    While certainly not vintage by any means, this vacuum is probably 7 to 8 years old at this point, and still works like brand new. It has some interesting styling cues, and some interesting features.
    It also uses a different motor design than most other vacuums, the motor is actually very quiet. And it's not made in China, where it is made will be revealed in the video and will probably surprise you.

    I wish you had shown how to change the bag.

      That was beyond the scope of this video. I'm sure the manufacturer has the product manual available for download, start there.

    I heard "Carry that Weight" in the background! Also, this vacuum seems Hungary for dirt. And since Electrolux is based in Sweden, it's a real-life Swedish Sure-Grip Suck Machine.

      +harleybadger1 And the vacuum said to the fan "Blow me". To which the fan replied "You suck!"

    I didn't even know that Hungary had any manufacturing. The green color of that vacuum reminds me of my mom's old hoover canister vacuum from the 1960s or 70s. That had an upright attachment but was taken out of service about 4 years ago. It had the light for the bag, but it wasn't the China LED like this one.

      +Andrew Gallucci I guess it's a good thing to have a "Hungary" vacuum, than one without such an appetite. I bet that Hoover still ran, and even if its suction wasn't quite what it used to be, I'm sure it can be fixed up to work like brand new. My parents have 2 old Eureka vacuums from probably the very late 1970s they don't use anymore, but they still work like they did back when I was a kid and first saw them.
      It's funny, they had these Eurekas, but my mother wanted an Electrolux, and I guess after a while my dad gave in, and she got one. It was a great vacuum, they still have it today. The Eurekas were banished to the basement, and have probably sat there since.
      Actually, I just happened to remember: One of those my dad found thrown out, I must have been 4 or 5 years old, I was with him. It was a warm, sunny, spring day, around noon or so. It was thrown out just around the corner, along with a TV set. He picked up both of them and we returned home to drop them off, I don't know where we were actually going at the time. I also have no idea what happened to the TV, but I remember it sort of worked, I think my uncle ended up with it, but that was probably a good 30 years ago or so, none of them remember anymore, and my uncle has since passed away. Boy, long-term memory sure works great!

      jaykay18 We don't have it anymore. I think it had bad motor brushes. I didn't know anything about vacuums then. My grandparents have an old 2 speed Hoover from the 1970's and a 1 speed Hoover from the late 70's. They both still work great.

      +Andrew Gallucci There is a lot of manufacturing in Hungary now, especially things like automotive parts and light bulbs.

    Quite an interesting vacuum. not very often you find anything thats made in Hungry. Seems like a real good vaccum compared to what we have now.

    • @jaykay18
      @jaykay18  Před 8 lety +1

      +ToryTheFanMan It works pretty well, and it's great for the house there, but there are still better vacuums, like those of yester-yester decade.

    Dude it prevents the suction from damaging prevents pulling

    • @jaykay18
      @jaykay18  Před 6 lety

      At that point you could just not use a vacuum either. A vacuum is supposed to create suction; anything that will impede that suction, whether designed into it or not, will impede performance.

    not a true electrolux imo. its in fact made by eureka/sanitaire if im not mistaken. recently they bought rights to the electrolux name. however the original electrolux manufacturer is still in business in the us.

      Oh I agree. This was a Home Depot/Lowe's unit. It's not mine but I've used it and obviously made this video of it, and although it bears the name it doesn't bear the quality. At home I have a Lux Classic.

    Wow Jay...that kitchen cabinet is out of whack....doors are out of alignment and the handle on the drawer should be in the middle of face...it's the carpenter in me...lol

    • @jaykay18
      @jaykay18  Před 8 lety +1

      +gospos1 Most of the doors on the cabinets don't close, and that's not completely the cabinet's fault, it's the person who loads the stuff in it. To "fit things in", the doors don't close all the way because the items prevent that. I couldn't deal with that for the life of me, having a cabinet door hanging open 5 inches to fit that last can of lima beans in. The rest of the things you noticed are correct.
