of time on what everyone will want to do.
bro heâs top 10 EUW lol
Good video, too bad is no longer useful due to map changes
Ward, recall, sweeper....as a sweeper first item, I now feel stupid. Awe XD
This is probably basic stuff for every challenger player yet almost nobody talks about the warding, at the ver least not that deep. I've used to throw control wards in those brushes just as you've said Lathy, the moment i actually saw them almost instantly deleted whenever jg of enemy team was around lvl 5-6 i just stopped doing it.
When im red side im warding ping ward just above the Red buff camp behind the drake pit and in 9/10 times it goes unnoticed through like 60% of the game. Same thing about the brush from enemy blue side towards the mid lane two entrys of enemy tower. Ward there usually never gets spotted cause enemy bot lane if rotating they are going either from our t ower side or from the river. Low elo i guess ;/
