    This was amazing to watch! I’m an avid Stryd user and seeing you at their lab was epic. Excellent video and results!

    At 15:35 when you put that your vo2 max is 88.5, that isn't correct, it's actually 66.7. You can validate that by dividing the number in the 'VO2' column (62) for that row by 66.7, and you get 88.5%, which is what that number represents. Although.. I guess you correct that later on in the video

    Matt Is one of the best sportman that I saw for his stability in training and a very good example of the results that an athlete with his mental and phisycal sacrifices can realize.I Hope he Will make 2:20 in Marathon.Great result.Alessandro Difonso Borella Comaschi e Marinella Goberti del Giglio,Italy

    i couldnt and would not find a better vo2 max and LT test results better explained like in this video its so informative!!!!

    I had the exact same VO2max score when I last tested (closer to sea level though). Nowhere close to Matt's times though. I did continually improve it over the years (about 7 ml in 4 or 5 yrs) with repeated testing, so the guy's comment about getting accustomed to the mask is very true.

    Loved this, Matt!!!!! I’m wondering if you knew you had a narrower threshold range than other marathoners tested…..this might help explain why it’s so important for you to run off of feel and maybe it’s another reason you didn’t cramp at Indy and were still able to run a 2:25 last year. Exciting to watch you train and hope to see you at Indy again!

    Nice video thanks for sharing. Looking forward to how you perform. You taking come collagen for the Achilles too? Also maybe track workouts the opposite direction? If you’re going counter clockwise probably putting more strain on your Achilles due to the longer stride length needed in a small circle.
    Also would love to see you get a lactate meter and go deep into some sub LT2 training. Would be an awesome journey to watch!

    Great video! As a Stryd coach who also runs a small testing lab, I find it hugely beneficial to see how the mathematical models align with the lab data! Curious if there was any discussion on raising VO2max to allow for more space to grow LT2/VT2 (raise the ceiling) instead of just trying to raise the %.

  • @cdricbl

    Do you think you can still increase your VO2 where it is limited to 68 and you only need to increase the thresholds ?

      If you lose weight your vo2max will improve but i doubt he can shave off a lot from his build

    I've had terrible Achilles pain recently mate, I haven't stopped running and have been doing these static holds from the this video and it's really helping!

      Good for you to find help! I sorted my Achilles tendonitis two years ago with the help of a physio. Started with heel raise static holds and progressed to single leg heel raises with additional weight of 8/1216/20 etc. Look for information on heavy slow resistance.

    Sir, I've run 2:18, so perhaps I know a few things about this. Get away from the treadmill. Use a simple Timex watch, but don't time every run. You don't need to do a lot of interval training, just mileage, long runs and tempo runs. I wish you well!

    • @Nyelands
      @Nyelands Před měsícem +3

      How will a Timex watch help?

      For a 2.18, how much mileage on average were you covering per week.?
