      Hey, Rachit! I think we all face rejection in life some way or the other. I did too. There was a time when I had nothing on my resume except IPCC but I geared up after that and tried to change the situation.
      Fortunately, all my efforts bore fruits and I am sure everyone can do that. There are a lot more avenues and opportunities out there than you think.
      LinkedIn does provide leverage in terms of showcasing your skills and work on your personal brand and I have spent considerable number of hours doing that.
      I'd recommend everyone else to work on personal branding as well, it goes a long way.
      But in the end all that matters is your skillbase and the confidence to present it. Don't lose hope so easily. HOPE is what we live for :)

      Bhai , whats the problem then ? we should also try to do such type of things so that our resume will shine too . Nobody asked her to host the programmes where icai president came , nobody asked her to review the 10 books .
      She did all these on her own with a hope that she will get fruitful results of all these activities. And she got too !!
      Its not true that if we aren't SRCC student or Big4 article , then we cant be successful .
      We can be successful too but only if we want it and we work for it .
      I agree that its very difficult for many students .( i am one of them ) but brother , i am not letting my hopes get down , i am always searching for the opportunities which i can turn into skills & achievements i can add to my resume .
      Mai bi special raat ke 3 baje train pakad karr apni city se delhi icai fest21 attend krne gya tha taaki kuchh naya seekhne ko mile ( i too get chance to meet vice president there) ....kitni talaash ki.. kosis ki maine jab jaakar meri ek startup me internship lgii .
      Today also i am continously working for buliding my resume .
      Only request to all my brothers and sisters , pls dont loose hope . Situation and conditions may be worst for u but we have to fight against them for our professional career .
      Candidates like bhumika aren't demotivation for us , they are actually an example for us like what we can do or not . So pls stop comparing skills , start matching the skills .

    Hey @Bhumika Sankhle , I appreciate you for replying to majority of comments. I hope you reply to this one as well.
    Don't you think such kind of videos are applicable to the elites only? Top college, impressive ECA, Big 4 articleship, CFA level 3, first attempt steak as visible from your LinkedIn profile. Majority of CA articles don't fall in this bracket. For example, let me talk about myself. I am from a state university, direct entry student with an above average ECA and leadership experience. My firm is small that too my father's firm. Stuck in inter due to grave mistakes and decisions. I am pursuing Ma Eco side by side. Where do you feel I fall in this chaos of mindless rat race according to you? And while being there in the elite bracket, what do you feel is the end result of everything and how do you see us mere mortals below (because that's what the society makes us feel)?
    Edit:(16/7/2022) Now I am cringing out by reading this comment of mine. Came here to delete it but then I thought of writing this edit. My experiences in these one year have changed a lot ways I see this comment. It felt like a comment seeking validation from others. The gracious peeps who replied to my comment kinda changed my views (read reply after a year). I have realized that we all have similar potential to achieve things in life. You may make mistake in this journey and learn from it but you don't have to see others as inferior or superior to you and just be happy with their achievement and wish them best as we all have unique way of seeing things, hence a different journey. Like someone commented under this video, life is a marathon and not a race wherein you are late for something. Sometimes [many a times] when you feel you are late for something, you are either wrong and have ways to pursue that something or you were never made for it because if you were made for it or were really interested to achieve it, you would have done it. If you are from former category, go ahead and achieve and if latter, then don't feel bad. Whatever happened in past was meant to happen that way, you had minimal control over it. You don't have to regret about it. Just strive to be the best of yourself and get inspired from others. I understand this society is deeply rooted to the concept of hierarchy but don't give a damn about it. I realized the reason for my 'cribbing' worthy comment was regret about my past decisions and mistakes, and that past was affecting my present and by this, my future was at stake. DON'T EVER DO THIS TO YOURSELF. NEVER PUSH YOURSELF IN THIS WEB OF GUILT AND REGRET IN REGARDS TO PAST. Even if you start working on your mistakes today, you can push yourself to the so called 'elite' bracket [although I don't believe in it now]. You are never late for anything. Believe me. I have experienced it myself. Never look down upon yourself, or to others. 5 mantras to reach anywhere is- Hard-work, consistency, discipline, focus, self-control. You don't have to adopt it since day 1 for a better life. No matter where you stand in your life today, just adopt these and you will get unimaginable results. Start today. Jis din jaago, uss din savera. Also, never compare yourself with anyone. We all come from different backgrounds and have different privileges in life, different schools and family environment, so comparison is waste and thief of joy. Just use your full potential. Be full of grace. Be humble. Be awesome!

