#1 What don’t you understand? You are surprised he did not expect you were doing 170? You have no business on the road.
Stick to a pedal bike
"Wow, that guy didn't expect me to go 170mph"
Probably never even saw him as he was that far away when he started turning.
But hey, the biker takes full responsibility before writing something that silly.🤣
that is amost 250 feet a second. I doubt the driver of the truck even know the bike was there until it flew by.
Three seconds away at 170 mph is 750 feet. And you are only two feet wide. That's less than one pixel at 1080p. And your eyes don't have to even be that sharp to pass a DMV eye exam. Expect to be invisible at that speed, and expect to yield to everybody.
O R G A N D O N O R
At 170 it doesn't matter what the other guy does...they don't expect something coming at them at that speed.
Judge: "170 mph? Guilty!"
Yeah- as if he SAW him! At that speed car is a dot, a motorcycle is a speck on the horizon when you decide to turn.
Traveling at 250 feet per second and the biker expects anyone to know that. That dude is lucky he didn't kill himself
I don't think he understands what it means to "take responsibility"
@@Roddy556 He takes responsibility for blaming someone else i guess.
I love the phrasing "cut across the double yellow line" when he actually just made a legal turn. And why not wait 3 seconds? Maybe because you were just a dot on the horizon 3 seconds before he turned.
Yeah, truck driver couldn't possibly know how fast the idiot biker was traveling and bearing down on him.
Pickup truck never even saw that motorcycle, guaranteed.
word, the moto had the best luck ever... got to sht his pants and the truck driver didn't stop halfway like some do
Yeah truck driver did nothing wrong. Does buddy realize he can cut a minivan full of kids in half at that speed?
@@cgraham6 Def. That biker just missed being turned into the red mist.
#1 : Future organ doner got lucky this time .
Yeah. He won’t be riding like that for long.
There would be no donatable organs. And who would want that brain anyway?
@@CliffCollipriest2013 Hell the brain is the best part, it's nearly mint condition as little as it's been used!🤣🤣
In Australia we call them "temporary Australians"
This short comment thread is gold. Unused brain, temporary Australian 😂
Doing 170 on public roads, especially on a motorcycle, is stupid. Don't be stupid. Or do but don't complain if there's almost an accident.

Well, when he started across, you looked to be plenty far away to turn, but then again the driver probably thought you were going at least 100 mph slower.
at least! LOL
" i take full responsibility " proceeds to explain why he's not going to claim full respondsibility 🤦♂️. Bikers got some nerve pulling that shit and then blaming others when they fuck up.
Once the other driver saw that you were a safe distance away for him to safely complete the turn, he focused his eyes on where his vehicle was going and not to his right 🤷
Most motorcycle speedometers are off at least 10-15% so he was probably only doing 150 so we shouldn't be so hard on him. 🤣🤣
exactly
170 mph. That's your get out of hell free card. Future organ donor for sure. Your license should be revoked indefinitely
At that speed there wouldn't be much of the organs left.
@@deadon4847 Agree, They'd just be mush.
No need to revoke license. We need more organ donors.
That’s right ! I’d make it revoked immediately and permanently.
Revokation does nothing but create one more driver/rider on the road with a revoked license. They won't even driver more carefully to avoid attention...just not that intelligent.
Clip #1- maybe because someone driving the posted speed limit wouldn't have creeped up on him so fast that he wouldn't have made the turn in time, but going 170 MPH that gap shortens up really quick compared to the normal speed limit. Not his fault.
I guess his brain doesn't move as fast as his bike can.

0:07 Speed limit? What speed limit. Another Darwin Award candidate
At the same time whining about a driver crossing unbroken-lines legally!
I too would have turned across that road, not expecting a motorbike to come at me faster than a jumbo jet on a takeoff roll.
0:02. Why couldn't truck driver take three more seconds, go behind you instead of in front of you? Driver understandably underestimated your speed. You have to expect others to misapprehend or miscalculate your speed when it's that much over the speed limit.
The guy thinks that only his navel exists in the world, and everybody should know that his navel is moving around and should act all around his entitlement.
The Corvette video is over 8 years old at this point.

