A lot of people get caught up on the sheer shock of Oliver’s behavior, but, taken together in context with his other interactions with the family, it is a super fascinating character study. He really is a vampire, in terms of literally sucking the life out of them to satisfy his own goals. A very good film indeed.
Farleigh was doing coke the night Felix died. That’s what was in his room and the reason he got kicked out. I loved this movie! I think Barry Keoghan is going to be a big movie star very soon.
Farleigh made a big mistake but it took place in the past, I hope that Farleigh deserved a big help from God throughout the years. Although Oliver killed Felix with an alcoholic drink with cocaine out of pure rage, sadness, and hatred but that doesn’t mean Farleigh was the suspect. He found Oliver criminalizing and dehumanizing which explains why he resented him. We resented Oliver too. Cocaine is the reason Farleigh was responsible for leaving Felix dead on the ground but he was framed, banned, falsely accused, and betrayed by his family who were “mind controlled” by Oliver. Oliver’s goal is to obtain the lavish lifestyle everyone had, something that can fulfill his wish and leaving his own family behind. He’s probably a rogue, a bandit, and a colonizer.
Instead of eating the rich since Oliver has been a rich man, he stole the rich’s “shiny things” after killing them as a blood sacrifice to become them.
His plan is to win Felix as a perfect husband by attention. He’s on a much darker mission and he completed it.
Shock value aside..

I went to see this thanksgiving weekend and haven’t stopped thinking about it, it’s everything. Need to watch it again but by far my favorite movie of 2023

A real freak in the night
The banner threw me off on the date. In America, class of 2006 means you are graduating in the year of 2006. Apparently, in the UK, class of 2006 means you are entering in the year of 2006.
Barry Keoghan is very well known in Ireland and UK and has been in some great films The Banshees Of Inisherrin, Black 47 and Dunkirk, and also had parts in brilliant Irish TV series Rebellion and Love Hate. I have to say the controversy over this film with the bath tub scene, the grave scene, the menstruation scene, the naked dancing scene etc, has tended to overshadow the actual film itself. It's not a bad film, but the shock value of those scenes seems to be only things people seem to be talking about, and many would never have watched this very average film only for the Social Media hype surrounding this. Emerald Fennell's film Promising Young Woman was far superior to this. In fairness Kassidy a good episode of Buffy or Angel, which of course I know you love, is really much better than this.
You forgot The Killing Of A Sacred Deer. Where he played a similar character
@@kathleenclark815 Yes you are right should have included that. I think he is a really good actor, but feel Promising Young Woman was far superior to this, but didn't get anything like the ridiculous hype this got.
