- Ahhh Demon's Crest... what a unforgiving game. I have to say that the last two bosses are a pain in the ass! But overall, the game is fun and the graphics are gorgeous for a SNES game!

Just a quick question.
I got a 70 in 1 game with demon's crest as one of the games. I got to arma 1 and can't seem to get past him, I have shot him many times but he won't die, do I have to pick up an item for better shooting power to shoot him with?

I just found this game (playing on Switch, the SNES pack), and im absolutely loving it so far, i think its an absolute hidden gem, it perfectly combines difficulty and fairness like all good games in its genre

The very final boss is easily one of the biggest pains in the ass I ever faced on my SNES.
Problem is, the boss LOVES to block your shots with his arm and 'hoods'. And the platform just wont stop moving left to right constantly while all this shit of him shooting lightning and orb of lightning at you.
While criminally underrated, Demon's Crest is a game that holds a lot of value and charm. Personally, I think this game is a masterpiece in every aspect. And that's saying a lot considering its age.

I find it quite surprising how all of the legions of hell even Phalanx shit their pants to whatever the hell the Dark Demon truly is, what kind of monster is the Dark Demon? Is it perhaps an avatar of Hades or is it really the true ruler of hell?
Something like a ruler probably, his battle reminds me of a fallen seraphim, three faces corrupted, something like Abaddon, the abyss itself .
Grewon 1 is legit irritating. Once you get the pattern he is way easier than Pharalax. Would be a joke if his hits didnt take down so much. I didnt know you had to get the 4th transformation before fighting him so I beat him with the regular fire. I didnt know this game was like Mega Man.

Yea he is weak to fire so you chose the right form. Beating him with anything other than fire or legendary is a giant pain.

What a pain in the ass.
Swapping between talisman's helped. I don't bother fighting the first form, he's too erratic, just focus on dodging and then when he stops to piss blood I launch a ton of shots into him or when he turns into his second form I just wait for him to be solid or whatever and keep switching between armour and fang. Every other boss was easy but that guy was annoying to say the least. I read somewhere that A. Gargoyle does more damage, but fuck that because you take more damage too.
I used a save state, but only so I didn't have to keep grinding for ginseng or I would have just given up, the way I see it I just saved myself time and I didn't make it easier because the save state was right at the beginning of the fight. You have to be some sort of savant to do that without ginseng, but I only used 4 in the end so I'm pretty happy with that. Great game, pain in the ass ending.

Yui Linkmat I'm thinking it's just the urns and vellums talismans and crests and firepower except the ultimate gargoyle
you can fight him with all items except one, so you don't need to do the 3rd headbutt minigame, the only difference is that you won't get the Dark Demon password

You can fly above him when he gets too close and then change again into G.Gargoyle to do damage and repeat the process until he's dead.
The G. Gargoyle's ground attack is at least twice as powerful than its air attack in most cases, so always use that repeatedly instead of jumping into the monster until one vitality is remaining.
You can also dash beneath him when he jumps as G. Gargoyle.
Dang I was fighting him with the claw and regular fire. I think I had like 7 health points and it took awhile for this to go down

Capcom side-scrollers are unforgiving gauntlets of pain. I'm convinced they actually don't want the vast majority of players to get very far.

Only that demon Crest has what Mario odyssey has when Mario loses, infinite 1ups minus losing the coins and checkpoints.
well tbf the games back then werent very long, so to compensate for lack of length they used difficulty to increase the time one would spend on a game before getting bored with it. tho the capcom ones tend to be fair at least, just very difficult
They were difficult in the arcade era, after home consoles they became easier over time
am i the only one who thought phalanx was way harder then TDD? Not that the dark demon wasnt hard, but I seriously think phalanx took me like 100+ attempts as a kid(TDD probably around 30-40 attempts)

Uhhh SPOILER ALERT DONT YOU THINK; Did you really have to reveal the main boss of the game on your cover photo, I know these games are old, but they have more imagination than most modern games, so it’ll be nice to not spoil alert the future generations don’t you think? I wasn’t even searching for this video, & it just popped out when I logged in, & BOOM, now I know what the main boss looks like not because I found out for myself but because some jerk wanted to reveal it on his main cover for this video, & if that is not the main MAIN boss on your photo cover, well I still believe this is a low & disgraceful move on your part for the sake of imagination & the future generation
