Thanks for the video, it goes to show you, you don’t have to have a 70000 boat, and a 3000 dollar depth finder to catch crappie, time on the water and knowledge of crappie movement means a lot. Thanks again for the video.😊
Danny - Thanks so much for the support Sir - Yes Sir - time on the water is right up there with oxygen in terms of importance of gaining ground on fish movement - thanks so much for watching!!! cya next time!!!🙂

And you're right.. it never gets old 😃
Good video, excellent job of talking through your techniques !
Thanks Stuart & I really appreciate the feedback - thanks for watching!! more to come!!!
Great explanation of this fishing technique, and I could fish that area all day long. However here I. Northern California we need 4 to 5 weeks of steady rains for both fishing and the farmers. All reservoirs are extremely low,,but we have slabs.. 3 jigs are not allowed or a $500.00 fine. But keep up the informative videos... I will tell friends.. thanks
Hi Luigi - Thanks so very much for Watching!!! I know the droughts are tough in Cali - I used to live in Southern Cali and I loved fishing for Trout in the Eastern Sierras!! Hope you guys get some rain fall soon so you can get to getting those Slabs - But no "fines" though LOL... thanks for the feedback - more vids to come and thanks for Sharing with your friends - I really appreciate all the support!!! Tight Lines Sir!!!
also thanks for the video
My Pleasure!!!!
new sub, great info
Awesome!!! Welcome to the Channel Andre!!! thanks for watching and for the feedback man!!! Much appreciated!! More to come!!!
Make sense. I noticed most are cut on the bottom jig.
Hi Leonard... Yes.. most of the fish in the Video were caught on the bottom Jig but I caught a fair amount on the top and center Jigs as well and didn't get them into the vid - the nicer fish were caught on the top and bottom - but all 3 produced - but what is truly cool is that I get way more strikes with the double and triple than I ever have with just using a sing jig - which has its place for sure... especially in the winter - but goodness.. it's so much fun with multiple jigs right now when the fish are gorging shad!! Thanks so much for watching!!! More to come!! Fish on sir!!
Thank you for the video’s. Do you ever use snap swivels on your jigs? I like to use hand tied jigs some, and many times swap between plastic and hand tied. If I use swivels, I don’t have to retie every time. what are your thoughts on swivels.
@61ranger188 from a convenience perspective, it makes sense, but from a lure functionality perspective, I think we loose a little effectiveness with the swivel. The reason is that the line gives a bit more than the swivel, allowing for more lifelike presentation... and because I often times fish double and triple configurations.. the swivels would be a bit more challenging to present lifelike minnows.. so while swivels may work, I think I do better without them. Thanks so much for the question and for watching, Sir!!! More to come. Tight lines!!!
Really enjoy your videos. Been a hard core bass fisherman for 45 years but wanting to get into crappie fishing to keep the freezer full! Your videos are very informative.
Rick thank you so very much Sir!! Really appreciate the support - More vids to come - Thanks for Watching!!!
Great video, beautiful lake. I've been looking for gloves that will allow me versatility while fishing yet keeps the hands warm. I've seen you wear the gloves in this video in previous videos. Would you recommend them? If so, what brand are they? My hands can't handle the cold weather anymore. Thanks for the video.
Hi Walter!!! the gloves are definitely versatile but not too warm - I have to add hand warmers in the gloves but they are handy - as the temp continues to drop - I have to have warmer gloves to help out - but for the fall they're great - They are CAT brand and as long as the temp stays above freezing - all good! I totally get it about the hands freezing - its rough!! I hope you enjoyed the video - thanks so much for the feedback!!! more to come Walter and Welcome to the Channel Sir!!!
Kudos to you for a great way of giving instruction on fishing crappies and an enjoyable show of catching Crappie. New subscriber.
Thank you so very much Sir!!! really appreciate the feedback and I'm so glad you enjoyed the show!!! More to come!!! Thanks so much for watching for the support and a BIG welcome to the channel!!! tight lines!! 😀
Like your video man keep it simple and very informative. Best on utube right here.
Thank you sir - means a lot man!!! tight lines Cya out there - tight lines!!!
I live in North West Ohio
Makes sense... good stuff!
Thanks Sir!!
Thank you for the explanations and tips. Yes please do a video on the rig.
Yes Sir - Coming soon! Thanks for watching!!
In this video do you have any weight on your line... or is it all generated by your jigs... last question, what jigs (colors) do you suggest. Will this technique works with minnows..
