5 Things I Wish I Had Known About CRUSHING Every HELLTIDE (Diablo 4 Season 4)

- As I stepped into Helltides this season, there were so many changes that there's little things that I noticed that were super-beneficial and I actually didn't take advantage of them early on. I think it would have sped up my leveling a lot and I just want to make sure you don't skip any of these. They're great for experience gear, everything you need in early game all the way into endgame.

What i do is pop a brain , go to the summoning event , get 525 cinders , get the mystery and steel chest , go to second zone rince repeat. Fast wolf xp , fast cinders and if the whisper is slay 300 demons or 75 swarmers you will complete that np.
I like this rotation a lot, it's what I started gravitating to trying to get more chests and more whispers.

I just want to add while I think while Helltides are great for leveling, I prefer to do my t4 leveling in nightmare dungeons after doing 1 or 2 successful helltides. Then farm helltides for gear after you can get the 925 level gear. So once you get in t4, get everything ancestral, then go nightmare dungeons to level glyphs and paragons. After you get that done then go back to helltides to finish your gear sets with the 925 drops and hopefully greater affixes you need. You will be more than ready for the pit and to finish masterworking. So far leveling goes faster when you just look at gear thresholds as legendary, legendary with all codexes, sacred, ancestral and then 925 ancestral (greater affix). You dont have to waste too much time parsing over gear early on as long as you have a decent build, some classes may have to upgrade weapons frequently but you will focus on getting to the endgame gearing faster and that will be worth your time.
I like that strategy a lot. I don't like dungeons much and I definitely procrastinate to the last minute, but I'll try that with the rouge I just started.
Yea I salvage everything unless it's a better item than the one I got. And if I see myself slowing my progression then I will upgrade gear. But I'm usually into t4 in 5 to 8 hours
You can also get into pit if you have a friend to have guaranteed 925 gear equippable at 55.
As much as people seem to not like doing whispers this season, they give a lot of gold and i have not had problems masterworking since i started running them every now and again
I've had good success with the whispers too. I just make sure to see that the helltide whisper quests are and make sure I do them as I go.
@@OwnModeGaming The helltide whispers take too long to do, cause they all have 3 steps, the ones outside are super fast to do. Every 10 min max you have one whisper.
I still do whispers. I do them only when they are inside of a helltide. Or I go outta my way when I only need 1 to 3 whispers
almost my main goal when i enter a hell tide is to hit up the whispers - more often then not i'm hitting the hell tide with a lot less than 50 minutes left and getting those whispers is nice for the cash.
my general rotation for not getting bored... helltide-> legion -> nightmare x2-4-> boss if there is one-> loop
@JeffMartinEquinox I cant get myself to do legions. That's my least favorite thing to do. And right now I'm trying to figure out why the blacksmiths masterwork section isn't working
Own, another tip that they may or may not fix tomorrow... On Helltides when the threat meter is full, as the name suggest, you get way more mobs etc. So there is a "glitch" that when it is full, you logoff and logon again, and the bar will stay full for the rest of the Helltide.

The Doomsayers are definitely worth doing too. They'll drop cinders, spawn an elite, drop a bunch of legendaries, or spawn a loot goblin

i think the best big chunk of money is greater caches from the whispering tree - i got like 10M in one yesterday... even the lesser caches give a good amount
make sure you are doing the whisper bonuses - each helltide region has at least 2 whispers and grabbing those caches between sessions will pump up your money
the other nice thing is that the whisper area has everything you need to process items...: stash, blacksmith, jeweler, occultist, and vender for selling stuff - all in one nice little area

@@OwnModeGaming 1 whisper "CACHE" - you know when you turn in to the tree - my non greater at level 100 are in the 7M range - the greaters are in the 10-12M range
With the first thing you mentioned, DO NOT participate in that event unless you know you will survive. Because if not, you will just end up losing any cinders you have & won’t be able to unlock any chests. I usually skip that boss event if I’m looking to get to a chest.

