Open and honest: now that I've seen all the videos of Splash Mt being closed and seeing the walls up, I'm ready to cancel my DL trip this December and look at Universal Orlando. My family found most of our magic at Splash - first ride and last ride. Without it, I can't see a reason to go right back and overspend on a trip.
A wise choice! Will you be sharing your videos on CZcams? Iâll subscribe to see your adventures at USO.
Jazz Kitchen looks like it belongs in a generic airport...
Look how they massacred my boy
Disney has lost its creative touch . Everything is a corporate decision now.
@@AverageJoe483 Agreed

commenting on splash demo: green stickers are going to be repurposed into the new attraction, red stickers are being demoed. You can see at minute 19:53, reading the sticker how it says "demo verified" the top right of the sticker "AD" & "3.46" are the reference numbers for the blueprints and specific pages/demo plan page. These demo pieces from the attraction could potentially go into the disney vault storage.
It was a main water valve broke on Saturday
Thank you David for simply bringing YOU to every video. You make us feel as good as Disneyland herself.
Wow.
†David â€
David, your videos are looking more and more cinematic. Love the channel and commentary.
Im at Disneyland watching this in the space Mountain line lol
Long live the Secret Path
They should have recordings of the water and folks screaming as if the ride is still operational around the construction. â€
That would be cool, but could u imagine how irritating or maybe at times even creepy that would be for the workers? đ i could also see karens get into fights w/ CMs saykng "THERES PPL IN THE RIDE. YOU CAN HEAR IT. SO LET ME ON" đ
@@kayleep.2458 hahaha true. Probably would get old. Maybe just an occasional one or water noise or maybe they could jsut start playing jazz music to get us all ready!
@@CLEMANSJK jazz would be a great one! Maybe have louis' boice singing too đ„č
@@kayleep.2458 yessss!!!! Iâll be there in December. Maybe they will have some music by then
There is a building in the lower right corner of the concept art. So, two buildings facing each other with a grass lawn in the middle. Stage goes next to the existing tree nearest the temporary wall lining the sidewalk. The pov of the concept art is the hotel tower.
Iâve always liked Downtown Disney, but I must say it never really had a unifying theme, everything from New Orleans Sunset Blvd. Now theyâve picked a theme: Mid-Century modern. Personally, I like it. Itâs clean and distinctive. And the monorail fits right in.
Saw you filming over in New Orleans square on Sunday thanks for taking a moment to chat keep up the great content
That was a lot! Thanks for the update
Love opening the app to see a new video has dropped! My alert didnât even go off yet!
It's abstract art
Thank you again Dave..great work
RE: Adventureland Bathroom - I was there and heard the Jackhammer and was a bit alarmed, mostly frustrated that no Dole whip or Gibson Girl ice cream. Found out later, the pipe that was broken was feeding the A/C and Cooling systems for the building group from Trop Hideaway through the alley by Gibson Girl. Next day it was all back up and running, other than the mens bathroom was still out of service.
So many other rides were out of service that day as well - Indy all day, Rise only open until a little after 9AM, then down all day. Matterhorn, Big Thunder and Pirates off and on. Rise and Matterhorn definitely unrelated, but the others could be tied to cooling as well.
Iâm so excited for the treehouse!!
I was hoping you would have shared with us the new narrations for *The Mark Twain, The Columbia, and The Disneyland Railroad.* Other great updates and looking forward in seeing the progress of *Tiana's Bayou Adventure.* #KnotHoleGangRidesAgain
Yeah, and I've been wondering what folks see from the railroad when they pass through the Splash Mountain show building. Thanks for the updates!
Jungle cruise bathrooms sound like a main line clog in which case they would have to jackhammer to get to where the clog is to remove it.
My bad. Sorry everybody.
YAY!!!!! I love these videos I am so excited!
glad to see the secret path!
Great work David! đ
so here's my take on the DTD construction. The concept are does not display the added buildings for Earl of Sandwich - and possibly Din Tai Fung (I heard rumor it may go here and not with Tortilla Joe's pad). It could be that when the art was revealed La Brea was still around and Earl was not yet determined to be a big player - that it was just returning. Maybe with all of the flips and changes they decided to add the big building for Earl on the west side - which means less grass area. We shall see.
Thanks David! this is a work of art!
lots of exciting changes! thanks for the report.
That was a Big Report! Good job & Great Info!
This was a great update.
Was just there today and the park is hopping! Wow, most crowded Iâve seen it in a long while.
Hopefully the Tianna's restaurant has better food than the Tianna's restaurants on the Disney Ships. D- quality on the Cruise Line. The entire menu sub-par.
