  • What is a good time to take the GRE? Which month should you choose? While there is a GRE waiver for the Fall 22 intake, taking the GRE exam can still boost your academic profile.     I was ranked 2nd in my course- good GPA and I'm crunched for prep time of GRE.

      The GRE is more like an opportunity now to showcase your academic ability, so you can choose to avail the opportunity or not. If you have a good GPA, you'll be okay. If not, consider taking the GRE.

    What impact will applying late or early have on getting a scholarship or part-time jobs in college(MS)?

      On scholarships, as long as you apply before the deadline, it won't matter. As for part-time jobs, that's only a part of the discussion after you get an admit and accept it. So it makes no difference.

      It depends. If the scholarship has its own external deadline, then you should write the GRE by then. If it's included along with the university deadline, then the "actual date" will suffice.

    Is awa important for masters ? I got awa 2.0 and Score 315

      Yeah the AWA is not that important but still a part of your score. A 2.0 does not look good in your application, ideally you should be at a minimum of 3.0.

      Hey, you can, but you wouldn't get a score for the verbal section. And I doubt any university wants a score like 165Q, ---V.

    As cheating in GRE growing rapidly these days, students with no knowledge about the exam are scoring more than 320 using the help of scammers. Do you think top universities like UCB, UCLA e. t. c accept GRE? Because it has been clearly stated on UCB's portal that "GRE is no longer required nor accepted".

      Most of the universities has wavied gre they said that they won't be considering if you apply though:) because they knew that these scammers will be playing a vital role in this pandemic.. So have good score in IELTS/TOEFL/DET and your CGPA matters write a strong sop! It will help you!

      That might not be a competitive GRE score because CS is a competitive field. If you have a relatively stronger GPA, then I wouldn't send it. Unless, the quant score is strong like 163+.

    @SachinPullil sir I have a question!. For GRE shall we opt for coaching like byju's or any other coaching centre?. Do you recommend joining a coaching class for GRE or is it okay to just practice the manhattan and Princeton and etc books on daily basis along with test series without any coaching classes?.

      I usually recommend you go to a coaching center if you feel like you need them. If you need the help, then a coaching center is great. If you feel you can do it on your own, then that's fine too!

      I suppose you still have time, right? If your "actual date" is still ahead, you can try to get a higher score. Or just use the waiver and apply with your GPA.

      Definitely. Given that you graduated some time ago, they'll want to check whether you can still study or not. Plus, your GPA is low so you'll need to make up for it in your applicaiton.

    I am opting to apply for PhD for fall 2022
    I am a Biotechnology graduate , I have got gpa of 3.97 out of 4 .. I have one publication and I have prepared manuscripts of two other articles as well, but yet to publish .
    I am currently working on a computational based research as well.
    I had been a research intern volunteering in a research as well.
    How is my chance to get into top notch universities??
    Is it necessary to take GRE??

      I think you have a good profile. Since you have a strong GPA, I don't think the GRE will be necessary, especially for a PhD application.

      Round 1 deadlines for MBA/MIM are much earlier than the deadlines for master's/PhD. The other round deadlines may be the same or even later.
