Lawyers representing Amber Heard are cross-examining Johnny Depp following his two days of testimony in the $50m (£38.2m) defamation lawsuit he brought against his ex-wife. The trial is in its second week at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia.
Heard is being sued by Depp for implying he ab*sed her in a 2018 op-ed she wrote. Although she did not name him, his lawyers claim her allegations have made it difficult for the actor to land movie roles, turning him from “Cinderella to Quasimodo” in Hollywood, as the Pirates of the Caribbean actor described it.

She's got nothing on my ex wife mate . I ended up in a physiatrist hospital with a full nervous break down . Sectioned against my will . Pure evil . Even used my children as weapons . Told people I was abusing my kids . But I won cause I got custody of all 4 of them .
As they say the truth eventually comes out - good for you - kids only need one descent parent - your clearly it. I also had a nervous breakdown during the trial for my financial assets after separation from my defecto. He told me after we broke up that he is highly creative at negative behaviours that he enjoys in a negative way. Yes he most certainly is. A good day for my ex was me having a panic attacks before he left for work. Fortunately I inadvertently got his mail - confirming he was on welfare. He did it to himself.

Exactly. Anyone who has been abused… it eventually doesn’t matter whatsoever what gender did it to you specifically. You eventually see the face of abusiveness on all types of people as you go on. I have been in a situation very similar to Johnny’s and i had no idea how badly I needed a role model to follow and empathize with. My heart had a physical reaction recently listening to him of just pure empathy. An organ of mine i have had a lot of trouble with recently. And while it hurts to see someone else deal with it… he is a goddamn inspiration and i cannot imagine a better role model for men in this.

The lack of depth, is frightening.
He's not perfect, no...but this is a service, a costly one for him for sure...that to my mind will cost even more for him, win lose or draw. Nevertheless a service and lesson on not going down that road, and having a little bit of critical thought when reading/hearing the latest news. I had a husband exactly like her, who also became homicidal and attempted to kill me. In the audios, I can put his voice in her words and there is no difference. By the time he finished twisting things, I had deliberately twisted the rug fringe in an attempt to drastically harm him. 22 years later, I still have PTSD, a royally effed up left ankle and am going to have to have my left knee replaced. (A healed partial thickness tear of the ACL is a minor detail!) No, Johnny is NOT an angel (nor am I) but she's a narcissistic verbal/mental/emotional and physical abuser.

1. This case paves the way for more men to seek justice for false accusations and the liars/accusers get far steeper consequences.
2. People truly become aware that abuse has no gender and can be equally frightening either way.

Totally agree, but we have to be cautious when it comes to the difference between false accusations and accusations that cannot be sufficiently proved. As a former victim of DV I am disgusted that there are still so many who believe Heard was so scared & abused by Depp. The most obvious proof SHE was the perpetrator & NOT the victim was the video she recorded of him “assaulting the kitchen cupboards”. There is not a chance I wd have recorded my perpetrator doing that & then laughing. I wd have been too scared of repercussions being caught, he wd have ABSOLUTELY taken my phone & deleted it b4 smashing phone & I would have been seriously beaten for recording. More importantly, I wd not have remained in the same room during an incident like that & wd have locked myself in another room knowing I wd have been hurt (as I was many many times). I believe he was angry at something else & was taking his frustration out on inanimate stuff & wd not have then turned on her. Someone who has been physically beaten, intimidated, suffered aggression to the point they are scared of their partner doesn’t film and then laugh. That’s not fear, it’s filming to build a case to either protect themself because they are the physical aggressor or to film to ensure they get a nice fat settlement. It literally makes me sick that there are women & men who suffer DV & are too scared to do anything or aren’t believed because there are many perpetrators who are in control & able to convince everyone that they are the victim. I believe Johnny 100%. He has my support and prayers. My exhusband was abusive to me and he is muslim from Bahrain. He strangled me , cheated on me while I was breast feeding my daughter ,verbally ,emotional abused me and etc.I got divorced in 2007 . I dated a little bit after the divorce and realized I needed time for myself. I now have not dated in 8 years! My prayers to Johnny and his family, he is a good man with a pure heart. Justice for Johnny! God Bless in Jesus Name! He is not alone, many of us has gone through abuse and true victims recognize the truth.

I'm definitely on Johnny's side, but I do want to point this out. I'm in the family violence field and many partners don't get a prenup because they have a level of belief that the partner won't leave them due to their own entitlement, cultural beliefs, or coercive control. Usually they instead go for divorce agreements that favour them by doing what Amber is doing: Trying to point out how evil their partner is through alleged drug usually, drinking, and mental health

Me too. The Judge is kinda relaxed. In California a Judge tells you no texting and you do ....you get contempt of court and lose your phone and are detained by a court bailiff. Saw it happen. Hahahaha. Judge didn't play around.

