    The sprocket nut and axle nut is 27mm deep 6 lug socket. Axle torque is 79 ft lbs, and sprocket is 72 ft lbs. Don't forget tab down. Good chain set for 16 th is 1 5/8"

      Thanks for watching 👀 and Commenting 🙏 Bradley, Highway travel is excellent, now I have taller profile tyres which makes the gearing perfect, with Hoppers new tune he is quite aggressive now and is chomping at the bit, doohickey mod next and some other surprises.. 😊👍

    You surely must have heard me laughing from 17:00 to 23:00, because that is EXACTLY what I went through the other day on my 2023 KLR 650. Although, I never did get the front sprocket nut off, even after using my high-torque rattle gun. I gave up and decided that loosening that nut was a cycle shop job, even if it cost me their one-hour shop rate. .............. lol You can bet I'll tell them NOT to put the nut back on with that much torque.

    The thing about those chain tensioners is, they both have the same size hole, but the one on the left side is on the shaft of the bolt and doesn't have any slop, but the one on the right side is over the threaded part of the bolt and has a half a mark or more of slop, so the right side should be adjusted back more than the left side by half the amount of slop you have. Only if you have any sort of OCD about things like that of course. 😄 Oh I did see a guy fit a 17 tooth sprocket but he had to modify the cover a bit with a Dremel. Hope you have a lot of fun on your KLR.

      @holisticaustralia  Před rokem

      Ok 👍 Thanks K Villis for watching and commenting, I am ocd LOL, I see that if you put a rag on the chain near the rear sprocket and spin the back wheel so the rag locks in the rear sprocket it straightens the back wheel before you nip up the axle nut, I saw the bloke from overland tyres do it, he reckons if your on the trail use a stick, I have done it and it works 💪😊👍

    Most I’ve done have all been rattle gun jobs even when derestricting a Vespa scooter to get the drive plate off

    do y think 17t sprocket will fit or not ?

    • @chadkline4268
      @chadkline4268 Před rokem +1

      Yes. But you will likely need more CC's to be effective. Like a 685cc upgrade. They sell 14,15,16,17t.

    They come torqued way too tight from the factory. I had to borrow an impact gun rated at 450lbs. of torque to get mine loose. Originally tried a breaker bar with a pipe over the end of it and my son sitting on the bike holding both brakes. Not supposed to be that tight according to specs.

    • @holisticaustralia
      @holisticaustralia  Před rokem

      Yes I was thinking the water pipe however it felt like I was going to break something, I threw the forward facing kickstarter in for laughs with my Japanese work boots on... 😁👍

    • @chadkline4268
      @chadkline4268 Před rokem

      I'm not sure of the nut, but it may be that normal use tightens it. Typical if something has reverse threads.
