His interview of Musk was one of the worst interviews I’ve ever seen. Elon would answer his question, and Lemon would seem surprised and ask him the same question again. It wasn’t about seeking the truth, it was about disagreeing with Musk and acting flabbergasted that he could have such opinions. I’m happy he was fired.

And you don't have to talk to the owner to join up.
The contract itself is within the four corners of the Terms and Conditions that you can read on the site.
Lemon's use of the platform is no different from anyone else's.

Who do you trust Elon or Lemon?
Look at Lemon's view counts, then look at any of his competitors. This is about Lemon's faltering viewership counts, and no doubt faltering budget. No money coming in, probably a lot of money coming out, and he thinks playing the victim card will get him a payout. If you've only got a verbal contract, then Lemon was dumb to blow it with such a pathetic performance during their interview.
Musk will utterly crush him in court, and the legal fees will probably ruin Lemon.
All he had to do was not ask stupid gotcha questions, and he'd probably have a thriving show; now, he's probably going to go into obscurity, and it's by his own hand.

We all know Don Lemon was launching his show on X and his first guest was Elon. I watched it. Elon was what we would call a "dickhead" during Don's first broadcast. Little did we know that it was Don's last. It was obvious there was a business agreement between Elon and Don for Don to start a talk show on his platform. Obviously we are beginning to see you can't take Elon at his word.
