Thanks Sergei for laying out the possible scenarios that could unfold from this conflict.

Aged pretty well after 1 year. One more scenario is looming - a stalemate, regrouping followed by a bigger war.

Psychology of winning streaks stimulates the adrenaline rush in our body, which tends to give us more confidence and thus we're willing to take further risks.

Thanks for the video. It would have been interesting to hear you go into more detail about the economic sanctions and the likelihood that this will tip the scales in favor of one of the options you discussed. I enjoyed your Twitter thread about the impacts of the sanctions so far.

    very good analysis, how about:
    1. ukrainian and russian government have by now realized that the ukrainian people never would accept russian presence
    2. putins war is not going so well, but either its for him not as bad as we think. russian army is encircleing the big cities and russia has potentially more soldiers to mobilize while ukraine is left by its own
connecting 1. and 2. would give imho a peace teaty where possibly ukraine accepts to not enter nato, give the krimea away and possibly putin wants most of the sanctios beeing withdrawn.

If Ukraine gives up on Crimea - it mean Putin has wone and got what he wanted. The next putin's thougth: Why not to go for Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Moldova... and China closely watching its perspective to take over small Taiwan. If Russia can annex other countries' territory, why China cant? And any other big country with weaker neighbour?

Hi Sergei, I agree with you. But I think that the miracle could happen. I live in Italy the most dependent nation from russian export. I'm ready for gasoline rationing, energy shortage and so on. I think Europe is willing to do anything to avoid conflict and eventually it will end to stop import of gas and oil from Russia. Anyway a nuclear attack against Kiev is highly probable, imho, but then Putin would have everyone against him. The anger and outrage would last enough to isolate Russia completely and lead in a very few month to an economic collapse (e.g. real hyperinflation). At that point for the oligarchs and generals the choice between bombing USA with nuclear warhead and get rid of a old sick man would be obvious.

I think your logic is a bit flawed here. If putin is having this much trouble invading Ukraine then they don't stand much of a chance against NATO.
I think, unfortunately, Putin maximally flattens Ukraine if the country doesn't come to terms with Russia.

Do you sincerely believe that sanctions might trigger a regime change? If yes, then why did it not work for Iran or North Korea? I hope and pray that your country and fellow countrymen get to resume their peaceful and prosperous lives as soon as possible.🙏
