Today things appear to have fallen very far from what we were used to.. or are are we missing something??? What are your thoughts?

I'm a blue collar worker who just journeyed out and making 6 figures minimum, I was saving a massive down payment for the 2024 Tacoma and literally having dreams about it, deeply excited as I waited for over a year and wanted one so bad, the second they released the MASSIVE MSRP jump, I noped out...
If I'm going to spend a minimum of 50k, not including the hybrid, I'd rather get a brand new F150 Powerboost that can tow double and comes with a 7.2 KW generator mode..
This is deeply depressing, the middle class is completely priced out from everything short of renting an apartment and driving a used economy car.

I feel you, my fellow blue-collar brother
I, too, was excited about getting one of these for a long time
      Bout a year of waiting
I was very skeptical about the 4cyl turbo
But was willing to trust toyota
I was finally ready to pull the trigger on a 2024 taco trd offroad
So I went to preorder it
The lowest the wanted was 55k
      Not even softex seats
The only way to get those seats was to pay 8k more for a package
The build they showed me was very basic
It was practically an sr5 with a trd emblem
After weeks and weeks of research
I came to the conclusion that 50k+ for a 4cyl turbo made in mexico just isn't worth it
So I ended up buying a honda Ridgeline trailsport and couldn't be happier

Even the base SR trim Tacoma starts at $31,500, but good luck finding one on ANY dealer's lot. Loads of Limiteds, TuRD PRO's and SR5's with the TuRD Pack already fitted, but no work trucks to be found anywhere. Same with the Tundra. What does Toyota plan to do with all these unsold BlingTonkas, crush them?

No way I'd pay that much. Again, its a good little truck and it moves, its comfortable, stable, blah blah...but no, it should not be 50, 55k. Maybe 45k. Even that is rough, but fine, inflation.
