    In this Cinema 4d tutorial, I go over how to create a material that has both wet and dry spots on a single surface. This tutorial uses Redshift, but this technique can be used in just about every other renderer as well.

    Hi, at 7:50 you say that you can't drag RS materials into the node editor for a different RS material. Well, yes and no. Yes: you cannot drag a material directly from the materials window into the node editor, but no: you can use the reference node in the material that is supposed to use another material and drag that other material in the appropriate link field. So you can build materials by incorporating other materials without having to copy the node tree.