Is it the Disney wonder I had to eat there I saw it was a B for the food
No shot. Tianaâs Place was my favorite restaurant on the Wonder. Boudin sausage fritters, ahi tuna tartare, seafood pepper pot, Cajun spiced sea bass with shrimp jambalaya, bananas foster sundae. Take. Me. Back.
Nice update man đđđ
Ahh, fresh out of the oven Fresh Baked!
Hey Fresh Baked!!
those balconies around salon nouveau were never functional, just decorational, so if she is actually going to appear there frequently, (which would be odd for the members up there) they are going to have to reinforce it, or build a new one entirely. I just suspected the concept art was an overzealous artist imagining tiana up there.
We agree. đŻ
I suppose we'll get used to the new appearance of the Jazz Kitchen, but its style changed from Old New Orleans to Contemporary Burger King. I can't say that's an improvement in my eyes.
In the San Fransokyo retheme: The artwork over the restrooms looks like kanji (Chinese writing). It isn't, though. It's the initials SFS for San Fransokyo arranged to look like kanji.
It looks completely hideous...low budget, tackey and boring...not exactly inviting to eat at and I wonder if the food will follow suit with the restaurant's appearance...
Well said
got to hand it to Disney they don't waste time the walls up already after closeing Splash Mountain to put the new ride in............I wonder if all the stuff are going into storeage those not needed for redressing for the new ride....mainly the stuff from American Sings that was moved into Splash Mountain.
I am most excited and relieved to see that it looks like the lion sculpture near the waterfall - often only visible from the Pirates queue near the outdoor elevator - is still there.
That Karl Strauss beer truck in CA Adventures was the only San Diego linked thing I believe in the whole parkđą
Hello David. Thank you for the updates! We will be visiting Disneyland and DCA in 20 days from today! So excited to be back in our favorite place! Perhaps we will see you around the park while there. A big Hi to Liz and Sofia â€Bizebeegranny Jeanne and Dave Rose from Wickenburg Arizona â€ïž âïžâ€
Iâm so early! Hope the treehouse is done soon!
When they announced the Adventureland Treehouse, they said the ground floor would feature the Father's paintings.of the rooms allowing guests unable to climb the treehouse to still slightly access the attraction (a bit like the Nemo subs accessible room)
I've commented before about Jazz Kitchen.......now that it's done....it looks like something you'd find in a mall!
Yep. Restaurants are often found in malls. Malls are a large group of stores and restaurants, just like DTD.
@@WindowtotheMagic
Haha....well, that's an interesting use of sarcasm (I assume and hope).
What I mean, specifically, is that it looks like some generic restaurant you might find in your average mall in America...primarily for its particular use of colors and graphics......like a computer-generated version of McDonalds.
Granted, this is just my personal, first impression.
@@kdm71291 Yep. You caught the sarcasm (so few do!) and I totally understand, and respect, your opinion. Thanks for taking the comment in the spirit in which it was offered. đđ
Omg just seen you at Disneyland at the New Orleans square train station stop!!!!
To much construction on to many attractions. Feels like Disneyland is half closed. Fan of one project, quickly renovated then move to next
I like the mini version of the splash mountain
Woo I've never been this early!!
And the water, hopefully it will stay
Wow big changes. Canât wait to see how everyone looks when we come sept 26
Mid week in late September. Very good time to visit.
So fun seeing all the footage of new things happening at Disney. Thanks for the footage and explanations.
Ate at Jazz Kitchen a few weeks ago, and was mediocre at best, will take this off my list of places I always want to eat.
Luckily they just announced a whole new updated menu, isnât it? New, fun and exciting food to try!
I donât get the closed door for poohs corner. I almost only used that door.
Glad can still walk the bridge. Very nice quiet spot to take a break
What is it like going through Spash Mt on the railroad? Have they changed the narration?
It was changed the day after the closure. Many videos on CZcams.
Yesđđ» Cubism â â the characteristics or paintings that look fragmented. Think Pablo Picasso. đđ» đŒïž
The CMs in the Briar Patch wouldn't sell me that Brer Rabbit portrait. Oh well
The art to me seems like a Pixar Mary Blair style đ I love it.
The only jazz about the Jazz kitchen is the begniets and what is up with the x on the sign? I'm excited for Tiana's and for the new tree house. I wonder if it will be done by November.
Iâm really surprised sometimes how long it takes for Disney to even START some very important projects! They drag their feet for years, even when they clearly. Have the resources, and people are anxiously waiting. Itâs also very confusing how they can allow so many rides to break down every single day. Like when I went to Disneyland more often in the 90s, It was extremely rare to have even one ride to be down. Now itâs a common occurrence and itâs shameful how much they charge for no guarantee of a good experience.
