As a car builder myself, I can guarantee he order the kit himself not the shop. I would never go to s shop and tell them what I want and let them order it. I'll bring my car with the parts I ordered but since I got my own tools and 20years of wrenching, I do all the work except welding myself

For real, dude got absolutely bent over if he paid $40,000 for them to reinforce the kit. Literally just epoxying another strip of carbon to the back as opposed to making a kit which requires 3D scanning the car, designing the kit, 3D printing the kit, smoothing the prints, assembling the print pieces, installing and bondo’ing it he print pieces, taking a mould of the kit on the car, and then moulding the kit. Which even for that $40k is stupid once you realize the materials are a couple grand at max (including all the equipment) and 90% of the time is just waiting for the 3D printing to finish. I’ve done kits this way before and if you can just find an accurate 3D model of the car instead of scanning it and go off that I’d say it’s max 20 hours of labor for everything if you don’t count print or cure times and aren’t lazy.

They branded the logo inside the part, but that was soon easily copied. I've not seen how RB/Pandem kits are done.

You are wrong and never worked with carbon you dont chop up carbon and use this kind of lay up, carbon is done in a autoclave with prepreg carbon no resin is used its in the carbon and the workers are like dress makers cutting the pieces to fit the mold, to reinforcing carbon you use kevla and different grades n patterns ... my cousin works for F1 mercedes as a carbon specialist, ive sprayed real carbon panels for bugatti le mans race car and seen the walk in auto clave, the parts are made in... so you are talking shit 😂 its just cheap arse parts made like normal glassfiber but using carbon as the top coat with a wet lay up then vac bagged but even then it dont think it has that, it doesnt even look like that it has got the peal ply look to the back of the unit.. cheap cheap 😂😂

I bought window louvers for my 81 camaro a few years ago they were three hundred and some odd dollars can't remember the exact price anyway... they were some low grade plastic that was floppy as 💩 to say the least I didn't return them but I left a pretty ugly review of how crap quality they were to warn others along with pictures. I saw a gallardo driving on the liberty walk website a few years ago. You could see the rear spoiler flexing even while the car was moving slowly. I wouldn't expect as high quality as factory from any aftermarket brand
I work with composites and thats not proper carbon parts , its a "knockoff" made using cheapest materials- single layer of carbon fibre (around 20$ per square meter) and reinforced with even cheaper single layer of glass fibre chopped mat (around 2-3$ ...no not 30$ ...3$ max 😅) , those parts should cost 3k$ max Properly made ones looks almost the same on the inside (except clearcoat and sanding etc) Parts like that can be done by one person in one day then half a day to finish them

I work with composites and thats not proper carbon parts , its a "knockoff" made using cheapest materials- single layer of carbon fibre (around 20$ per square meter) and reinforced with even cheaper single layer of glass fibre chopped mat (around 2-3$ ...no not 30$ ...3$ max 😅) , those parts should cost 3k$ max
Properly made ones looks almost the same on the inside (except clearcoat and sanding etc)
Parts like that can be done by one person in one day then half a day to finish them

As a carbon guy myself the fact liberty walk charges so much for fibreglassed backed carbon is disgusting but the body shop charging 40k to reinforce it is despicable
