They will include animals, guns, skins etc. The team has worked on previous Cabela's hunting games, and there are quite a few hunters among them. Archery is on the list of stuff they want to add, they just wanted to focus on rifles at launch. Less stuff to go wrong I guess. FOV is something they are looking at adding. Edit: With the bar on the caller I would guess that spamming it is bad and recalling when the triangle is back over the highlighted bar is best.

"FOV is something they are looking at adding" things like this and key binding etc and other common things left out in a console made games and ports to PC, can be coded, done and tested in 1 day... infact for basic code practices keybindings is basic 101 and occurs by default once the game engine code has been made functional (can even be saved as a template and just copy/pasted in, with only menu graphics needing adjusting), so in actuality ur looking at around 1-2 hours work to add PC keybinding tops, specially as most menus are generic and adopt the same menu system as all other sub-categories. however ur standard console dev mind set is to just skip it... use the dirty cheap method which is to drop anything that can be coded in once they confirm profits have been made = if they dont make a good earning = these basic inclusions wont ever happen... and this can also be separated into confirmed sales for eg PC, so if 75% of sales are for console = they may drop support for PC... eg no update to add obvious missing things only retarded devs leave out = also shows lack of pride in their work, because a dev could also do this within their own workload and submit it for inclusion = it will get included unless management is beyond retarded, as it reduces potential post launch developer costs. so when a dev has no work pride and the studio mirrors this = you get things like COTW and other AAA releases = min effort, yet more then happy to charge for every little thing and also makes excuses to not fix something that takes again 1-2 hours of real world work to code it and test and can be hot fixed day 1... yet instead takes weeks, months, years or never.
The deer around here live in logging areas. they don't sprint away with truck noises cuz they're used to them. Maybe they actually took note of that givin the amounts of roads..they kind of just stand there and watch, and if you stop to watch they slowly slink away. Also maybe a glitch.
I've seen it both ways. in more rural and populated areas they won't spook. but when it comes to more remote areas like where you're hunting in the game, deer will spook at the smallest unatural noices
Have to admit, got recommended one of your vids out the blue, and have been watching your videos all morning. 100% getting this, having never played a hunting game before. There's basically nothing else coming out for months, and for £35 on the PS5, with a laid back trophy list like this has that focuses on hunting specific game using X and Y techniques which I love the idea of, and the slow pace overall...this feels like a real nice change to get for once instead of the usual AAA stuff. I loved the hunting in RDR 2, so yeah, I'll grab this.

The crosses on the walls in the cabin surprised me. I’m really glad that they added those. I wouldn’t expect a game nowadays to include a religious symbol (positively).
Game looks amazing, probably going to pick it up. Not sure if my PC even can run it, but I plan to get a new one soonish. I like Call of the Wild, but I don't like terrain in that game. There's alot of grass and dense brushes that get in the way, even with vantage points. However this seems more realistic.
games built for console so basically even a potato should be able to play any console derived game... problem is console allows for dirty cheap game coding = one reason major names love console = costs them less to make the game, problem for PC is when they port it, thats basically all they do... they then use the extra PC hardware muscle to tank the bad game code, eg bad optimization, otherwise most games could easily run on VR maxed settings as well, without a need for a high end rig to tank the poor optimization. which is why this game is recommended with a 2070 super = low budget AAA game code, its like comparing the same 2 cloned indie games on PC, both look the same, play the same etc, but one cost a $100,000 the other a $10,000, why? because one has good quality code, took 6 months to code... the other has AAA quality code eg sh** console grade code that took 1 month to code. in real life if u ever been for a hike of-trail or been proper hunting = you will find allot of dense brush, unless the land is maintained eg back burning/brush clearing, cattle station etc or very arid... so in that sense COTW is more realistic, while way of the hunter adds some un-realistic levels of color vibrance that looks better to the eye, but not so realistic and provides a less obstructed view for hunting by comparison, which as its suggested the land on the map is owned by multiple entities needing you to acquire a permit for each = suggests lands are not left to grow wild, so if so = somewhat realistic, but even then for large properties... u still end up with allot of dense brush, specially further away from the property manager home base / main trails, unless they have extensive livestock numbers grazing to keep most the brush/regrowth flat = why most large cattle stations slowly turn to desert, same as large land holding that get regular back burns = does the same = lot of cattle stations also do regular back burns = why they are more arid then the cloned cattle station next door that doesnt... so next time ur gov / fire services tell you back burning is a great idea... sure it may temporarily reduce the risk of ur house burning down, long term eg 10+ years = increases the risk of flash fires, as more of the land has been converted to "grass" lands and low level brush, that can allow for crown fires to occur and or just very fast/hot burning brush fires... not normal in the natural woodlands/forest (unless man has interfered and the best way to resolve it is to let things return back to their natural state), due to dense mulch layers/ shade cover that limits grass/brush growth unless its a very wet environment = eg not fire friendly being wet all the time anyways, while more arid zones obviously lack the moisture to allow for heavy brush/dense folliage to grow to begin with. food for thought.
Seeing that fallow four star convinced me to buy the game. The fallow antlers in COTW are so unrealistic, these are just perfect. I love them!!! Fallow are my favorite and seeing a game finally not mess them up makes me happy

idk if this game requires that much more patience than cotw cuz you been encountering a lot of animals to me. maybe this game fits into more my style cuz i dont like to camp need zones in cotw. i think the hardest part is that animals will be way easier to spook which probably does require more patience than just shooting something on the spot.
I think the difference is that in COTW you’ll often even have a doe or a cow moose, etc, stuff we barely notice, whereas in WOTH, I feel like every time I find an animal I need to be sure to shoot it since I won’t know when my next chance will be 🤓

