    • @0live0wire0
      @0live0wire0 Před 6 lety +3

      I've seen the movie for the first time when I was 9 and loved it, although of course I didn't understand any of the political stuff. When I grew older I started appreciating the maturity and realism it brings to the story. It's a great touch by Lucas, and I understand why he went with the comic relief in the face of Jar Jar and the gungans - he felt the movie would be unbalanced otherwise. I am not a fan of Jar Jar and the choices he made with him, but this sure doesn't spoil the experience for me. Most of the prequel haters are bandwagon idiots and treat hating on them for the sake of the meme itself. George created Ep I using many elements of IV, comparing it to rhyming in poetry. I think he did a great job, but he really outdid himself in ROTS - it is definitely the darkest and most mature SW has ever been (Empire comes next).
      Ewoks we much more of a disaster, since they came at the culmination of the trilogy and looked like teddy bears. The Endor line in ROTJ was handled poorly and it really takes a toll on the finale, especially when you have the parallel Luke vs Vader showdown which is one of the greatest scenes in SW.

    • @lukeanastasiades5657
      @lukeanastasiades5657 Před 6 lety +3

      THAT is exactly what most fans miss! The politics is the story of how Sideous manipulated his way to the Chancellor's office. It is actually brilliant how meticulously he pulls the strings of both sides through out the trilogy to ultimately bring down the Republic and the Jedi! Also, many fans falsely say that Darth Maul was unimportant. No, precisely the opposite! Maul had the more influence than any other character. The outcome of the Duel of the Fates decides the fate of the REST OF THE SERIES. So much hangs in the balance in this one scene. Let's go through each scenario.
      1: If Qui Gon Jinn and Maul both die then Obi Wan gets the job of training Anakin (which ended in disaster).
      2: If Obi Wan Dies, and Maul lives, then Qui Gon is left to go 1on 1 with Maul and likely dies. (A 1v1 is what got him killed in the first place). Then Maul may do one of two things: go back to sideous and report his work or go and slaughter Padme and her team therefore causing the Prequel trilogy and Star Wars at large (as we know it) to end before it can begin. In the first case anakin never gets trained and so, he lives a life as a regular citizen of the republic. He would likely become a pilot. He could marry Padme and still have Luke and Leia. In this case, Luke would likely follow his father's footsteps and become a great (or greater pilot). Leia would likely become an ambassador (as she does in the regular timeline) and possibly works with her mother in the senate. In the second case, Star Wars as we know it never happens. It still continues, but looks much different than out timeline. Anakin grows up, again likely as a pilot. However, from there his life goes on completley differently. He may have a long and fruitful career in the Republic Navy. In both cases Maul goes on to play a much bigger role in Sideous's plan. The Republic may still fall, but how it would fall would look foriegn to how it fell in our timeline.
      3: If Both Jedi die early on and Maul lives, then everything changes radically. Anakin is not trained and therefore does not become a Jedi and therefore never falls to the dark side and therefore never becomes Darth Vader. Not to mention that the effort to retake Theed would fail, because Maul would slaughter Padme and her team and therefore the Prequel trilogy and Star Wars at large (as we know it) ends before it can begin. This doesn't mean that Star Wars can't continue just that it is totally different. The main difference being that Anakin lives a life completley different to that which he lives in our timeline. Also, Maul goes on to play a much bigger role in Sideous's plan. The Republic may still fall, but how it would fall would look foriegn to how it fell in out timeline. This differs from 2 because unlike in two, here Maul kills the Jedi much sooner than in the original timeline. Therefore he has more time on his hands and almost certainly opts to slaughter the queen and her team.
      4: If they all die (however unlikely it is) then, again Anakin never gets trained and therefore does not become a Jedi and thereore never falls to the dark side and therefore never becomes Darth Vader. But, unlike when both jedi die, this time there is still a chance that his life mirrors his life in out timeline. Here, Anakin likely grows up to be a regular pilot for the republic. Also, he could marry Padme and still have Luke and Leia. In this case, Luke would likely follow his father's footsteps and become a great (or greater pilot). Leia would likely become an ambassador (as she does in the regular timeline) and possibly works with her mother in the senate.
      5: If Darth Maul dies and Both Jedi live then things change in a different way. Out of all 5 scenarios, this is the best case scenario for the Jedi and the Republic. Also it is the only one where Qui Gon survives. In this case, Qui Gon goes on to teach Anakin in the ways of the force, and Obi Wan is free to better himself as a Jedi. This is significant because first Qui Gon was known as a grey Jedi, meaning he didn't always agree with the standard Jedi teaching. Also, he has experience in training padawans to knighthood. Second, one of the major factors in Anakin's fall was how poor of a teacher Obi Wan was. The only reason why he was teaching Anakin was because he was the chosen one and because it was Qui Gon's dying wish. Obi Wan was not ready and he knew it. That is why Obi Wan was fearful about faling to train Anakin and that is what caused him to be such a bad teacher. With Qui Gon training Anakin Anakin has a proper teacher and father figure in his life. Therefore he has someone to discuss all of his troubles with. Instead of Anakin being insubbordinate and cocky, Qui Gon Properly teaches him dicipline. Instead of Anakin bottleing up his negative thoughts and feelings, he has a father figure to teach him how to deal with these things properly. Therefore, he never is plagued by fear of losing his mother (they might both go and check on her) and even if he loses her, he has a father figure to help him deal with that loss and the emotions that go with it. Also, because of all of this he never acts awkquardly near Padme, and instead is much more mature. He never seeks Sideous's approval because he is getting it from Qui Gon, and so when he has nightmares about Padme dying, he goes to Qui Gon instead of Sideous. Sideous would still try to manipulate Anakin, but Anakin would not be so conflicted and would have more skepticism about what Sideous says. He would bring it to Qui Gon's attention and from there Sideous may very well have to find a different Person to use in his plot becuase Anakin would have more faith and trust in the Jedi and jedi way. All the while Obi Wan becomes a much better defined Jedi. Inthis scenario Anakin will likely live a fruitful jedi career and would fulfill his destiny without destroying the Jedi. In Short with Qui Gon as his master, Anakin is a strong jedi, confident in where he is, confident in the things he believes, is a much more mature man in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, and was taught, and never falls to the dark side. He still marrys Padme, but that would not destroy his ability to be a Jedi becuse he wouldn't have the black and white perspective that he has in our time line. Basically, with this outcome to the Duel of the Fates, everyone wins (except Sideous and the Sith).
      With all these fates, this theme and the scene it adorns are appropriately named the Duel of the Fates.

