Rajinder Singh Bedi was an Indian Urdu writer of the progressive writers' movement and a playwright, who later worked in Hindi cinema as a film director, screenwriter and dialogue writer.As a screenwriter and dialogue writer, he is best known for Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s films Abhimaan, Anupama and Satyakam; and Bimal Roy’s Madhumati. As a director he is known for Dastak (1970), starring Sanjeev Kumar and Rehana Sultan and Phagun (1973), starring Dharmendra, Waheeda Rehman, Jaya Bhaduri and Vijay Arora.
Bedi is considered one of the leading 20th century progressive writers of Urdu fiction, and one of the most prominent Urdu fiction writers. He is most known for “disturbing” Partition of India tales.
After the partition of India in 1947, he moved to Bombay, and started working with D. D. Kashyap and got his first screen credit for dialogue, in the 1949 film Badi Bahen, although he received greater recognition for his second film Daag, a 1952 film.

That nation was fractured, bled, broken and finally partitioned to never be one again. That is further diluted and weakened and nearly finished by system of governance of two different countries after 1947.
Ques: What and who led to all that?
Ans: An arabic religion(with all due respect) which was forced on a part of our Punjabi ancestors.

Zeeshan Bhai. Dev Anand also studied at Government College, Lahore. You may know that he visited Lahore with the then Indian PM Mr. Vajpayee jee. It is said that he was in tears when he visited GC after so many years. His brothers also had association with Lahore and stayed here. Do you have any plans of a doing a video about them also? My great grand father migrated to lahore from iran 🇮🇷 in early 90ts my grandfather said k his father said there is no place in the sub continent like lahore it has his own magic charm romance I wish there was no partition n lahore had remain with india it was going to be part of india but at the last moment they gave it to Pakistan because Pakistan didn't have any big city I hope peace prevails in the sub continent n we have a chance of seeing this great city name after sons of Lord ram ji luv n kush

So the Lahore of prepartition exists in our memories only.The present day Lahore can,t achieve those dizzy heights.which makes me sad..That soul has vanished.

Hello, I am glad to have come across this channel. We have heard stories from our grandparents and now see you showing around the historical lanes and havelis, feels like we are living the times. My grandfather owned a newspaper pre independence. I am trying to find out more about it. I was able to trace the one he started after coming to India in 1947 but he did not survive long and it discontinued.
