WebMD Syndome pisses me off so much! I have mastocytosis, diagnosed after years of severe asthma, a pile of tests, and my pulmos observation. Now Mast Cell is the trendy self diagnosis out there and it makes it harder for those of us actually diagnosed to get treatments and drugs.

Patients who don't also look up their symptoms and figure out which tests are needed aren't being good advocates for themselves. Healthcare is too expensive to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion when the first doctor tells you your sudden blindness is anxiety and to just come back in 6 months (Happened to me. Spoiler: it was not anxiety)

Yup. I was told all about my weight and diet for several months, then ended up in the hospital for 10 days after emergency surgery to repair a perforated ulcer. I wish I'd looked at WebMD instead of trusting a Dr hell bent on spending less than 10 minutes per patient.

Unfortunately, Web MD is necessary when your symptoms for the last 10 years have been ignored. You have been told to go to the gym and lose weight. Or you have been asked by a doctor in an emergency room, “do you hear voices”? Started dialysis six months ago due to all these wonderful doctors and their wonderful questions and suggestions… Not! That is why people need to go to WebMD because our real doctor’s, more often than not, do not listen to us!

Exactly 😩😩 I diagnosed myself with endometriosis and a cyst 4-6 years before a doctor finally agreed I had both 😅 All I did was a bunch of online searches and reading up other people's stories of their pain on forums. All while everyone called me a hypochondriac, "sensitive to pain" etc
Only had to go through the worst decade of my life before the hospital finally ordered a scan

Isn’t miosis a symptom though, like, I feel thats reasonable to say, I have miosis, you can measure it yourself, and it’s not like a disease, it feels out of place here. It’s not the cause, it’s a symptom of the cause

One poor doc with us got himself in the soup because, in a moment of complete frustration, he suggested that the patient tranfer all of their care to Dr. Google.
