After 1000 hours locked to Yanille as an Xtreme-Onechunk ironman, I've completed every possible task. Now, it's time to move on, randomly choosing my next chunk. These chunk rolls could let me make history... or they could destroy my account. It's all up to chance now, so let's see where it goes!

Please read this josh ❤ your goals are to fill all the collection slots and get bis for all of it, please buy the things and sell them back to the store. I.e. you don't need the gold med helm and the gold full helm at the same time. (It's your choice) but selling them back to the store makes a lot of sense and will save you an incredible amount of time. The halos are purely cosmetic so you can buy and sell back instantly.

Man single handedly owns the phrase "let's go!" 😂 I love it, think I counted over 50 times of it being said. Amazing series have been watching since the beginning, it's like settled but a unique twist and entirely different content. Won't be surprised if you hit 100k subs fast compared to other youtubers in the niche.
Fun Chunk Fact: You can get to Ferox Enclave from Castle Wars. There is a portal in Ferox to Castle Wars that says it is one way, which is true most of the time. A while back they made Castle Wars F2P and on F2P Worlds, the doors are closed and clicking on them offers you a teleport back to Ferox so F2P players have a way out aside from home tele. So if you wanted, you could treat the Castle Wars to Ferox Enclave like the Wizards' Guild portals for chunk rolling, but since it is only on F2P worlds it seems reasonable to exclude.
Josh should add it but only if he only goes there on f2p worlds and only does f2p tasks in ferox until he unlocks a members path there. No idea what gets locked there as f2p though so this might not be as fun as it is in my head hahaha

Arguably the most underrated chunk series. No offense to everyone else as they're excellent as well and i love a lot of them for different reasons, but the production value of this one is just something else.

In my grind for bis F2P gear I wanted the gold shield and gold boots. This requires 1000 tickets to own them simultaneously. While it was a bit numbing to grind out the minimum 334 games I did discover that if you emptied the castle wars potion vials you would end up with empty vials after the match. I collected 8,885 vials on a F2P hardcore ironman XD. I got to watch a lot of netflix and I learned a lot about pathing doing weird dances with my alt I was boosting with...
Final note: you can't get random events during the match or in the waiting rooms so wait the few minutes between matches to get your lamps. the "Random Event Analytics" plugin was a godsend for this. Goodluck out there!

This is my favorite chunk series by the way! Your pacing / editing / content is wonderful.
Question: For your "BiS" chunk tasks, shouldn't you technically get enough tickets to wear, all at once, the gold decorative full helm, legs, boots, shield, sword, and platebody? To wear that BiS melee set it would be 3400 tickets, and then your collection log chunk tasks, ranged BiS, magic BiS, prayer BiS would be easily completed with refunding. Fray kind of came into the chunk gray area when he first lost one of his BiS weapons. I guess the chunk task list uses the word "obtain", but to me that defeats the purpose of BiS vs Collection Log. Just a thought!
Either way, will keep eagerly awaiting & watching, just curious is all. Castle wars is pretty chill and AFK if u need it to be luckily.
the decorative range quiver is also BiS melee cape so i guess 3440 tickets max
if you want videos to actually come out its probably reasonable to just get the 800. Mostly because the castle wars grind is incredibly boring and long, and I doubt there's a lot of interesting content to be made. But if you want your fill of someone actually getting all the BiS, makker started in castle wars and did this.

I can see why keeping full completion of castle wars isn't required as long as you get the log, but wouldn't you still be required to get all the BiS items? So golden sword, shield, legs, boots, helm and a halo?
He just has to wear them once. Losing the item doesn't remove having gotten it.

I actually watched the castle wars episode first and then went back and just finished all the Yanille stuff. I really like all the guest stars that were in castle wars and Josh was so fun I decided to stick around for all of it.
I am SO, SO excited for the castle wars chunk!!! It's been my dream to have a chunk account where decorative cw armor was the BIS offered, but never got the account (minigame only) off the ground. You're gonna have the coolest setup ever!!!!

I binged out this series while working on my RS3 Chunker, I love this man. Keep it up! I also started a Wizard's Tower F2P Chunker with a goal of completing all F2P chunks before getting members, and I'm attributing that to you and Limpwurt's crazy series. Mad inspiration my dude. So i had said in your previous video that limpwurt was the best one chunk man but i loved your series too, i wanted to clarify. I said that because limpwurt has the longest running one chunk series with the most progress and the strictest rules that I can find and he has proved basically no grind will kill his series. That being said your storytelling in the yanille chunk was fantastic and had a lot more production quality than any of the other one chunks I have seen. Really want this series to keep rolling.
A thing to consider, Castle Wars and Ferox Enclave are connected in F2P. In F2P just go through the Castle Wars front doors to get there and take Ferox's Castle Wars Portal to get back.
Not sure what the rule is since it's only on certain worlds but might be relevant so figured should let you know. If so sorry I think, but is new area to access.
Could also use the minigame tele to get there and the portal to get back.
Fun fact: Decorative armor set red & white (not gold) aren't broken or lost on death when PK'ed in below lvl 20 wildy or on a PVP world. So the white is BiS no risk "mithril" armor. May come in handy if you roll a wildy chunk someday.