No added weight on the Double or Triple Rigs - the weight of the Jigs is enough - however, that would probably be different in stronger wind or current conditions - I'll try to get a video out in a few days to explain my fall color choices and Yes... Double or triple jig rigs with minnows will work but I typically fish more vertically with that presentation instead of pitching - but would definitely work with the right minnow size and fished slowly - Great questions - and keep an eye out for the video on colors!! tight lines Sean!!
I exclusively fish Caesar Creek. I have never have had much luck in the coves. What coves have you been finding them?
Really enjoy your channel, you have me excited to try it this week!!
Scott
Hi Scott thanks so very for watching and glad you're enjoying the videos - I've been fishing both the Cove on the Welman side as well as the 73 Bridge cove - hope you do well!! Tight Lines Sir!!!

@@crushincrappie6525 Will do!👍
I went out today and found plenty of fish but only managed about 10 fish only 4 keepers 2 of them 12 in. I tried plastics & minnows. Great day having crappie tacos for my birthday dinner tonight🐟🐟
What kind of fishfinder do you have
Hi Robert - I have the Garmin Striker 4 for my front unit and a Garmin Echomap UHD 93sv unit on the back for High Def fish separation. Thanks for Watching Sir!
Thanks for the video, goes to show you, you don’t have to have a 70,000 dollar boat and a 3000 dollar depth finder to catch fish, time on the water and knowledge of crappie’s movements mean a lot. Thanks again man.😊
Good video thanks for sharing your knowledge
My Pleasure Mike Thanks for watching!!!
What kind of buoy or marker do you use to mark the brush that you want to fish?
I've got Rite-Hite Best Buoy Marker UV-Coated. They're pretty good!! I'm thinking of trying the LIndy Rounded end Marker Buoys. The Rite-Hite Buoys work great though. Thanks for the question Devin and thanks very much for watching!! Tight lines!!
What is the name of that Lake you fishing you said Southwest Ohio I live in Toledo Ohio
Caesar Creek lake.. South of Daytom in Waynesville, OH.
Enjoyed the video. Some nice fish caught. I’m heading to Paint Creek in the morning. I’ve been finding them on steep banks in the wood.
Awesome Man Thanks so much - I've heard good things about paint creek - I'm going to have to check it out - let me know how you do!! Thanks for watching Sir!!
@@crushincrappie6525 it was a slow morning at Paint Creek today. Only 7 keepers but they was good ones. Still holding on steep banks in the wood
@@netman2807 Awesome Man!!! Hey, We'll take 7 good ones any day!!😀& sounds about right that they'd be holding on ledges in the wood - water temp holding in mid 50 range? Great work and thanks a bunch for checking in and letting me know - I'm going to try to get out there and fish it as soon as I can - Fish on man!!
Marvin, love your videos! You do such a great job of explaining where to find crappie and how to catch them. I especially like to see that you are on Caesars Creek which is the lake I fish! Thanks so much!!!
Thanks Marvin!! And I really appreciate the feedback back Sir!! I love Caesars Creek Lake - nice challenge of a lake to fish but a great all the same!! thanks so much for watching!!! we'll see ya out there yeah!!!! More vids soon!! Tight Lines!!!
What was the water clarity
Not too dingy - surface visibility was about 6 to 8 inches below the surface on the main lake - a touch less in the timber where the leaves mixing with the algae has the water bit more stained but overall - not bad!! Thanks for watching!!! More to come!!
Great informative video. I just put a Garmin Echomap UHD 93SV on my boat. Used it for the first time yesterday and not sure of what I am doing. Big learning curve ahead and hope it helps me to locate productive areas to fish!
Thanks David and Congrats on the 93sv - I love it - I use it primarily for Down imaging right now and am still learning the unit - the first thing I learned is that you need to be moving at least 2 mph for the images on Down scan to come through clear.. All the best with the unit and if I can be of any help let me know - My presets are pretty standard!! I have no doubt that it will help you locate and scope out productive areas to fish - good hunting and fish on!! thanks for watching!!!
Best units for the money hands down
@@slabbusterrtr7690 completely agree 👍
For the settings, and how to interpret what your seeing, look up Benjamin Nowak , 1 cast 1 fish, fish the moment. They all have clear, concise videos on this.
Make a trip, leave your rods at home, this will force you to learn your unit. Something good to do in the winter, when not many are on the lake.
As you saw with crushin crappie ( great video by the way), get some marker buoys. They aid greatly in learning where things are in the water, in relation to what you see on the graph.
I agree, garmin has the best bang for the buck.
