Montserrat Volcano Tour 2018

Caribbean Helicopters "Montserrat Volcano Tour".
The Soufrière Hills volcano is an active, complex stratovolcano with many lava domes forming its summit, on the Caribbean island of Montserrat. The Soufrière Hills volcano became active in 1995.
The tour leaves from Antigua and is about 50 minutes flight time.

I planned my wedding here in April of 96, it was a gorgeous island with wonderful people. Its heartbreaking even still. The marriage didnt last but Montserrat will rise again!

You can see the damage from the pyroclastic flow, down the mountain and straight into the sea. You don’t realize how much ground it covered until you see it from the air. With all that it still looks like a beautiful island and I would love to visit someday.

I live in Washington state and visited the mount St Helen's a year after the eruption and the damage was was beyond anything imaginable trees mowed over like toothpicks for hundreds of miles whole top of the mountain blown off.

Im from Montserrat #Alliougana so seeing footage like this is heartbreaking, but even though #Soufriere hills volcano has destroyed more than 3/4 of the island on the flip side it also laid a solid foundation for rebuilding.
