It's very hard to choose Renderman over Karma in 2024.
Hopefully Renderman could finish the fundamentals course that was started when 24 came out.
Include the new Solaris features too.
Tried Renderman 26.1, this thing is very unstable, not sure how to feel about it
Also Kaboom HDA is not a well made asset imo, I don't know how one supposed to work with it when most of the updates happen on the SOP level and not in the shader itself, every change leads to IPR force reloads + RIS tries to render at the same time. It crashed on me so many times, it's such a bad workflow compared to Karma
Aggregate volumes is a cool thing though, something like cloudbed renders so much faster than in Arnold for example, props to that
