When i look at the chart with elliott count aside, we are in 1hr 4hr etc rising wedge in downtrend so dont those almost always break to the downside? So that would make the bearish scenario you mention maybe more likely

It has a wedge shape yes. Though, a wedge can also be a multi 1-2, besides bearish corrective structures. That's of course where EW comes in :)
