Yeah i can imagine many would think this was The beach Boys, and many would say surf music all sounds the same too, but it really don't, and i love surf music.. I got a Jan & Dean album and it's a good one too, and i am a big fan of their music Rich.. Just heard the sad New that "Peter Green" from "Fleetwood Mac" has just died, they are one of my favourite bands ever.. Good luck coping with all that heat over there, it's only 19 degrees here and it's summer time lol.. Take care my friend and enjoy the weekend...

Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys came up with the idea for this song and also "Surfin' USA". This is funny.... at first Jan wanted to do "Surfin' USA" but Brian said no, he wrote that one for the Beach Boys to sing. Then Jan asked about "Surf City" and Brian said ok and then helped Jan & Dean record it. "Surfin' USA" only made it to #3 in the US but "Surf City" of course hit #1. Daddy Wilson was furious about that. But Brian always just wanted great music to be put out there for all of us to enjoy it.

Hello my friends, oh i so like surf music, and there is quite a big surf scene here in North Devon at places like Woolacombe Beach, it's not quite California but it has a good surf there and the beach there is beautiful, and it's only a short drive from where i live actually.. I was in San Diego way back in 2002. Watching surfer's do their thing was fascinating.
One thing that me and my wife noticed. There aren't any fat people out there surfing. I'm guessing that it's probably a pretty good workout. More than my fat ass can handle lol. Make no mistake. These people are athletes.
