- This video describes the Best Crappie Secrets for targeting Crappies in submerged Tree & Stump Systems using a 10ft Jig Pole and Soft Plastics Crappie Baits & Jigs!! The Crappie rigs are double Jig Rigs. The Lure Colors have been chosen to align with the Best Crappie search bait. The target holds live bait for Crappie so we're using the best artificial swim baits for big time Crappie in search of Grub and Blue Gills in the Creek
Great to meet you on the lake yesterday!
Dan.. good to meet you guys as well!! We'll cya out there again!!
Well done. Thanks for sharing your tips. That was a good tip to just lower 1-2 inches & hold at a time. Sometimes I keep the bait moving to fast or to much.
Yeah.. it's tough to resist isn't it.. but sometimes faster works but if not - slowing it down a bit will gett'em to strike. Thanks for watching!!!
Good stuff!
Thanks Jorge!! and thanks for Watching!
I'm more of a gardener than a fisherman, but I love to watch you doing what you love my brother. Hope you and the fam are well. Take care.
Hey Jo!!! Appreciate you My Brother!! Everyone is Well - on my side - please give Lindsay and the girls our Love and thx for Watching Bro!!!! :)
Great video. I really enjoyed watching. Also I appreciate the information as well.. I'm a new sub. 👍🏾
MJ.. Thank you so much and I really appreciate the support - More to come and thank you for Watching!!
Gorgeous angles man. Thank you!
Appreciate it! Thanks so much for watching
Ah man, great vid man. I'm definitely gonna try to learn those sloped systems
Nice - Let me know if you have any questions!
Great Video!!
Thanks so much!!
Some nice fish
Thanks Sir!!!
You make it look easy! Great video with solid techniques!
Thanks so much.. trying to provide a good viewing experience while hopefully adding some value. Thanks for watching and for the feedback!! Much appreciated!!
You’re truly an inspiration. Thanks. I was wondering how often you get hung up? Do you use any weedless jig heads or do you not find it necessary?
Dan - every now and then when I'm working the sides the structure - I get caught up.. but not too often - I use my electronics to give me the measurements so I know approximately where the tops of the Trees are - I'm actually hoping to put together a video to show how I use the electronics to stay on top of the fish - I do use Weedless occasionally but when the fish are active - I don't really need them! Thanks so much and thanks for watching!! more to come!
I’ve been trying to learn more about fishing and this definitely helped! Thanks!
My pleasure Kaden and thx for watching!!
I enjoy watching your videos. Very informative. Thank you. I do have a question though , you say that your fishing 10 ft deep of water, your going to put your bait at 8 how can you tell the depth your at and you also did not say what bait you were using. Sorry so long but trying to learn.
Thank you so much for watching Tim!! and I appreciate the feedback! Yes... water dept... I employ an easy system. My Rod is 10' So I draw the Jig to the base of the Pole and reel in 2' and keeps me about the 8' mark just above the fish - and in that video I believe I'm using a pink and Chartreuse baby shad minnow by Bobby Garland!! Great Question!! If you have any more questions - please don't hesitate to ask!! thanks again for watching!! Tight Lines!!
I thought Caesars creek was the Dead Sea. Great vid. Just bought a pelican bass 10 e . Always fished deep with Kentucky rigs but no longer have my 14ft deep v. keep up the great vids. Do you fish mouth of creek a lot?
I do.. when the water is up.. I like to check the structure adjacent to the creek channel.. thx for watching and for the feedback Bobby!! Tight lines man!
Nice Video!!
Thanks!
How many times did you get hung up, break off and had to re-tie lol. That come with the game 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 11:11
It does indeed.. but oddly enough, I was able through that circuit of the different types of cover with only one or two the whole. Most of the fish were Slightly above or right at breaking brush point! Pretty cool!! But yes Sir!! Break offs a part of the game and if we don't get a few break offs.. how well are we playing the game??? 😃 Tight Lines, Sir, and thx for reaching out!!! Fall coming soon!!!
GREAT VID!!! what rod do you use? and what would you suggest in June?
I used a "Bucks Graphite 10' Jig Pole by B&M" - I'll be doing Gear review soon for comparisons - but that's what I'm using in the vid - nothing fancy or terribly expensive - and in June - because I primarily fish a deep water lake - I target deep water structure... trees and laydowns in or adjacent to creek channels - or shallow water brush and weed lines early in the morning or late in the evening - Thanks for the feedback - my next video will be themed on targeting Crappie on deep brush! Thanks for watching! tight lines Sir!
So do you have a set depth to start with? With your tackle . I like your technique.
Hi John - Yes... and it depends on the type of Cover I'm fishing. In that video - there were a few different types of cover - submerged tree systems, partially submerged tree, stump systems and bush piles. My starting dept is usually based on where the fish are holding in relation to the cover. In the case of the trees on the bottom of the creek, for example - I use my down imaging to see how far off or tightly the fish are holding in relation to the cover and then I start about 1.5 ft or so above the fish to see how active they are and them adjust if necessary. More times than not - I'm about a foot over head. That typically get's visibility from more than one fish so it's a pretty consistent starting point for me. Great question Sir!! Thanks so much for watching!! More to Come!! Tight Lines!
