Trobriand story was great fortunately I played 3 when it was down to $20 and all the patches helped iron out all the bugs and stuff..when it comes to many open world games I take caution on day 1 purchases.
Jeffy Neffy that’s very subjective bud. I personally think the PS3 era of gaming was way better than this gen unless of course you only focus on graphics? Mass Effect Trilogy, Dead Space Trilogy, Skyrim, The Last of Us, GTAV, MGS4, Bioshock Trilogy, Dragon Age, and so many more. Like I said, it’s subjective.
You know instead of GTA 6, though I know many won't agree with me, I would like Rockstar to do a game in a similar setting. I know they have L.A. Noire so perhaps something with that but bigger.

His final comment got to me. "Oozing with 1930s atmosphere like overfilled Cannoli" LOL. I just ate last week from Carol's bakery in Hoboken. Their Cannoli is supposed to be famous. It was decent but I thought that it was "Overfilled"
This looks great. I loved the original Mafia (even if it can get a little clunky at times), Mafia II was a great narrative experience, and I even liked Mafia III as an action-packed revenge thriller with some catchy post-Vietnam era music. So this game has an immediate ping on my radar, in terms of game remakes.
It's difficult to believe that they actually remastered this and, according to reviewers, with care. I never thought I'd see the day when my favourite game of all time received a modern rendition.
I played the original back when it came out and it was an amazing experience. I tried re-playing the game a few years ago and couldn't make it past the first mission because of how dated it felt. Very excited to play the definitive edition!
Having covered the original game for my gaming channel awhile back, I am really hoping things like the health system and checkpoints have been refined. The PS2 version was a huge exercise in frustration, mainly because of these issues. I did manage to beat the title, by some miracle anyway. I remain optimistic this will be so much better.
I completed the game 2 times, and I never had a single bug on ps4. The combat leaves nothing to be desired, and is actually more detailed than ign gives it credit for with enemies interacting with the environments when shot by for example collapsing down surfaces, or taking a very satisfying tumble over a couch when gunned down. This remake is overall incredibly detailed and is easily a 9/10 at least.
This game was fantastic. Great story remake, the map is beautiful and the music is the absolute best of the mafia series. They really took their time finding the right songs that fit the radio of the 1930s.
The original game, in my opinion, had more Chicago style architecture. The map in the new game has more height changes and doesn't look as distinctly art deco.
Didn't even mention noir mode, totally fits the revamped games aesthetic and themes. Playing through it in black and white felt like my own personal noir film.
Solid gameplay and story. It gets a little glitchy with the audio and graphics but otherwise it's an entertaining game that packs an emotional punch at the end.

Its crazy man I'm playing this on the Xbox One S and it looks amazing. There's some bugs that have kindve taken me outve the moment like invisible characters in custcenes, terrible animations and a lack of free roam but I'm still having a great time playing it.
Apparently Mafia 4 will be a prequel, they're not moving up the timeline. They had plans to set it in 1970s Las Vegas but found licencing the music too costly. I'd prefer 1920s Chicago (a more accurate version, not Lost Heaven) or New Jersey, go for a Boardwalk Empire style story.
I'm looking forward to this. The first time I played the original game it was entirely with all of the audio in high pitch because the game didn't seem to like my sound card.

There is so much potential !!! Or a cool DLC would be the detectives perspective , Following the case ,and getting into situations of dealing with a department that’s under Morellos payroll. Trying to be an honest cop in a grimey corrupted city and finding a way to have to almost join Salileri in order to take down the corrupt members of the city , and it could all be tied into the “hit mission from the old prison “ And even have transitions of the cafe confessions with Tommy When the detective says he’s been “trying to catch the plain crash suspects for years !“ All of it !!!
Big open world with nothing to do with it after the story. Would had loved to have currency in the game to buy outfits bust tailors for suits buy different cars. Other than that really cool story enjoyed playing it
