  • The Battle of Plymouth unfolded amidst the First Anglo-Dutch War on 16 August 1652, when General-at-Sea George Ayscue of the Commonwealth of England confronted Vice-Commodore Michiel de Ruyter's Dutch Republic convoy. They clashed off the coast of Sussex. Ayscue, commanding a fleet of 47 vessels, aimed to intercept the convoy, but De Ruyter, leading 31 ships, skillfully maneuvered, forcing Ayscue's avoidance.

nobody seem to mention it, but this 8:07 is a critical moment of the battle, in a way that De Ruyter's Flagship managed to get behind Ayscue's Flagship, where De Ruyter can launch devastating attack on the stern(back) of Ayscue's, which is not only a huge target with important "assets"(pun intended. Sorry, not sorry) on it(chamber of captain is there), the cannonballs can pierce through the length of the ship, damaging anything it passes through the stern to the bow(front). not to mention De Ruyter can shoot the stern of the ships on the other side.