The ravenous one is pretty hard and eventually I'd drop off when my potions/healing couldn't keep up. My necro only had potions to heal and it wasn't enough. My barb had Iron skill and three healing shouts and potions and it still wasn't enough.
It took me playing with my Druid and having three sources of healing to finally realize it is not endless but a finite event if we can last that long. It doesn't help that the potions are so weak.
Yeah, it can be rough.
Potions are the biggest scM since snake oil. 10 milling gold for. 200 extra health regen when you have 20k health? Lol
Really tired of finding the perfect item only to have it bricked by tempering. Tempered an item and got the same damn temper everytime until it bricked.
Same here, I bricked a 3 greater affix the other day and was pretty pissed. I've only seen 6 total and this was the first where it rolled with all three of the affixes that I wanted.
@@OwnModeGaming damn, yea that sucks. I've only found 2 triples and neither had what I was looking for. I finally found a double that had what I was looking for and I figured I'd just roll the last one on after tempering, I tempered it and got dmg% to distant all 5 times, I'm a fricking druid wolf who fights close up, didn't help me one bit. So much for "random" rolls. Nothing random about getting the same damn thing 5 times in a row😩.

Would you have an idea how to survive the blood pillars throughout to the end?
I've tried stacking 232 Life per second greater affixes on multiple pieces.
Only problem there was if you have a super high total life pool, it's too weak to help you keep life topped off.
BoneStorm and BloodMist obviously right at the end with heavy potion popping as well.
The only other things I can think of is getting a barrier build up, making sure you are sharing damage with the golem, look for defensive potions to run, don't run mindcages and if all else fails run in a group. Hopefully one of those helps. I think it goes without saying but also cap armor and resistances.

from my experience Helltide loot also drops more GAs than anywhere else in the game, though that's probably just because you're getting showered in so much loot
I notice the same. It's a little weird how much more. I'm over pit level 80 and it drops less. It doesn't make sense.

for the love of god if your build sucks and you dont have capped res DO NOT use profane mindgages in HARDCORE, these youtubers tend to forget hardcore exist too and they should focus maybe on both sides of spectrum. if you are multiplayer and not ssf then using profane might be good from the start. be careful and good luck

Forgot the wolves bonus from opening the chests also in Torment 2 the chests give you 120 points toward the wolf's rewards

In terms of gold, sell gear dont salvage. I usually net around 2-3mil off a full pack of legendaries. Its helped me stock pile up pretty quickly

With the soul spires, dont they end if you walk out of the circle?
I've gotten knocked out of the circle and it ended
They do end early if you get knocked out or walk out of the circle. I have been knocked out numerous times when it was going very well.
The profane mindcage also ups the item level of items dropping

i wish i had known at the beginning i can run bolts, mindcage, and antivenin all at the same time... i knew antivenin i could run together, but i didn't know i could run all 3 lol... leveling would have been a little better...
i also just found out bundled herbs drop like crazy in legion events... i would have started doing those early... i was always running out of herbs, and it limited my elixirs/incenses
That is a nice stack. The legion thing would have been good to know, I don't think i did a legion until I hit 100 with my necro.

if you're alone do not wait for people to come to the maiden. spend 3 yourself then people will come. it's a waste of time to wait and baneful hearts are plenty. also if it's the last 10 minutes of helltide people would leave because it's time to spend your cinders
I just me if you are doing a string of maiden fights and there are a other players give them a few seconds and if nobody goes for it just load it. I'm talking maybe 10-20 but not if no one is there.
Helltides are loads of fun, but don't forget nightmare dungeons to level up glyphs.
I recommend grinding those no later than level 80. So, you max all glyphs and get near lvl 100.
@@OwnModeGaming I just hit 80 and had 1 glyph at lvl 7 the rest at 1, so I was way behind. When I logged off I had first glyph at 15 second at 9. I want to grind this weekend to get them all to 15, but I also want to grind helltides to get vampire boss mats to try for the frozen orb unique amulet I still need.
Hoping they increase angel breath drops.
Hellborne always spawns solo from a meteor. There’s a pack 5 seconds or so prior.
I'm seeing both with and without but I am leveling each class now, so I'm all over the place level wise. Maybe it's different in different world tiers or its affected by mindcage.
The hell borne always spawns alone at the end. The mobs with multiple elite spawn before it reaches 0
I get a pile more often than not.
@@OwnModeGaming well, it’s probably from something other than the terror meter then. I just took 3 very OP chars to full rep and they clear everything very fast. For the last 20% of the terror bar, there is never any monsters spawning, unless I’m moving around a lot or have other players with decreasing terror meters nearby