Disney doesnât LET rides break. They donât know they will break until they do. Itâs not like Disneyland says âletâs let these rides break todayâ
In the 90s you didn't have a list of all the broken down rides on your phone at a moment's notice. You only knew a ride was down if you happened to be near it while it was actually down, or near the tip board while it was down.
@@kristinotto102 Actually, that information wasnât available until the era of the smartphone, so there probably wasnât an electronic list until after the App Store was invented in July 2008.
@The WindowtotheMagic Iâm not stupid of course I k own that, who doesnât know that?! A tiny child knows that. Disney DOES âLetâ rides break down, every single day!!!!!! Itâs called MAINTENANCE. Or lack of. đđđđđđđ
My personal experience, and true there was no internet so I didnât know what was happening g every minute, and I wouldnât want to - I mean, we had actual LIVES back then. But I DO remember the pride Disney had in the excellence of their rides and park grounds. It was the ENTIRE POINT of Disneyland - a place that was always clean, friendly, courteous, competent and excellent. Not so much today.
I need a Mike wisowsky eye lmao

We haven't been since 2016. We're going on the 17th! I'm so excited! I'm bummed that we missed splash and that the tree house isn't finished, but I know it is going to be amazing regardless đ Are you guys still going on Saturdays? It'd be cool to see you!
David, at the Disneyland Hotel they are building a section called Pascal have you seen it yet? My company is providing equipment for it although I haven't see the build out myself our installers are antispating the arrival of our equipment
Do you go on rides when you do these updates or just go for the construction and state of disneyland videos
BAUHAUS is the Pixar Pier hotel art style @freshbaked it's Mid-century modern which I think makes sense overall?
Is the food any good at Jazz Kitchen? I have never eaten there.
It IS good, and they just announced a menu update. Excited for new experiences!
Hey Fresh Baked .. You ride the train yet to see if they covered that see through window into splash attraction?
The Jazz Kitchen is gorgeous! I was a little skeptical regarding the remodel. Glad I've given it a chance.đ„đ„
â€
Welcome to the Walls of Disneyland!!!
Are the rooms in the Pixar place hotel rethemed already as well? Or are they still paradise pier? Wish I would have stayed there one more time before they changed it!
Brickey won me over with his argument as to why Brennan's was redone as it was. Can't say I like it more, but I understand it better with his point of view grafted onto my understanding. The art style you are thinking of is probably more abstract modernism than cubism if we're going to get nerdy with it. But yes, cubism is a thing. It just tended to be far messier since it dealt with a conflict of a flat surface portraying a 3-dimensional world. At least that's my community college education understanding of it.
Talked to bartender at Jazz kitchen bar. And he said that the change was specifically because of Tianaâs Place having the same theme.
Thought on Jazz⊠disappointed. They gave us something that nobody wanted. Itâs becoming a normal mall food court type restaurant⊠we want themed dining. Thoughts on Pixar Place⊠not as bad as I initially thought. Some extra theming elements are helping it look more Disney. However, still very subdued and plain. What a great video Fresh Baked. Thank you for the updates!!
Are they going to use the waterwhell from splash for the waterwhell at the treehouse? đ€
Let guess. I say still another 9 months for the tree house
Let guess. Absolutely.
Does anyone know when Disneyland decorates for Halloween? I'm taking my son August 17th
Looks like Funko pop
Really need that 2ND STARBUCKS at DTD
I can't sleep at night wondering what more news is coming out about Disney.
Thanks for sharing đđŒ
any news on FANTASMIC or murphy Maleficent Dagon yet
it will be down at least into the fall Lauri-Jean. Some are hinting it may be closed for the rest of the year, Lets hope not!
Youâre in for a miserable time if youâre about rides and short waits at DL. Many rides are closed for refurbishment and many more go down due to breakdowns. As I wrote this there are a total of 8 rides down for one reason or another at Disneyland. This causes massive wait times (therefore incentive to buy genie plus) for all of the other rides. For the same price if admission. Have fun!!!
How many rides arenât closed?
@@WindowtotheMagic you know better than most that for each ride closed the impact to the rest of the queues is significant. Many rides hold many dozens of people. Associated queues hold up to hundreds more. Rides closed and all of those people cram other queues. Doesnât take a genius.
@@glen7567 I was just curious what the percentage of rides closed was⊠itâs gotta be pretty small.
@@WindowtotheMagic itâs always âsmallâ but each ride closed impacts other lines in a major way. You know this.
@@glen7567 Sure, but even if Space Mountain closed temporarily, there are 57 other attractions at Disneyland that can potentially absorb that line. Even with 8 attractions closed⊠thereâs still 50 other attractions for people to visit.