I've told you a million times, don't exaggerate.
#1 has GOT to be bait, right? “I just don’t understand why…” my brother in Christ you were doing minimum over 3x the speed limit on a machine that people have a hard time noticing in the best of circumstances.
0:13 Are you joking? Driver probably looked and saw you way back or possibly not at all...100% on you buddy.
200% agree
I haven't read through the huge number of comments on the first clip but just in case it hasn't been mentioned, crossing a double yellow to make a LEFT TURN is generally legal in most states when making a turn into another road or a driveway so, no, the car itself crossing the double-yellow doesn't mean he'd be at fault if you were killed! ...and I'd be willing to bet that you'd have been killed going at that speed if a collision had occurred.
WheelieWeasel is the kind of rider that gives other riders a bad name. On his youtube channel, he "acknowledges" he was going 170, but still tries to pass the blame off on the pickup. Saying "he broke more laws than I did" by simply making a left turn over the double yellow lines with no turn signal. "I just don't understand why he didn't wait 3 extra seconds" most likely due to when he went to look into the oncoming lane before he made his turn you *looked* far enough away to make the turn, then his focus was on the turn. He just didn't account for you to be going, most likely, 3X the speed limit.
Had you simply been going a more reasonable speed, you most likely would never even get close to the pickup.
3:53 I like how both of the racers suffered from this decision
1. “I just don’t understand-“
I’m gonna stop you right there. There’s nothing for you to understand. If you’re going 170, anything bad that happens is entirely on you. You’re dumb enough to go that fast, so be smart enough to own up to your mistake.
1:30 How in the hell is there not a system that prevents these trucks from driving above 10 mph when the dump is up? How is there not an obnoxious/intolerable alarm that goes off?
Or something that actually limits the speed of the vehicle to 10mph. I'm guessing it's fuel injected. That means a computer. That means they can limit fuel based on the status of the bed. None of that is very hard to do.
I live in a city and there is rarely a time that I can't hear the beeping from various trucks in reverse - which honestly, I'm not sure if that has saved any lives. But I've seen enough of these videos of trucks with the bed up, damaging all kinds of things to realize there needs to be SOMETHING.
I live in Vancouver Canada and these trucks do millions of dollars in damage to lights and highway overpasses every year. You don't need a light just look in the side view mirror and you can easily tell your truck dump is up.
Mine is not a dump truck, but does have a PTO. I have rigged it to sound an alarm if RoadRanger High is selected while the PTO is engaged.

Clip one - a friend of mine witnessed a very serious accident where an elderly person pulled out in front of a motorcycle. There was more than enough room to make the turn, but the car driver didn't realize that the bike was going more than double the speed limit, and covered that distance a lot faster than the car driver expected it to. It was not pretty.
The two Corvettes racing has to be at least a decade old, c'mon man! 😄

#1: You covered the distance at nearly three times the expected rate. At the speed limit, or even rationally above it, he had more than safe time for the turn. There just are no US roads, other than some major highways, that allow safe travel over 100mph.
In the first clip the teuck was turning where they needed to. Don't know why you thought 170 towards a truck was a smart idea
@ 0:13- He literally could not see you. You're a .5 meter shape moving at more than 100mph. Even if you had your headlight on you wouldn't register to the human eye as something coming toward them.
That's the same reason that deer and other wildlife crash into vehicles: Their optics and brains can't compute the presence of the moving vehicle and the speed that it's advancing.
1st clip. They didn't wait for you to pass because YOU WAS DOING 170MPH. Nobody expects you to be going that fast dude. Come on.

5:20 This happened here: 35° 6'37.29"N 85°13'45.88"W That section of 153S is terrible on a daily basis. People fly around the onramp and barge their way into traffic instead of trying to safely merge. So a lot of drivers will clog up the left lane for this very reason.
the Police in Arkansas are not shy about using the pit maneuver.
The first clip. Don't throw the blame on the truck turning. You could have slowed down 115 mph and ride like a true rider and not an asshat. If that wasn't a teachable moment to you then you're bound to the ground if you keep it up.
4:57 CFI. Enough said. Personally seen them do too many things like this around here. Fortunately, their terminal in right across the street from the hospital.

