Congrats Russia!! Top 3 for sure! For people saying that this might not do as well as 2016, remember that this song is not made for just listen. It is an epic song that can only be appreciated with the right staging. That's the artistic part I admire. More than just a song for it to be alive. Regardless this will surely do well. 1. It shows off his vocal better
2. It has a bigger climax
3. Isn’t generic
4. Doesn’t sound like 2005
5. Doesn’t rhyme lightning and exciting
6. Wont have cheap graphics

The problem with this imo is its musical theatre. It’s not something that charts. But it is better than last time but this is l not going to be as mind blowing with its staging so probably will do worse.

what are they talking about, this song is fantastic! So much emotion in his voice and drama in the music! And he had the best male vocal performance in the finals of Eurovision 2019
I really like the song. It's so epic and touches me emotionally.
I liked "You are the only one" as well (it has reclaimed it's spot on my daily playlist recently) , but I'm glad that he tries something completely different this year.
I've become a fan of his in general. I've been to one of his concerts on his tour in Germany this year and saw him perform "Scream" live. It gave me goosebumps all over.
I wish him the best this year and will definitely spend some money on the televoting. ❤

When I compare a live vocal with the video, it sounds better in a live version for some unknown reason to me. I cannot explain that and it is keeping me quite excited to listen to his Eurovision version. I feel there might be a nice surprise with the staging as well from all interviews with their production director. I can't wait to see his performance in May.

I love this song now but I didn't at the first listening. I had to listen to it several times before it started to grow on me. I think that big part of the success of this entry will depend on the staging which I really believe it will be epic.

Strong presentation, I especially liked the orchestra, I hope at Eurovision it will show the world that we still deserve a decent relationship, at least as a country that has professionals in the field of music !!!
It is a very very good song. But we will have to wait to see how the public will react. I sense mixed reactions from the televoters. This is a strong year so this has to be perfect. Russia is well known for their amazing set up of stagings but i am not sure this is enough to win. We will see! Still, this is very very good. Top 10 material.

I agree with the reactors and the Comments here that the song is more of a grower rathan than an instant banger. The song is definitely not perfectly, like it's trying to be the genre of "epic music" but falls short. But you know, it's Sergey and it's Russia. They'll do well. Staging will determine how well it'll do

@@Shellydaliie That was with a dance pop song which went well with the fast paced things going on with the screen. This song is too slow to have a flashy background LED and lights.

I think it's an credible entry ... the staging is gonna be amazing ... but this is not going to win, at all ... the juries are gonna give this 6-15th Place ... idk about the Televote ... good luck russia :)
@DixAster1 He won't. The jury don't favour Russia at all. If he sings the best and has the best staging, he still won't receive top marks from juries. They will probably give that to Sweden.
@DixAster1 Yes I know it was combined. In 2015, the second place was awarded to Latvia, Russia came 3rd. In comparison to their televoting score, Russia is way behind for juries. And what are you talking about for 'did it all on purpose, 24 countries scored 0 points'? That never happened. In this year's field with much better songs, Russia will not win. It probably will score very high, but not a winner. Btw 'marks' are for tests and exams, not competition results.
@DixAster1 I didn't say that. He can go with any song but the jury will never favour him, because they never favour Russia. They are never 1st place and never or rarely 2nd with the jury. Also, what is a voice rule?? That doesn't exist. you mean voting rule? ANd what you said is completely false. An opinion is an opinion, there are no good or bad opinions. Everyone's opinion is their own and is different. That rule would never exist in Eurovision. And again, I know the votes will be read out differently - It's a horrible idea. A winner could be announced 3/4 way into the televoting results. There is no climax and it would just be all over the place with no logical connection.

I listened to this once when it first came out and I haven’t listened to it since...I can’t really warm to it, it seems a bit...try hard almost 😂 but it’s definitely a decent song and I’m sure it will be epic on stage

I have on my Top 20 for a reason, this is good but not convincing enough. I had the SAME problem in 2016. This doesn’t feel natural, I don’t connect with the story at all, and they rely so much on the dramatics, this feels flat and fake. This will do extremely well, because it’s Sergey and Russia, but this will give a huge mixed reaction regardless of how it’s staged.
This is not my favourite song this year but I do think they will give all they can to impress in Tel Aviv.

The song sounds veeery good but the vid kinda ruins it?
Go Chloe! you said it best. I don't get the same impact as 'You are the Only One.' It's a bit of a let down. Is it a ballad, Broadway show tune, or a funeral dirge? Even with incredible staging and no Ukraine in the shadows, the juries will kill this song. The televotes will be lackluster ( Switzerland, Netherlands, Cyprus and Greece will rock the televotes this year.) No doubt he'll make it to the final but not a winner for me.
It's not a bad song, it's okay. It's really overrated in the odds tho, just because it's Sergey. Definitely not top 10 material for me.