I've said it before and I'll say it again... If this guy was teaching in a school , I would give 5 to 1 odds that he could keep the attention of a class of first graders all day long , and they would come back the next day wanting to know the rest of the story !
I will tell you ( and I'm not joking , I'm dead serious ) exactly why he is catching these nice crappies . It hasn't got anything to do with the brush piles ... His line... Or the rod and reel he uses ... It's his positive attitude that is attracting these fish to him because they're lateral line hearing can detect that coming off that boat !
You can believe that or not what I just stated above... But before you question my brief synopsis , I want you to know this. I've been walking around this planet for just shy of 59 years now and I know a little bit about what I'm talkin about !
And you can take this to the bank as well ! I AM going to make a trip up to whatever lake ( hopefully at Caesars Creek lol ) he wants to fish this summer , and do you know the most important piece of equipment that I'll be taking with me ? It won't be my poles as I've got plenty of them... It's called a pen and piece of paper !!!
@@bobgregory8787 Thanks so much Bob!! Definitely trying to keep the videos interesting and informative while having a little fun out there!!! Tight Lines Man!! and thanks so much for the support!!!
@@crushincrappie6525 hey I just wanted to remind you that they are stocking them rainbow trout a rush run lake tomorrow ( right outside of Camden and Somerville Ohio ) ... I'm going to go over there tomorrow and hopefully I'll see you over there! Just let me know what time you're going to be over there if you can make it, and that way we don't miss each other!
@@bobgregory8787 Hey Bob - just got back in... and saw your message!!! how did it go?? how many did you get? Trying to get over a cold right now - hopefully you were able to get a few Trout my man!! Catcha Soon!!! Tight Lines and thanks for the heads up!!! much appreciated!!!
Could you mention the lake you are fishing at beginning of videos?
Will try to remember that and thx for the feedback!!
Great video! How long into the summer do you think the crappie stay up in the creek before going back into the main lake? Great content!
Somewhere around the end of May time frame.. when the water temp begins to approach the high 70's post spawn in the creek... the crappie will start pushing out.. in fact I caught a few on some of the deeper staging areas on the main lake a few days back. Will try to get the vid out soon! Catcha soon Michael and thx for watching!!!
Yet another masterfully presented and produced video sir! I really do enjoy watching and learning from your crappie fishing expertise! Keep up the good work!🫵🏿
Thank you so much kind Sir!! Great to see ya!! Thanks for watching and for the feedback!! Tight Lines!!
Awesome video. Very good tutorials on structure. What type of electronics if any are you using?
Thanks my Friend!! I've got a Garmin Strike 4 up front to give me the rough outline of the Structure for distancing and a Garmin Echomap UHD 93sv that I use for Down/side scan - I'm a novice in the electronics arena - but it helps tremendously in open water on deep structure - my next vid will demonstrate how I use my electronics on deep structure! Thanks for the feedback!!
@@crushincrappie6525 do you think you'll employ a Livescope at some point with that UHD?
@@tonylwright I'm not really interested in it right now - It's great Tech! but I'm still very much intrigued and challenged, quite frankly, with the use of Down and side-scan imaging - Which is working very well for me at the moment in helping locate in put fish in the boat. It's Great Fun using Side/Down scan!!
Were you fishing a double jig or single
Double Rig Sir!! Thanks very much for watching!!
Do you recommend the double jig you are using for Spring around the spawn? What type of jigs are they?
Yes Sir!! Variation in presentation to keep the fish on their fins is important and the double rig is a fantastic option to add into the Spring rotation - can be a greatly year round option! In the spring I typically run 1/32oz Popeye Jig on top(buck tail, tensil or hair Jigs with a 1/16oz Shad imitation plastic on Bottom - B-Garland solid body baby shad in the Monkey Milk & Pink for stained water worked well this spring - Tight lines and thanks for watching!!
@@crushincrappie6525 Thanks! I'll give that a shot next time out.
@@jakeespel1451 cool let me how you do. Are you fishing a lake or creek?
@@crushincrappie6525 I usually visit Brookville Lake, Cowan lake or Caesar Creek. Hoping to get there over the weekend maybe if time allows.
@@jakeespel1451 I hear ya.. hopefully you have a chance to get out.. I'll probably hit Caesar's in the morning.. this front will likely lay'em down a bit.. but that's ok 👍. Fun to chase'em either.. Enjoy Jake!!
What do I need to get started fishing for these fish
Hi Clarence simple setup to get started really - take a look at my Slip Bobber setup videos - Part1 and Part2 - will give you a great starting point to start fishing for Crappie! in different in different areas and water depts - you can start with live minnows - I'll also be releasing a video shortly, if the weather holds out, on a beginning Long pole setup!! keep an eye our for that - make sure to tick the notification bell so as to be notified when I publish new content. Excellent Question and let me know if you have questions!! More to come!!!
Thank you if you had to get one rod what length would it be
@@clarencesherman7973 Hi Clarence - sorry I thought I responded - I'd purchase a 10' ft Jig pole - and start with that - I'll be getting a vid out soon on good starter options! Tight lines Sir!
What’s the pole you are using??
Nothing too fancy - 10ft Panfish Special Graphite & Buck's 10' B'n'M pole.. I'll be doing a few vids on Rod reviews coming up! Thanks for Watching!
