I like this idea but yeah they need to deal with having to disconnect the unit. That should not be an issue and should be protected.
Very informative and you get right to the point. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Did you know that placing your solar behind any glass lowers the max panel output? It's quite significant to bee honest
We've had teens and twentys too, below normal temps for early November. Our vehicles sit in a nice warm garage. So would not work for me unless I had a long cord.😀 Great device for van dwellers, boondockers
Storing the vehicles in a nice warm garage is the best way to do it for sure. I agree 100%, using this as a van dweller or boondocker is what I was thinking as well. Luckily I never needed one but it would give some nice piece of mind if you were sitting in one camp location for a couple of weeks. I think I may do a video of this device on my WannaBFree channel for all the van dwellers and boondockers to see.
A short would go viral😀
I don't know about "viral" but I'll give it a shot. LOL
So, you risk damaging the product if you use a remote starting system?
I believe so, the instructions state that the vehicle alternator output can damage the unit if the vehicle is started with the trickle charger plugged in or connected to the battery. That's a good question and something I never thought about until you mentioned it. I don't have a remote starting system on my vehicles.
@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 i do, so great Advice !!
Are you interested in recovering sulfated batteries?
Yes, I am currently working on a video where I use a welder to restore a sulfated battery. We'll see if it works :)
@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 I've been using a desulfator for years that's under $20. I was buying them on eBay but it seems those listings have dried up. I found them on Ali Express and ordered a few, I'll probably order a few more because I lose them and give them away.
I originally bought one out of frustration. After one year my $150(probably significantly more 7 years later) truck battery was so dead you couldn't jump start it and the trickle charger did nothing to it. At the time it cost me around $12 plus a little AC adapter to try out the desulfator, I figured it was too good to be true/a $12 gamble, but after one night on the desulfator, the battery was restored enough to start the truck easily. The past 7 years I've been buying batteries mostly out of convenience because I don't have time to do desulfate a battery and need it ASAP but most batteries that I've had go bad have been able to be restored by the desulfators I've been buying with the exception of a few. I have tried another desulfator that didn't seem to work at all.
I definitely feel like this is something that not enough people know about, I also think this could be a game changer for people trying to run lead acid battery banks for solar.
If you're interested I can give you a link to where you can buy the specific diesulfator I've been using with great success. CZcams might let me put it in the comment section.
That's neat! Sure I'll let you put the link in the comments, I'd like to have a look at it. Maybe I'll even get one myself.
@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 my comment with the link seems to have evaporated.
I don't know why, I never saw the post.
