👍Thank you so much, saved me hours of scraping & scrubbing. My wax wasn’t too old but I could NOT get it to look right, all surfaces my foot. What a pain in the butt to remove. The tip about ammonia & baking soda helped me so much.

I used rubbing alcohol and a medium scrub brush. It worked the best!

Did you also use baking soda? Or only rubbing alcohol?

Rubbing alcohol didn’t work as well on my entryway ugly @$$ tiles. The ammonia soaking for a few minutes worked better I tried both. The ammonia fumes were awful so I tried alcohol but it didn’t work as good on my type of tiles. Too bad cause the ammonia almost knocked me out. Hot water, ammonia & my mop cleaned off the old wax really good. Didn’t have to get down & scrape.

I used nail polish remover and a metal scraper and 2x2 cotton pads

I tried this. I found that you can skip the steps of sprinkling baking soda on the floor and scrubbing it with a steel brush. I found that merely spraying ammonia on the floor, waiting at least 25 minutes and then using the spatula will do the job without creating more of a mess and wasting time on totally unnecessary extra steps. After you spray the floor with ammonia and wait, the wax turns rubbery and will come up in long strips as you lift it off the floor with the spatula.

Thank you Ladies, my Aunt was looking for a solution. She is goings to try and I will report back. What ratio do you dilute the ammonia? We will wear a respirator working with that ammonia too. Thanks again.

When using Ammonia, why use baking soda? Is it for abrasion?

I can't speak for the ladies, but hydrogen peroxide and baking soda are recommended for brushing your teeth. It might not be advisable to use it on a daily basis, but you may want to use it occasionally to get rid of coffee stains. And I've found baking soda very effective for getting rid of coffee stains on the inside of my coffee pot. It's an old-fashioned stainless steel percolator type of coffee pot that makes 2 or 3 cups of coffee.
