  • SUPERCHARGE YOUR ANAMORPHIC - SIRUI 50MM 1.33X
    Quick little guide on how to get the most out of your Sirui 50mm 1.33x anamorphic. I wanted to get something wider and add a bit of character without shelling out for a 24mm or 35mm. This £14 Sony 0.7x wide angle adapter from ebay is perfect.

    I love the Surui lenses. It’s super easy to add filters and things to the lens to give it “character” but, when you want it to be sharp you have that too.

      Thanks for commenting mate, it really helps when people leave feedback. I understand your thoughts on the sirui and it’s definitely a “bland” lens but that’s not always a bad thing….but I do like things to look a bit interesting. I only paid £375 but thinking about it, I was probably better off investing in a vintage lens set.

    Wow very nice footage, and the warmth in your grading is really pleasant too. Have you tried other c-mount lenses for micro four thirds? Remember having a CCTV lens once that had quite a bit of character, Fujian 35 mm f/1.7, it was very cheap too.

    • @Altcine
      @Altcine  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you Brian. Yeah I've had a couple Fujians in the past and I honestly loved them. They're quite clean but overly sharp and also have that blurry outer edge which people hate but I love.
      The eos-m still in this video is 35mm 1.6 c-mount and I think very similar to fujian... probably same optics.
      These lenses with their flaws are a nice change from the sigma and Olympus lenses.

  • @jdsmedia
    @jdsmedia Před 2 lety +1

    Footage looks awesome bro! Proper anamorphic character. That adapter seems great quality too. How about the bokeh with the adapter i imagine it gets less oval shaped right? The character is INSANE.

    • @Altcine
      @Altcine  Před 2 lety +1

      Yo brother, thanks man...really does bring out that anamorphic look.
      The bokeh isn't that oval to begin with. It's weird because I see no distortion on Sirui but the the bokeh balls are definitely more oval towards the edges.
      All in all, I'm really happy though...I could potentially shoot some shorts with just this one lens if I use with & without the wide angle adapter.

    Dont buy too wide adapter. I was personaly make huge mistake to purchase fisheye adapter it completly useless crap because image degrodation is way out scale. Sirui is very sharp lens for being anamorphic lens sometimes its good but most of time lack some vintage organic look that yuo assoiet with anamorphic lenses. Some old anamorphic projector atachmet as Schneider 2x are suprasingly sharp but thats okey because focusing with sharp lens and sharp anamorphic atachment its way easy and verstile than soft ones. I currently working of that kind project anamorphic with 2x adapter and trying pair with Samyang 20mm T1.9 lens if I succese Its will be almost world widest anamorphic lens currently ATLAS ORION 18mm T2.0 its widest lens on market.

Maybe in some lens combination it will be work better and it's was cheap maybe that's why image quality was terrible. And I soon I finished my anamorphic project I reales video about it but this anamorphic adapter is for 80mm taking lens so it's almost impossible get properly working for 20mm lens maybe I will be first crazy guy how trying this impossible task. Also their is one man how made affordable rear anamorphic adapter's Pooli you can find it's channel on CZcams.

      @@Altcine 20mm lens don't work maybe 25mm or 30mm because of anamorphic element's need space to work and in 20mm it's causes vignetting . Very big disappoinment and single focus solution that I try made it's not working either. So double focus it's only way to finish my project otherwise you get limited focusing range if element's are not movable. But this explains why nobody using this projector anamorphic adapter with wide angle lens.