I agree with your point that every closure increases the lines for the others, but my point is that increased line length is, in most cases, totally livable.
Is the Mint Julip window closed in New Orleans SQ? If it is do you think they will reopen it? Thank you
Yes and yes.
I hope Disney saves some of the stuff from the ride
We were going to buy points at the DVC tower at Disneyland but after the past couple visits the maintenance inside the park has made our visits so frustrating. I can't recommend traveling across the country to Disneyland until they figure out all the ride breakdowns and park cleanliness issues.
I was planning to buy DVC points at the new tower until the transient tax basically put the annual dues in the same range as Vero Beach.
The jazz kitchen looks like a fedex in a strip mall.
In the concept art for DTD. wouldn't the square foundation be the square building in the bottom right corner of the concept art? I miss the New Orleans feel that RB had before the redesign. blah.
What does tiana look like from the train?
Bahdum Tstcssss!
So, where are the mountains in Louisiana?
In NOLA. It's easy spot. Just look for the talking frogs and trumpet playing gator.
Look up âLouisiana Salt Domesâ on Google.
You're a Louisiana salt dome! đ
Crazy to see Splash Mountain have the construction walls up. We know Disney doesn't play with construction projects, but it seems surreal almost. What will happen to all those animatronics? It would be cool if Disney auctioned them off for charity or something.
Not happy about jazz kitchen. Looks like a Jamba Juice. I wonder if the Pixar hotel theming is supposed to mimic the Pixar campus?
Howdy!
David, Iâm loving the switch to voice over for construction updates. It really works for this type of video.
Absolutely. Way less bright than the in-park audio. Very enjoyable.
Still not happy about the retheming of Splash Mountain. Disney dropped the ball with the timing of the announcement and it gave the appearance of pandering to one particular group of people. The announcement was only for the retheming of Splash Mountain. Over time the retheme suddenly included a store and a restaurant. I don't know how much more of the park they will give to this Tiana theme and continued pandering. Apparently just Splash Mountain wasn't enough. They need to wake up and realize that there are far more people of many more ethnicities than the group they are trying to appease.
I like how you carefully avoided referring to âthat one particular groupâ because you think it masks your opinion of that particular group.
It doesnât.
â@@WindowtotheMagic well it depends Disney to expensive for are family any ways. To me I don't mind the change but I feel like they should of did it differently way. Trust me there some stuff I wish I go to but their just a lot of stuff I don't like with the online fast passes. I have in older phone were it doesn't Qr code. So it not I usually friendly for me. But everyone has different opinions to me though universal is fun and can't wait to see their new park.
Did you happen to see any Splash Mountain merchandise anywhere? Maybe on sale or clearance? I'm going to be there next week and would love it if they still had some we could snatch up.
The only splash merch theyâve had as of late is the Splash Mountain penny smasher on the outside wall of Pooh Corner (it was there when I was there 2 weeks ago) so it miiiight still be there but I make no guarantees haha
Is Ralph Brennan even on any signage?
I have a hard time that anyone in his family would approve of this.
We are really going to miss Splash Mountain. Not excited for this reskin. đ
We are always confused by people who say they are not excited about something that they literally know nothing about. We know the new theme is Tianaâs Bayou Adventure, but we know very little of what it will be.
What specifically are you hearing that you arenât excited about?
I like the style of the Pixar Hotel, but I feel like itâs designed to target people going to the convention center, not the parks.
Never seen a refurb last for as long as the mundane treehouse. So curious what is causing this delay.
Given that the original treehouse opened in 1962, my guess is that the structure holding up the fake tree became structurally unsound. My guess is the whole thing was rebuilt.
@@orion7763 your guess would be incorrect. Iâve been watching. The tree was never removed to be rebuilt.
They purdy much reinforced and rebuilt every part of it. It should be good to go for three maybe four weeks! Just kidding. It will be good for another 40 years!
Anyone know when Tiana's ride in Florida opens?
2024
"Jazz kitchen" looks absolutely downgraded.đą
that paint on the french market looks horrendous
Itâs not finished.
@@WindowtotheMagic the concept art looks horrendous regardless
@@shaunpoland5656 Well, then I guess not everyone likes everything. Iâm sure there will be other places that youâll find enjoyable.
They've hardly started and it already looks 20 times better than the concept art! There's hope!
I admit, the concept art of Tiana's palace is horrific!
Iâm so happy the Matterhorn is open and they can get rid of Ralph Brennan sign. That thing is just too disgusting but donât get rid of the shrimp and grits I dont care what color the wall is as long as the shrimp and grits stay, put I personally like sitting up on the patio, second floor of the table by the railing . supposed pretty soon.