    • @smarannayak7357
      @smarannayak7357 Před 3 lety +4

      Okay, this my personal take:
      Yes, it is not easy to get into industrial training or a big4, and it is harder for people who are not from tier 1 colleges. It is also true that the option to apply is open for all (in most cases). What I feel is people reject themselves before the interviewer does so. They themselves know that their skills are not as polished as the so called “elite” and we long for “elite” status.
      This was the case with me too. I always thought that I’ll never apply at a big4 for articleship because I believed that my skills are sub par just because I’m from a tier 2 city and didn’t go to “elite” colleges. However, after getting a rank, I immediately applied to all big4s. What changed? Just a title nothing else. I am the same person I was, but I had a new found confidence in me. But, since you think that the rank helped me more than my skills, let’s take other examples
      My senior, friend and mentor, he is currently doing industrial training at a very large MNC. Let’s look at his credentials, he’s from a tier 2 city, didn’t go to a top tier “elite” college, not a CA inter ranker, did his articleship from a small/mid sized firm (although he is pursing CS too, but his role is not related to CS, so I’m ignoring his achievements there) BUT he is hard working, skilled, curious to learn, smart and professional.
      Want to see another example? My best friend, again, not a rank holder, is doing articleship from a big4 in business consulting. He’d also not be classified as an “elite” but he could achieve this just because he is smart, skilled and professional.
      Another example? One of my acquaintances. She’s doing industrial training from a PSU. She did her articleship from a small/mid sized firm. Again, not an “elite” but a “mere mortal”.
      All three people are from tier 2 cities, from not so impressive colleges, but still could get in. How’s that? It’s because of their skill, professional behaviour and curiosity, nothing else, my friend. You need to start new learning stuff, updating your knowledge, get outside your comfort zone and start putting yourself out there. I’m not guaranteeing that you’ll get a position like @Bhumika Sankhla, but you’ll learn. It’ll not be easy, but you’ll grow. You’ll become more confident.
      Having said that, I don’t think the video applies to all, it applies only to those who are willing to step outside their comfort zones and willing to go the extra mile. The choice is yours, whether to think you are a mere mortal and sulk, or try and achieve whatever is possible.
      If you feel that this is a mindless rat race with no point, then by all means continue whatever you’re doing, but don’t to demotivate people with your comments (especially your juniors) who are willing to achieve, the problem is we as students think that we can’t do what we see others do, but the sad reality is we don’t want to step outside our comfort zones.
      (If you think that I’m not telling the truth, connect with me on LinkedIn, I’ll introduce you to the people I’ve mentioned above.)

    • @bhumikasankhla8279
      @bhumikasankhla8279 Před 3 lety +14

      If I could get each of my friend to comment on this- they will tell you how am I not too fond of self-deprecation. Honestly, I am not too sure of why are you so critical about the society when you already have a great resume (given that I saw your profile on LinkedIn) and even then looking for validation gets you nowhere in life, it is only the real joy you get in your craft that matters! I am no one to tell you where you fall in the society you talk about.
      Also, I don't consider myself elite or anyone else mere mortal, just to clarify!
      Often when I feel that I am not doing enough or whether any of it matters, I keep going back to this quote from 'G. H. Hardy' who was a mathematician to seek solace and I hope you'll find some too. He says:
      'I have never done anything useful. Judged by all mathematical standards, the value of my mathematical life is nil but I have added something to knowledge and helped others to add more and these something have a value THAT DIFFERS in DEGREE ONLY and NOT IN KIND'.
      Let's start comparing ourselves to ourselves and not to anyone else.

But I just wanted to know what other things can we do in the remaining 1.5 years of college to strengthen our resume. Also if I am in SRCC and giving the groups of IPCC separately, does it become hard to get into Big4's in the campus placements for articleships because of giving single groups?

    I prima facie searched for the geographical distribution of companies offering non-audit and non-tax profiles for industrial trainees. I found many opportunities in Mumbai, but only 2-3 opportunities in the Delhi region, which too were back-end roles like product control, valuation control. I even saw that your reporting office is in Mumbai (I Hope I researched enough).
    Can you suggest to me some job profile in Delhi for some more front-end diverse role like yours, and since, I haven't stayed away from my home, how may I cope up with relocation for the first time in my life to pursue some good profiles in Mumbai (obviously when I will apply, WFH won't be there)?