0:01 WheelieWeasel is getting roasted on his channel about this video, and he's been heavy on the defense.
I've brought some of his comments to this thread, put them in italics, and added my thoughts.
_"I don’t understand why he couldn’t waited 3 more seconds"_
So you needed three more seconds to be safe. Three seconds at 170 mph is 748 feet, let’s call it 750. So you will be 750 away at the beginning of those three seconds. The maximum speed limit in Kentucky is 65 mph (except on certain designated roads). 65 mph is 95.333 feet per second. So from 750 feet away, it would take almost eight seconds to cover that much space at 65 mph. In the eyes of the other driver (and arguably anyone else) it looks like you’re eight seconds away. That’s plenty enough gap to make a left turn. You’re the one driving at an unreasonable speed, it’s up to you to make adjustments to adapt to vehicles around you that are doing perfectly normal stuff.
_"We was 63ft apart exactly when he pulled out"_
_"Those trucks are 18ft long with a stock bed."_
Let’s use your own numbers to get to the truth. 170 mph is 250 feet per second. So it would take 0.252 seconds to cover 63 feet at 170 mph. The truck is 18 feet long bumper to bumper (it would be even longer diagonally corner to corner). So the truck must cover a minimum of 18 feet in 0.252 seconds. That is a velocity of 71.23 mph. So the fastest way to cross a road is at a 90 degree angle. Any angle less than 90 degrees would require an even greater speed to cross.
_"As I was coming down the hill I noticed the truck was slowing down but he had no turn signal on and I didn’t expect him to cross the double yellow"_
By your own statements and numbers, the truck slowed down, made a left turn, and kept his speed above 71.23 mph the whole time. Watching the video, it appears the truck is actually moving at a much lower speed.
63 feet is less than the length of a typical tractor-trailer. Pause the video as the left front tire touches the yellow line. How may tractor-trailers would fit in the space between you and the truck? From my perspective, several. Your 63 feet number just doesn’t add up. It was a much greater distance than 63 feet.
_"I have a video on my old channel doing a flyby in that same spot and you could see me 1/4 mile before I got there and could clearly tell I was haulin ass and it was at the edge of dark."_
It’s a huge assumption that everyone else you share the highway with has eyesight as sharp as you. But you seem willing to gamble your life on that assumption.
_"Dude wasn’t in a turning lane and had no signal lights."_
There is nothing to indicate that a left turn is forbidden there. Left turns are allowed at many intersections that don’t have left turn lanes. This is one of them. The truck is slowing down approaching a crossroad. There is no other traffic that would cause the truck to need to change speed. It should be obvious to you the reason the truck is slowing down is to turn, whether or not he is displaying a turn signal. If your skills are so lacking that you cannot predict and anticipate someone turning from those simple clues, then you need a lot more practice below legal speeds to hone your skills before even thinking about running 170 mph in traffic.
_"in ky you’re supposed to come to a complete stop before crossing any road or intersection. It’s statute 189.330"_
Only to obey a stop or yield sign. Nothing else in that statute requires a complete stop. Nothing in that statute would apply to the driver you refer to in this clip that would require them to make a complete stop.
_"We live in a drug infested area so the odds of the guy being under the influence of something as small as weed is extremely high."_
And you still think it is safe to drive 170 mph and share the road with such drivers?
_"If a 500lb bike screaming at 15k rpm is coming at you in a 2,500ft stretch in broad daylight you have plenty of time to notice how fast I’m going if not you don’t need to be on the road."_
It’s not anyone else’s responsibility to stay out of your way when you’re going 170 mph, but instead it is your responsibility to stay out of everyone else’s way.
_"We don’t have a track in the area I’m in. I’d have to make a 8hr trip there and 8hr back to go ride a track."_
If that’s what it takes, then do it. That is the only appropriate place to run at high speed. It is extremely irresponsible to use public highways as your own personal playground.
_"Legally this was my fault."_
If you are lucky enough to survive long enough to get caught running those speeds, fully expect jail time for a first offense, and prison time if anyone gets hurt.
_"I was well within my limits I wasn’t even nervous"_
Yet you’re completely rattled when someone makes a simple left turn ahead of you.
_"I can’t afford a f35 raptor"_
And they are so much cheaper than a civil liability lawsuit. Maybe even cheaper than just the lawyer.
_"I always do but when your adrenaline is pumping it’s hard"_
Adrenaline can greatly cloud a person’s reasoning and judgment. I sincerely hope you never have to reflect back and regret any unwise decision you made under the influence of adrenaline.
"the passenger was just along for the ride." No, you mean along for the flight.
The passenger was there to hold the driver's beer. Question is, did he spill it?
"Along for the ride" is the very definition of passenger.
The amount of time needed to turn when someone is coming towards you at 60 mph is much more then when someone is coming towards you at 170 mph. Pretty simple.
3:51 That's what you get when you put a low performance driver in a high performance car.

@0:00 Probably because they didn't expect some moronic khunt on a motorcycle to be driving at more than triple the speed limit endangering themselves and others so recklessly.