I would say no since they have no attack bonuses for said styles, so its kind of just defensive gear. and he can def get better mage gear from yanille@@FlareAndrew
If I am not mistaken, you can train hunter. With the addition of forestry you can get hunter exp from the fox encounter. I know you can't get the forestry bag, but I dont know for sure if getting the bag is a requirement to participate in events. Then with leveled hunter you can go into puro puro through the wheat field in town. Implings give you access to bow strings, and therefore a bow.
technically most of the items from cwars are bis upgrades so surely you have to obtain them all, including full gold decorative surely?
He will obtain them all with 800 tickets, he'll trade it all in for the log, but since he'll still have the 800 tickets hell probably use the gold sword (500) and probably the white full set inc boots (290), maybe the blue Cape (10) just to round it out to 800.
So the 100 hours castle wars he'll walk away with basically a full set of mithril armour plus boots and an addy longsword. Big upgrades.

Yeah like full addy plus addy long sword would be BIS so he would need more tickets then he said. Plus that range armor is prob his best in slot. I’m not mad tho those thinks take forever to get
@strawbs7208 because of his ability to trade bits in on the fly I think he'll do it how i suggested, he's got better mage armour and the range castlewars armour actually has no range attack bonus, so for 800 required tickets full mith and the addy sword is a good day to day upgrade, especially when it's that or 500 extra hours for the full addy

So, I'm running an f2p locked completionist account and castle wars was one of the things I really feared. Knowing now that I only need enough points to get the most costly item and I can just return it to green the collection log removes a ton of anxiety I had regarding that minigame.

Castle Wars lobby should also unlock Ferox Enclave as a roll-able chunk for you. If you hop to a F2P world in the CW lobby then you can travel back and forth between Ferox and CW via the double doors. Unlocking Ferox would also allow you to roll Soul Wars Lobby and all of the Canoe stations.
So excited for the future of account. Chunk rolls are always so hype

One Mercy for Castle Wars might be that you can sell items back to the store for a total refund of your tickets. I'm not sure if the rules of Obtain Tasks would disallow it, but if you didn't need to hold on to items to finish then you'd just need 800 tickets for the most expensive item as opposed to the 5,549 you'd need to buy and keep one of everything.
Edit: I typed this up when he was till in Tree Gnome Village, not expecting it'd be relevant for awhile let alone within the same video

Okay champ, we get it, you have streamer over-hype syndrome. Calm down a little. I'm not a fan of 20 coffees screaming in my ear every 5 seconds over a chefs hat drop.
Interesting note about the maze being backwards: it could be because the original map editor for runescape classic had a bug that caused the resulting game world to be mirrored east-west. This was the reason a lot of the map was mirrored compared to the original maps Paul Gower drew. Perhaps the RSC tools for viewing/editing the map were confusing to the team remaking it for RS2.

Just so you know, for someone who doesn't play osrs anymore, your series is easily the best one going. I like some of the other snowflake ironmans going on right now, but they're often a little too technical for my liking. This series is very laidback and easy to follow.

I don't like to PvP in OSRS but Castle Wars and Fist of Guthix (unfortunately not in RuneScape) were some PvP minigames that I liked as well as being some of my favorite RS minigames back in the day. Fist of Guthix was basically free Magic training for me that don't require bringing in your own runes. And Castle Wars was just fun.

I think the map flipping east to west has something to do with how they were implemented.
If you look back at the old hand-drawn maps for DeviousMUD (the predecessor to RSC) you'll see large swaths of it are backwards from the world we know today. For example, the desert is west of Lumbridge, and Draynor is to the east.
I recall hearing that this was because of an unforeseen bug with their development tools and the live game. The way they built the maps on the dev side everything looked correct, but when the game went live for some reason everything was flipped. Rather than try to flip it back, they kept it the way it appeared in-game, and started developing sections of the map backwards from the way they intended. Or something like that. I don't know the full story.
I suspect that when designing the scavid caves, someone either forgot to flip the layout when implementing it, or accidentally flipped it twice. This flipping of the dungeon map is also the case for other parts of the game, like Barrows.
I suspect that what happened with the Tree Gnome Village chunk is that when they were converting it from RSC to RS2 the designer was accidentally looking at the wrong version of the map, and it ended up flipped the wrong way by accident.
Do you remember where you heard that? I’ve heard about this but I really want a resource explaining what happened that I can refer to!