      But that's about it.
      I always thought that John Williams sort of gave up on Star Wars after Phantom Menace when he saw its poor quality. At least the scores for the other two prequel episodes were much, much less memorable to me, aside from the main themes (Across the Stars and Battle of Heroes). Maybe he didn't believe The Force Awakens could be any better so he didn't make that much of an effort and came up with the otherwise high quality score fitting his name but which felt more generic than expected... Anyways, this is just my very subjective opinion.

    That was a PHENOMENAL performance!!!!! Chorus was a little funny but thats okay. He had more ferocity than John williams! still excellent! This was a much more ferocious intense version than the original one. No disrespect to the immortal John Williams though. But Diego did a GODLY job of it! Where he lacked in a few places, he more than made up for in others! 5/5!!!

    John Williams - "Right guys, good news, I've put together this kick-ass track for the new Star Wars movie - the bad news is ... sorry string section but 90 percent of the time you have this one short loop to play, soz!"

    I've noticed that in most of these attempts, it's the chorus that really ends up being the weaker half of the song. The tempo for the piece isn't too terribly fast to be honest, it seems the choir fails to reach the right pitch.

      There's one guy in the chorus with an amazingly strong voice though, you can really hear it at 3:40

      They are on a stage instead of a sound room. And the pitch is exactly how the piece is written. Although the choir was a little overpowering and went a little too heavy on the falsetto, the sound mix overall was pretty decent. No performance is ever going to be exactly the same each time.