I am floored by the way he's been treated in the media. I was emotionally and verbally abused for 2 1/2 years. The bias is sickening to begin with, but seeing her gaslight him and lie about literally everything brings me back to my abusive relationship. seeing him get justice is cathartic for me. I was already a fan, but I'll be actively supporting him in the future as a matter of principle.

Yeah it's a real mystery, that must be the privilege of men to be shat on, used as ATMs and second class parents. We're so privileged us men, pay majority of tax so that most government services can cater to women and the media can slag off men.

I think things are changing. A lot of messaging around things like MeToo has changed from "Believe women" to "Believe victims", and in tandem with the push towards looser gender roles for both main genders, the younger generation are treating these issues as less of a "Men vs women" issue, and more of an issue for EVERYONE. It's like once you truly accept that women are just as capable as men for all of the GOOD qualities, you realise that the same applies for the BAD qualities. Anyone can be an abuser and anyone can be abused.
Depp's case proves that, and I think the reason he's had so much support is because he is a person that we all knew wasn't capable of doing that. If Heard had done this to someone who was much less honest about their personal struggles and less emotionally vulnerable, we might never have noticed.
Speaking more generally, men have indeed held historical advantages and privileges, that women were denied for a long time - e.g. women only gained the right to open a bank account with the permission of their husbands in the 1960s, and single women were only guaranteed this right in 1974, which is why men have historically been the ones to pay for everything. But these privileges also came with responsibilities and downsides, such as the fact that men were expected to fight in wars, and pay the bills, and are often punished more severely than women, because women aren't held accountable for their own actions, as they have historically been seen as less mentally and physically capable.
I think these are really important things to remember when discussing the discrimination against men in the legal system, because women were historically - and still are to some degree - treated in the same way legally as children. This shields them to some extent from punishment, which is good for individual women accused of a crime, but on the grand scheme of things, it demeans women and hurts us as a society, because it prevents the course of true justice. Speaking as a woman, women SHOULD be held accountable for our actions because we SHOULD be treated equally to men. In return it would be nice to be listened to more, particularly in discussions about women's reproductive health and rights, and to have access to all of the same opportunities as men, but I think to a large extent that comes with society viewing women as equally capable as men - on BOTH the good and bad sides of that coin. Once BOTH men and women are judged truly on their own merit, rather than by their sex or gender, we will start to see true equality.

On her opening her barrister showed makeup that Amber used and had to keep in her bag to cover up the ever changing colour of the bruise, the make-up company came out and proved it wasn't even available around that time and only available in 2017, Amber is lying the whole way through this trial 🤔

One point to add about the makeup..... they were caught lying about the makeup she used. Her lawyer held up in their opening testimony stating this is the compact she kept with her and uses the entire relationship with Johnny so she could cover up her bruises and she never left her bedroom without this makeup on.....the brand was milani cosmetics color correction kit... well well well....milani came out with a statement showing that this particular makeup did NOT exist during the time amber claimed to be abused and using it...no in fact that particular product was not releases until 2017. Then they showed a copy of the product and release date in their product manual at headquarters.......boom, flat out huge lie right in the opening testimony! 😳

To charge someone with perjury, it would only apply after the trail not during because it would should bias on behalf of the judge. If she wins the case then perjury would not be charged, if she loses the case after the jury has deliberated then the judge can add on this charge during the sentence. The state prosecutor can then pick it up but most likely they wouldn’t.

I feel terrible. TUG has been my go to for everything leading up to this trial (watched TUG even before this started) but in a way because of that I got burnt out just before the trial started and haven't checked in on his channel in awhile.

After all the evidence comes out in this trial, someone needs to make a website or video that lays out the facts of the case, detailing all Heard's lies and manipulations in a way that someone who hasn't been following any of this can understand. We all watch the trial together and then we debrief during breaks I watch a pro Depp panel but it’s hard not to be pro Depp if I’m honest. There is documented proof of this in a letter from said Hospital to her about if they will see any $ from her or for her to tell them she is reneging her pledge. THAT'S the type of person she is.

It’s good to see male victims stepping forward, I am female survived of 5 yrs of DV….it’s scary, and can be so difficult to get away from. While I was growing up… I watched my mom treat my dad worse than AH treated Johnny, but that’s probably because they weren’t together that long.