Devs have said that bears will not be in game at launch. Bears was delayed. But now I see bears in flinters clip so I actually do not know right now. But expect bears to be released in a update couple of days after launch.
At very long range, can you use a 300 win on deer without penalty so the required energy in the hit is there? Also would love it if the bullets mushroomed in the hit replay. I Like the cavity formation they show gives some thinking to do about shot placement.
I don't know if you covered it during the stream but you noted you didn't know what it was at one point but the small arrow underneath the game calls is an indicator for when to call, if you call before the large white bar it may alert them and if you don't call by the time it goes past it the animals will begin to lose interest hence why that fallow doe began to walk away at 2:13:52 also at 2:17:40 you noted about not totally understanding the percentage of genetic rating and I think I figured it out, say you have an adult 1 star, when you shoot it lets say it's a 70 percent on genetic potentially and a 70 on score for simplicity if it were to develop longer to its full adult potential aka 100 percent it would be a 100 score, I think, I'm pretty sure it goes by whatever it's full score to its age class would be then taking the current percentage of it (I think) like it gets a different full potential per age class say a 60 score would be 100 percent at a young class 80 would be 100 percent at an adult class and 100 would be 100 percent at a mature class if I am understanding properly what the genetic percentage is then I think the genetic potentiality goes by star rating so an adult 1 star is say 80, 2 star is 90, 3 star is 100, 4 star is 110, and 5 star is 120, once again that is purely based off what I am assuming and ther scores are for simplicity. Now saying all that I do not have first hand experience and can nor fully confirm so it may actually just be based off of the mature 100 percent score
Out of curiosity, is it possible to push herds into your territory from other territories where you can't hunt? Like firing a weapon or following them with your vehicle to purposefully get them to go in a specific direction. Then when they're on your land hunt them?
Do the calibers matter for the animals class like in call of the wild. Not sure if I asked this on this video yet if watching it twice but I really would like to know if shooting a fallow with the .300 is bad like in call of the wild. Ruins your score. Or if it’s aloud. Just like shooting a Bison with .22 won’t get you full score. Will it do the same in way of the hunter. I know the .300 damages more meet. But is there a score system like diamond, gold or any way to tell it’s a good trophy. Cuz they make it sound like you want to kill all the old small bucks but then how would they be trophy’s? I know it says young, adult, or mature. But neither of those help you determine like how good of a trophy it is. So what does help you determine how good it is? The star rating? Are all 5 stars the same size? As big as it gets? Or no
If you can zero your scope for 1 kilometer wouldn't it stand to reason animals should render in at that distance? Maybe in highest settings... Does it tell you what animal render distance is when choosing the graphics settings?

I don’t think 50 pound meat waste is that unrealistic with a 300. My family uses 270 and there’s a few times where both front shoulders were completely fucked and we couldn’t take any meat from them
You know what gets me? The fact that some people, without even playing the game, already want this or want that for it. It's just funny. Flinter, you are more fun to watch playing woth than cotw because you hunt irl and it shows.
Can you say something about the "feel" of the rifles? From the Video it seems to me that they lack a bit of *punch* I mean that the sound of the rifles seems to be way to weak/silent and lacks a bit of *oomph* same with the recoil. it seems like every rifles has the recoil of a 22lr Does it feel different when playing?

It would be a addon you could choice to use or not. Even air guns .22 pellets have a option for a suppressor in the uk. Just would be a nice touch adds to the hunting experience hopefully there be guillie suits. With the suppressors they can add bullet drop so when used we will get penalised for the dulled down noise experience.
It is just going to be released and if you my friend want a game that devs can work on for years. Then you cannot put everything in the game at launch. They need to earn money to. Don't you know that? Hunting simulator gave us 1 dlc. One. Then they abandoned the game to probably work on hunting sim 3. Cash grabs it is called.

The one thing I don’t like is that shoulder shots don’t kill instantly yes it might not be “fair” but just make the trophy rating go down there is no instance in real life where you shoot an animal in the shoulder and it gets up and runs away the only thing I have to say I don’t like about this game so far

ive got autowalk. its a little weight the size of a thimble. I just put it on my key and away i go.. but F works too

You know what gets me? The fact that some people, without even playing the game, already want this or want that for it. It's just funny. Flinter, you are more fun to watch playing woth than cotw because you hunt irl and it shows.
I definitely enjoy playing it since it is more realistic and as more irl hunting aspects to it
Can you say something about the "feel" of the rifles? From the Video it seems to me that they lack a bit of *punch*
I mean that the sound of the rifles seems to be way to weak/silent and lacks a bit of *oomph* same with the recoil. it seems like every rifles has the recoil of a 22lr

recoil-wise cotw is better yes. But the sound of the guns in cotw are soooo lackluster

It would be a addon you could choice to use or not. Even air guns .22 pellets have a option for a suppressor in the uk. Just would be a nice touch adds to the hunting experience hopefully there be guillie suits. With the suppressors they can add bullet drop so when used we will get penalised for the dulled down noise experience.

Hunting simulator gave us 1 dlc. One. Then they abandoned the game to probably work on hunting sim 3. Cash grabs it is called.

The one thing I don’t like is that shoulder shots don’t kill instantly yes it might not be “fair” but just make the trophy rating go down there is no instance in real life where you shoot an animal in the shoulder and it gets up and runs away the only thing I have to say I don’t like about this game so far
