They are right now! Vocalist left, Evan freakin Brewer joined, 2 new singles out and they are most definitely a return to form.

The picking hand on Nico is interesting
It’s ugly lmao but he has chops so I guess it doesn’t matter it looks like he’s slightly turning the pick almost like he’s chipping at the strong instead of plucking it it’s weird af and bugs me me old guitarist did it too
Nico and Mike Low (Inferi) hold the pick in a similar way and it's always caught my eye. They're picking machines though so perhaps they're onto something...
It's more common than you think. Chris (Shadow of Intent), Tobi (Archspire), Ola Englund, Tosin Abasi all play like that.
@@bryancabrera2702 I used to pick similar as I’d use the middle and index finger to hold the pick. I got great pick attack but it was harder to naturally mute the strings with my right hand. The tendons pull weird in my right hand so everyone else might have a different experience. I played for a probably 10 years like that ha

The phrasing is the crucial part of the dreamy sound but that reverb has a lot to do with it too. You guys that are DAW guitarists, download Valhalla Supermassive and add some of that on your leads and boom you have the same dreamy wash of sound thing. It's free.

What's Fallujah's guitar tuning? Anyone know?
Standard tuning on a 7-string
Anyone know how that bridge tremolo system works? I'm just asking because Scott usually uses a floyd rose or similar system but it looks like with this tremolo he can achieve the same effect but without the nut locking etc
From what I understand, it sits on two trem posts that keep the bridge far enough away from the body so you can bend up or down in pitch. It’s pretty simple. Look up the Wilkinson trem if you have more questions.
Almost forgot to add that he probably uses locking tuners and a graphite nut. Keeps things nice and smooth

What pickups are in their guitars?
I think the keisel lithium but I could be wrong. From what I understand the keisels come with there own lithium pickups that sound great
