'The Throwline Event is a timed event that tests the competitor’s ability to accurately place a throwline and/or climbing line in a tree. Competitors attempt to toss a throwline or climbing line through two of eight targets. Targets can be in a single tree (four on each side) or in multiple trees, as long as there are two distinct sets of four targets. Each competitor is allowed unlimited throws within 6 minutes, but a competitor can score only once in each set of targets. A single throw may be used to score on each set of targets, as long as both targets can be completely isolated.
The lines may be manipulated in the tree. This includes attaching more than one throwline or climbing line together to perform manipulation techniques. Additional lines used for manipulation techniques shall
be removed from the tree prior to the stoppage of time or the competitor will be assessed a 1-point penalty for each additional nonscoring line left in the tree.
Points may be earned for installing a climbing line on each side of the tree. The value of these additional points depends on the difficulty of the target. Installing a climbing line in a 9-point throw is worth 4 points. An additional 1 bonus point may be awarded by the Event Head Judge for innovative or exceptional techniques during the event.
Retrievable Stationary Rope Option for Competitors:
Competitors will have the option of adding a canopy anchor SRS system to their successfully scored climb line for an additional
2 points per side of the tree(s).
Competitors may also earn Time Points for efficiency. The competitor needs to score in each set of targets to be eligible for Time Points.'
We have collaborated with Mike and Katie Curwen who both have an extensive knowledge of comps and bags of experience when it comes to competing. Mike recently finished 4th in the World championships and 3rd in the Europeans.

I like the nature of this competition. I have many times thrown string in a tree and set a rope, just as form of relaxation. Thanks for showing this video! 👌👍👍🇨🇦🇺🇸

Very nice, just a little fix: for the points of your first fork to be valid, your throwline would of had to been isolated between the tapes. If you use your rope to slide it in between, you have to pull it back down, then up again with your throwline, scoring it, then back with your rope. Its a common situation and sucks to loose points to a small details like that. Thanks for your videos! Cheers!