@Crushin Crappie ,is yours live scope compatible or not?
Great video's. I saw your 3 jig set up video.
Any advise on fishing standing timber. The unknown on what's below scares me to death. I try to go to standing timber and usually get frustrated and leave. I put my main motor up out of the water and use my trolling motor. But I hate not being able to see what you can't see and hope I don't brake anything.
Thanks
Yes... firstly, it goes without saying the when cruising through standing timber should always be done very slowly and carefully😀 sit/stand at the front of the boat as you pulse your trolling motor and just cruise slowly. You're Sonar unit probably charts your course so when leaving the area - switch your sonar unit to chart plotter mode and you should be able to follow the exact course you came in going back out using the chart as a guide. If you're pulsing through very slowly - even if you bump into a submerged piece of timber - it's not usually something that will cause any damage. But sitting/standing at front usually gives you a decent enough vantage point to see obstruction below the surface - especially this time of year as the water is clearing up!! Slow and Easy is the ticket!! Thanks for watching!! Great question!! more to come!!😀
@@crushincrappie6525 thank you
@@toddnelson6438 my Pleasure Todd.. let me know how you do out there.. Tight Lines Sir!!!
was wondering if it wouldn't be better to use the same color jig on each to make it look more like a natural school of bait fish?
It absolutely would!!! that's the beauty of the double and triple rigs - you can mix the colors to see if a pattern emerges... to see if the Crappies prefer one color over another then fine tune your approach by switching to all the same colors, for instance, to mimic a passing school. But I'll tell ya!! you'd be surprised at how many fish the assortment produces over a single color - That's why I have 4 poles with different presentations so as to be able to adjust quickly to what the fish want - but I never had to switch to the same color because the Crappies were all over the assorted triple rig. But yes.. make total sense to mimic a school with the same color!! great question!! Keep'em coming!! tight Lines and thanks for watching!!
How long do you fish on a timber before moving on to the next one. I am finding them on timber but hard to coax to bite!
Hi Scott - Great question - typically about 5 minutes but this can be tricky because Color really is King and this time of year fish can get a bit finicky as the conditions change - try different colors and move in between different areas of cover - you want make sure you've put a descent offering before them before moving on and remember that slower presentations will sometimes coax a bite - Hang in there Scott!!! You'll gett'em - thanks for the question and stay in touch!! I'll try to put another vid together on Front fishing in Timber!!!
I fished the same cove found many fish on timber and in open water between timber. I caught about a dozen but only 3 keepers!
@@scottwinkler9810 I'll probably hit the deep trees tomorrow.. I fished the timber the last few days.. caught a number of really nice fish.. are you using plastics or live bait? Keep after'em Sir!!!
I have tried both jigging plastics and minnows on slip bobber also on hair jigs!
Awesome video, I turned the bell on! Would you say having a triple rig setup increases the frequency of bites that you get?
In the Fall Certainly - not too much in the winter as the fish are lethargic and aren't as aggressive - but in the Fall - the triple rig absolutely does increase the bite frequency because it resembles a school of bait fish and the fish definitely gets primed up to thrash a school more than just one - in my opinion!! great Question and Thanks so much for watching and for the Support Q!!😀
What is the name of the city you fishing
Sorry.. Waynesville, OH.
Is there Good Crappie Fishing in Teledo? I've been up for the Walley run once or twice.. but haven't fished for Crappie there? Thanks for watching Sir!!
@@crushincrappie6525 yes we have good crappie fishing
your fish game is tight. you are truly impressive. thank you for sharing. would like to get a guide fish day with you. Is this even possible?
Thanks so much!! Really appreciate the feedback - not ready to guide just yet!! but will let you know when I am!! Appreciate the support Sir!! More to come!! Tight Lines!
Does more than one bait give you more strikes because it's representative of a school? That's something I've never seen before. I wonder if two would be as effective as three and more effective than one? Looking forward to the video showing how to tie that rig.
In my opinion it does!!! I don't show it in the video but I literally caught one fish after another on the double and triple Rig! I'll get the instructional video on tying the 3 rig out in a day or so. Thanks for watching!!! How is Trout fishing?? Tight Lines!!
@@crushincrappie6525 I actually commented about the double while watching the video and it still had a few minutes left and you do show the double. My bad. Trout fishing is on fire now. The water temp is low 50's so both lakes and streams are productive. We did catch one nice crappie the other day jigging for trout. Check out a couple of my videos when you're bored.
@@tonylwright Awesome Sir and will definitely check you out man!!! Fish on!!!😀