So re that elixir for 10+ lvls..If monsters in WT4 are already way higher than you, for some reason it doesn’t add 10 lvls on top. So if you are lvl 60 at helltide. It doesn’t work?
I'm pretty sure it adds an 10 additional levels.

Probably should have mentioned the helltide threat meter glitch. Log out during the cool down, log back in quickly, and the gage stays full. Careful though you have to be able to stay in rhe same place for 8 seconds to log out.
Is it still working I thought that was going to be fixed by now.
If not it’s a solid tip for keeping monster density super high.

Game gives you a lot of hearths to open the helltide event while you keep leveling characters like a maniac but once you have main, you just run out of it and then you need to leech other... Great design.
It's been weird with some classes I have more than enough and they keep replenishing, but other seem to keep running and even using up my stockpile from my main. It generally goes better if you use mindcage and do other things in Helltides other than running maiden. The maiden seems to slow the threat meter dump. I usually just run maiden collect a ton of cinders 600-1000 and then just fight my way to chest rather than using the horse, then I get more Hellborne summons along the way.
I find Hellspires to be much faster Cinders than the maiden, but of course you dont get as many legendaries so its a give and take. If the aim is jump in and farm all chests as quick as possible just chain Hellspires.
It comes down to how fast you take down the maiden, but I think in most cases your right!
I have completed the campaign with my sorceress, I still cannot master work the icon is still greyed out what gives.
Masterwork is a mid to late endgame mechanic you must complete a nightmare dungeon of at least sigil level 45 to unlock.
For money, farm the living steel chests, the steel is like 1 million gold iirc

You missed the best benefit of mindcages……when used all the orange loot drops are at 925.

I've gotten more Uniques from Helltide Loot Goblins than anything else.

the most i would have known just happened friday lol ya get ya threat maxed and as it counts down ya log out... then back in as long as ya dont die.... ya get elites and worms endlessly no end threat boss though... dude that was insane ... gets patched tomorrow... is it an exploit or a bug.. could care less ... they didnt fix it in the ptr when we reported it so it was in game... i forgot about it.. got my sorc to 100 in 4 hours in hell tides alone my main is a 100 necro

Artillery blows on builds with no Basic or Spam Core skills
As long as you are killing fast it does better than most potions for clearing and speed running. I use it non stop on my minion necro and it's nice as long as my minions are killing. What build are you running?
Do not use mind cage if you are 90-100 with less than 25k health. I got sniped... Literally sniped by a champion of hell that popped up. One shot. Same thing with maider. She will one shot you. I don't think it's worth it.
It's a little more complex. When even I get one shot by maiden it is almost always because my fire resistance isn't capped and/or my armor isn't capped at 85% damage reduction. The latter you can check by floating over your armor number, it will show you how much armour you need to have damage reduction of 85% and what your current damage reduction is. Then life is the third thing I would check. Mind cage has a lot of solid benefits between more xp per kill, more mobs (faster moving threat meter), better gear, it makes a pretty big change to strengthening you build.

@@jarnold420ja If they have a 2% drop rate, it doesn't mean in 50 tries you're guaranteed to get it. Each try is still 2%.

That's odd, it's one of the great perks this season. For most pit pushes you are eventually going t have to replace it with a better elixir because it is best for mob clearing and our bigger issues in the later stages of the pit are single target damage to take down the boss, but until then enjoy! It's also weird to me because if you have a great build and then use holy bolts, you would still have a great build.
